I love the soft humility of your delivery and the width and depth of your perception.

Very interesting!! This presentation speaks volumes, in my opinion. Balaam was only interested in finding out what was so special about Israel so he could come up with a way to bring them down; Pretty much like Satan did Adam and Eve. And JOB!! Oh wow! Makes me wonder about our enemy wanting to know what is so special about each of us so that a plan can be concocted to bring us down. I have never considered this aspect of this historical story. Thanks Rabbi Richman!!! Wonderful presentation.

I've been in a remittent relationship with G-d. I hear something that splits my loyalty to my G-d and my loyalty to my family and country every time I try it and it always has landed on my family and country. Between serving a truly righteous G-d for love or for advantage, the latter makes sense more often to a man with a G-d complex, a man better at laziness than effort, while hypocritically saying that G-d could one day be studied "empirically" without even knowing the meaning or even how to spell the word empirically. God's greatness does not go in finite, study-able norms we know of in this universe. Thales and Aristotle invented logic and science respectively, but I and other arrogant men must believe in something unmeasurable by those two practices to keep our egos down.
Please pray that my affliction of pride be lifted from me. He deserves our love, and more than that he deserves our appreciation. Although I have never failed at this task every time I've faced it, I pray I can be a good Bnei Noach one day, I need to do some serious reading before I return to the online community of Bnei Noach and Jews.
