I worked on a 2008 fireblade in my garage a couple of years ago, that had been converted for its owner, with 1 arm. It had a right side clutch lever, so you had the clutch, front brake and throttle all on the 1 hand. That's probably the only bike I've never test rode before giving back to the owner.
Interesting, the dude I know has a VTX1800 with one handlebar with throttle/clutch, and brakes by foot. No way in hell I’m comfortable enough with my balance like those guys. THAT’S riding haha
He is 100% correct a positive attitude after a life changing event will help you achieve anything, after my spinal cord injury it took me 20 years but I am riding motorcycles again
Also missing my right leg above the knee, I ride a 2018 beta 390rr race edition constantly and the only mod I’ve made to it is a cheap ox brake lhrb kit 🤷🏻♂️. Granted left would be a lot more difficult but if you wanna ride it’s not hard. The worst part by far is just trying to keep your damn leg on and keep your foot on the peg 😂
Nice one Austin. I'm a left above knee amputee riding a 1200GSA and S1000RR. Lost it in 1991 to a drink driver while riding my RD350LC. Keep up the good work my friend and ride safe!
I shattered my Tibia Plateau last year. The surgeon was explaining they may need to remove the leg below the knee. I remember thinking... I will need to buy an Africa Twin DCT... Thankfully he saved the leg!
wish i could like this video more than once. thanks yam. my dad lost his leg in ama superbikes in the 80s. he has never ridden since. i doubt he would be able as he lost most of the use of his right arm too. but, im sure he would love to try to find a way to get him back in the saddle some day. bike mods for the disabled have been long overdue.
My Best friend who lost a leg took me riding on my vacation and he went full hard Enduro on me and kicked my ass I've never been so proud in my life it was 100% about his determination and will to never Quit 😊 Warriors can handle anything 🤙
I had cancer last year and lost about 1/4 of my right foot and leg. Took lessons and bought my first bike (2019 R3) 5 months after leaving the hospital!
Love this u have a winning attitude. I too am an above knee amp and have been riding motorcycles for the last 30 years. Prosthetics weren't as advanced when i started and i gave up on mine anyway, so i ride without one. I'm missing the opposite leg so we built linkage to put shifter on right side and i shift with my heel and brake with my toe. That gives me separate control over both brakes. I've mostly ridden street bikes but started with adventure riding about 5 years ago. I rode my f650gs from Canada to Cabo. I too have trouble standing and riding and if i dab on one side I'm eating dirt lol. If I'm ever up Utah way I'll look u up.
Always cool to see others who are determined to ride despite handicaps like this. Personally I'm missing all but my thumb on my right hand and I've raced dirtbikes since I was 10 and now I ride an mt10
Cool to hear man! I've recently lost a few fingers on my right hand and I love riding motorcycles too, mostly dirt bike . How do you grip the bars? What do you do to front brake?
One of the guys who work at the motorcycle dealership where I live has an arm that is pretty much half the length of the other. Pretty cool that he can still ride. I didn't even notice his condition until quite a while after talking with him about some stuff.
I know a dude who lost his arm while riding.. They rigged his VTX1800 to have front/rear brakes on the pedal, and only has one handle bar with the throttle and clutch. Total badass
I'm missing my shifting leg but my DCT is my 3rd bike in 16 years. Two others were Suzuki Burgmans. Put 80,000 miles on the last one. 2018 Wing is 2 years and 18000 miles old.
Dude this was cool, thanks for highlighting them, I love the idea of a support vehicle for rent so I can feel safer out on the trails "by myself". N I wanna try that ktm.
Nice! I loose my left leg 7 months ago... Now I hope that I will ride bikes again... I just looking for new motorcycle. I think fir Honda NC with automatic gearbox. I also need information how to stop on the tarific lights for example ,with one leg?
My grandpa was paralyzed from the waist down and what he did is change all the controls to his hands and we would duct tape his feet to the pegs. Even after everything he still rides today over 60 years old and the whole time he worked on his bike all by himself never needed help
@@ShooterMedic1818 no I just sat on a ton of bikes at the dealership and the GS felt like a pig compared to even the 700 pound cruisers that I sat on. Just too tall for me
Oh, he's a "real rider". He busted out the öhlins shock leg!
Dude has a warrior mentality !
Respect !

