Thanks brother, appreciate it. But lets appreciate that the MQB A0 IN platform of Skoda Kushaq is far more torsionally rigid than the earlier polo’s PQ25 platform and hence more capable dynamically.
I'd like to call you out on this one. I feel you should not comment on such things without any real data. It would be better to check the paint quality by using a paint depth detector on several points all over the car to actually see if the paint quality has reduced or not. I have seen several kushaq's and taigun and they shine as good as any other vw car. I personally own a Taigun since past 3 months and I can personally vouch for the paint quality and sheet metal thickness. We have an ameo in the family as well and taigun is as solidly built as ameo with same level of quality (to me). The metal sheet thickness looks the same too, I have extensively compared the sheet metal thickness (without any equipment, with just eyes) of the taigun/ kushaq and polo/ vento/ rapid and they felt the same. I think before testing with actual equipment we should not comment about the sheet metal thickness and paint quality unless it really shows like in suzuki cars. Now if you compare the bonnet flex on these newer models with older models then yes they flex more but it's to meet with pedestrian norms and not a sign of cost cutting. I have seen similar flex on CBU T-roc as well which is built to European standards. Skoda says slavia meets European pedestrian safety norms. Coming to the kushaq vs kicks drag race, the kushaq is slower off the line because of the DCT (DSG) gearbox, its the inherent nature of that gearbox to not let the revs too high to protect from getting damaged. If you look at the drag race of verna 1.0 DCT on autocar, its the same story there as well. Polo 1.0 GT won from i20 DCT because polo has a TC gearbox and i20 has a DCT gearbox, same story again. Also if you check out the kushaq vs kicks video, in the third race the kushaq would have passed the kicks had the track been longer, so even though it lost in the drag race, in the real world, the kushaq can outperform the kicks. On your comment about T-roc 1.5 TSI DSG vs the Taigun 1.5 DSG's performance difference, Taigun uses the same 1.5 engine which is fully imported form Europe albeit in a different state of tune in terms of power delivery with different gear ratios which leads to different 0-100 times. Taigun vs seltos drag race results are expected tbh, the Taigun won by a acceptable margin, as it had a bit more power and marginally more torque but kia seltos is no slouch! Its got a lot of power and it shows. The drag race was supposed to be neck and neck as they have similar power, almost same torque with similar DCT gearbox. I don't get the fuss about it. I'd agree with the cost cutting front on the newer cars at some areas, like they removed auto levelling headlamps offered in vento, IR cut class (green tint), one touch up down for all windows, cheap wipers, noisy power windows, flimsy interior cabin light buttons, cheap headliner (now fixed in slavia), rear fog lamps, 3 rear parking sensor instead of 4 (though it doesn't make a huge difference). See the whole thing is, they are here to do business and we VW/ skoda fans make a small chunk of the market which used to be reflected in the sales figures. Obviously them being a business, they want to increase their sales, profit and want to appeal to the mass buyer. Skoda having good experience in building sedans wanted to build a sedan but they knew that Indians won't buy it at all due to the GC (look at the combined sales number of sedans in India). So they took away that complain by raising the GC to SUV levels and still managed to offer a good handling sedan for most users. Now people can't complain about the GC and reject a sedan to choose those pseudo SUV's. Being a sedan lover, I too wanted to buy a sedan and was waiting for slavia/ virtus but the wait was getting too long (waited more than a year) and did not want to buy vento/ rapid as they were being replaced (loved those cars and still love them more than taigun, just because they are sedans) so that's why I got a taigun. Note - I am not biased towards Vw/ skoda just because I own a taigun. I call them out wherever required. I too am facing some kind of squeaky/ rubbing sound from my right door, need to get it checked but I do not let these things take away the joy one gets after driving these cars. Overall the car is really damn good and I am happy with it so far.
What a beautiful point by point rebuttal👌👏🏻, hats off to you, really moved by each and every logic you have given and largely agree with your points. This was much needed and definitely reignites my admiration for VW group’s new cars. Really appreciate your point, thanks a lot.
Very rightly said. Tanks dont have to take care of pedestrian safety but cars do have to. Increased flex is being catered in premium cars for pedestrian safety but wrongly being interpreted by misinformed car analysts!! & drag race performance comparison for common use cars? Its the dumbest car comparison parameter. How can we even think that a company like VW which owns major race car brands dont know to plant an engine which can do 0-100 in 5 secs? Its not required and so they haven't given the same. We need a fun to drive car that runs well, can be controlled well and is comfortable to our road conditions & also takes care of pedestrian safety in case an accident happens. VW cars whether vento, polo or Taigun clearly nails these aspects better than most cars out there.
@@navneethgopal9521 it is understandable to accept flex in bumper, fender (fiber parts) etc with regards pedestrian safety. The point raised was regarding sheet metal thickness which has been raised by various auto reviewers in terms of reduced thud in door closure. Earlier generation polo, vento also had there share of criticism from various analysts as well as users and that helped in various improvements worked upon them by VW group. So constructive criticism is as much needed, hope we see the improvements in slavia w.r.t kushaq. The same would not have happened without critiques. For the drag race part let us not forget that VW cars have driving dynamics as their USP. It is no wonder that the advertisement of skoda slavia states 0-100 kmph timings. No other budget car brand emphasises the same to this extent. So it is quite natural to judge it by this yardstick. They have thrill to drive at the core of their DNA and hence will always be judged by that. Hope we keep room for natural reactions, obvious judgments and constructive criticism open.
3:11 taigun dsg heating complaint ke kaaran slow hai aur baki apke sare point sahi hai inhone skoda or vw ke typical horn ,windows up and down from key and green tint windows are also removed along with insulation cost cutting
what you said is absolutely true. From kushaq ambition MT owner.

Thanks for your kind words bhai 😀
Bro do test ride and tell your experience of 1.5 and 1.0
But they are still giving 4 years paint warranty and 6 year anti corrosion warranty
Such a valid point rakesh ji, thanks for the insight.👏🏻
Very honest ❣