Awesome, what a warrior he is. Really inspirational. He is really living life to the fullest and setting a great example.

He seems like such a chill dude. Definitely gotta hop over there with my riding buddy to give them some patronage. Thanks for the video, Yam and crew!
This is a great video, i think I've found the spring break trip that I've been looking for!
Cool guy and tough as hell. Next trip to Utah, support this guys business!
A rider is always a rider...
No matter what happens 😁😁
You are doing great brooo 🔥
I can think of no higher compliment to give him other than he's metal as fuck! 🤘
I know a single leg rider as well, he rides a 2020 triumph tiger 1200xca. He rides freaking HARD, honestly one of the best riders I know
This is awesome to see! 🙌
Wow. Never give up.

Austin has a great attitude, love his energy!
i passed my motorcycle course yammie 💪❤️
I wasn't going to watch this, but after seeing Austin spin around on his fucking leg I will watch every fucking second!

Ive ridden with Austin in Moab. The guy is an animal. Super fun to ride with.
So after your sponsor add i learned that bmw charged him for his leg. Thank you Yammie!
Amazing content !!. Great to see this kind of Video's from you guy's. Keep branching out with kind of content.
4:39 "some fancy 2nd dash that BMW is gonna charge an arm *and a leg* for it. Spot on.
Jokes aside, this was an amazing video.

Dude you're awesome. Now I gotta save some money to try out the beginner tour
Dude this was cool, thanks for highlighting them, I love the idea of a support vehicle for rent so I can feel safer out on the trails "by myself". N I wanna try that ktm.
I was riding with a dude around here for a solid 15 minutes before I realized he was missing a leg on the other side
My guy is on a BMW. AYYYYYYY! I'm on an 07 F650GS. Nice 1200!
What a legend. Would definately go on a tour if I wasn't from the other side of the globe.
Spite said "charge you an arm and a leg for" Damn...
was gonna say, savage spite
"That BMW is going to charge you an arm and a leg for." Too soon spite, too soon
Hahaha yeah I was like “holy spite hahah”
THANKS FOR THE RAW INSPIRATION! :)
Austin tried to downplay the stuff he had to learn so he could ride with a prosthetic, what a cool humble guy.

Proof - only as daunting as you make it.
"If your gonna do it over do it." Fking iconic.
BMW will charge you an arm and a leg for that phone mount... real funny Spite
When I went to Deal's Gap, there was a one armed guy on a dual sport (I think he'd Sumo'd it) juat smoking it
That was amazing
Blessings
This is so cool
This vid is Yammie's way of paying Southbound back for Spite yeeting their rental bike on day 1
proof we don't need trikes further intensifies lol
Nice

Bro,
I’m a left side aka, w my fist leg, ottoboc c-leg, and I wanted to learn about riding again.
But…..
Wat kind of leg is that???
Jeff
"charge you and arm and a ... LEG for"
Do you find using a com system distracting listening to music. Been riding a few months looking to get one just don’t want to be distracted
Well done Yammy. Maybe now you'll stop making fun of DCT's (from an upper extremity amputee).
>BMW gonna charge you an arm and a leg for...
The guy got 50% discount on his GS
You want to see adaptive rider goggle Dave Barr dude rode a Harley chopper around the world solo with two fake legs
I know a bloke who rides with one leg fast as fuck to
I can barely lift a GS off the side stand
Holy shit lift some weights lmao
@@ShooterMedic1818 it's not a light bike and it's tall so I can't flat foot it. I can easily lift it but not comfortably like most bikes
@@ChrisG1392 I hear ya but off the side stand shouldn't be an issue. Off the ground is another story lmao.
@@ShooterMedic1818 no I just sat on a ton of bikes at the dealership and the GS felt like a pig compared to even the 700 pound cruisers that I sat on. Just too tall for me
Just imagin he loses his leg during a ride
Did he really say an arm and a leg?
This is possible
I guess bmw charged him a leg for another bmw dash….
Just watch Moto madness.... you'll see a bunch of handicapped motorcycle riders 🤷♂️
