Note: I was going to do a top 5 video on lost baseball cards, but I ended up having 7 baseball cards and decided to add the three biggest lost basketball cards to round out to 10. Hopefully you don't mind the rare multi sport video on the channel!
Hi Scott! Keep up the amazing content, please! Now ,I’m putting in a request😊 Whether it is you or The blabbin about slabbin crew on spitballllin . Can you cover the resurgence of stadium club in 2014 until now? Focusing on the parallels and actual image, variation, short prints and the guesstimation on the print run of the short prints (so many people seem to think they are about 200 up until 2023 seem to be much greater) I am a big stadium collector. I would like the way that you guys do your research with your experience to cover this topic if I was to be so lucky. 😉🤠 thanks again
so apparently 2010 Panini Certified football had a 1/1 Jerry Rice Prime Auto in the fabric of the game set. one of the nicest football game used sets of all time. I have never seen that in 12 years of searching or heard or a sale.
Great idea for a video, Scott … I often think about the absolute certainty that some really major cards were either just not immediately identified as important, but also, some cards have to have fallen victim to fires, floods, or other disasters
There's been a rumor about a big Hideo Nomo collection that got destroyed during one of the tsunamis in Japan years ago. Could be why it's so difficult finding low #ed Nomo 90's cards.
That’s the debut he was speaking off (where he’s flipping the ball to a fan). The true rookie (finishing his swing and still standing in the box) is still yet to be seen.
7:00 this video would get more hits if you titled it "Top 10 LOST Sports Cards" because the mix of cards on your lists (especially the Lebron Logoman) are ones that MANY collectors are still seeking 👀
great content, always have been interested if there was a website that tracks what chase cards have been found or are outstanding by release. any place you know of that aggregates that information?
Here, I’ll further break the thread even further - The 2023-24 Upper Deck Young Guns Gold Burst 1/1 Connor Bedard has not yet been pulled and has an active $ 1 million dollar bounty 😄. Great video as always Scottie 👍🔥
Good stuff! I personally don't like the standard superfractor design...but it works on the Steph. Not sure what happened with the Kershaw Super. Was going to be in the Goldin auction this month, but looks like it was pulled.
What’s great about the Curry is that’s back when kids could buy hobby packs for a few bucks. I do believe it’s been pulled but probably is in a kid’s shoebox. We’ll never see that now with the cost of modern wax.
Would it be possible for some of these players to have their 1 of 1? Bobby Witt Jr. is a known card collector and would think he negotiated a deal to keep his first flagship 1 of 1.
Probably the biggest modern soccer cards never that never surfaced: 2014 - Mo Salah Topps Premier Gold FS (GOLD) 1/1 2017 - Mbappe - Topps Chrome UCL Superfractor 1/1
When it comes to lotteries the top end skews the expected value a lot. So I've wondered if unhit 1of1s has an effect on the value of wax because it probably should. Now I'd be a little gun shy on high-end wax with refractor style cards given the CT scan situation. I'll let the dust settle.
Man I remember that Evan Longoria , I believe was a LIDS commercial where he was wearing his Tampa Bay hat everywhere, yeah he was the man during the 2010s
Well I'm sure that most every card you covered I don't have because I dont have any wax from 2000 through 2016 as i was out of the hobby. However, I have hundreds of sealed wax including lots of 2022 Update. I wish wax was cheaper now like it was in 2018. I refuse to pay $500 for any hobby box. Thank you for sharing.
I bet it’s like 1 of 2 things for most. A. Most have been pulled and not announced to up value B. Somehow the top cards have been backdoored and were never actually loaded.
I believe the bonds gem masters surfaced a year or two ago. I thought I saw it in the rare 90s group a while back then again it could have just been the pmg version. It's been awhile.
Ok, I’ll go obscure as heck…. If you’re a pro-wrestling fan, read on. If not, totally understand. Stone Cold Steve Austin’s rookie auto was from 2001 Fleer WWF WrestleMania - and after that, no more licenced Stone Cold until 2018 !!!. All on card autos. Numbered on card to 500. The rarest/greatest card would have to be to pull autograph #316/500. THAT would be such a grail of grails, if you know you know. ;)
Ehhhh, I am willing to bet a few of these have been pulled and are sitting in collections. The owners are just find holding on to them quietly and letting them go up in value.
I always wonder to myself how many of these cards were opened by some kid who had no idea what he just pulled and is just sitting on it or threw it out one day while cleaning up his room having no idea 🤣
⚾️ At the moment, Machado and Arenado both have 335 career home runs. Do either make 500 Club or 515 to catch Schmitt’s 515 at third? Would that achievement add much to All-Time arguments? Age reference: Schmitt was 38 when he joined the 500 club. Arenado 32 and Manny 31 at the moment.
It seems a reason for cards belonging to this list could be manufactured scarcity, though I suppose there are some obscure vintage cards that are known to exist and have never been seen.
Curry most likely gone. Target I know destroyed most of the product they had. This stuff didn’t sell at 50 cents a pack on clearance. I was working there part time and I remember throwing away maybe 5 full box’s and around 30 blasters. Back then when cards didn’t sell 99% they went in the trash there were not venders back then we would get cards on the truck and stock them. And things that didn’t sell went to charge back written up and then tossed.
What are your thoughts on Panini? I think they ruined American sports cards but appreciate that they brought in new collectors. Hope most people realize Topps is the gold standard
You're definitely assuming wrong. Some of them yes but Its just odds that a bunch of great cards will not be pulled in the first 95% of the product being opened
@@Nuttyirishman85 im indifferent honestly. But i open lots of vintage packs (magic yugioh pokemon baseball). Im under the mindset of “opening is always priceless”. But sometimes it truly hurts when you crack a $1000+ pack to get 5$ worth of product. I have a few boosters that i would crack if i could actually see what id get. Its like the next level of pack weighing/searching.
@@Nuttyirishman85 1000 hurts a hell of alot less than my last alpha magic pack. 8000$ and didn’t even make half my money back. But opening is always priceless. Its a small price to pay to relive my childhood.
That Steph Curry should be #1 obv Also a missed card here is the 2014 Prizm World Cup Black 1/1 Messi. The true base 1/1 has never been seen and its got hugeee buyers for it if it gets pulled.
Man, whoever wiped the Soto super auto, and then trimmed it in hopes of upping the grade is a complete Moran, should be shunned by the entire card collecting community and black-balled from the hobby entirely

That Barry Bonds gem masters is in a binder somewhere in a hoarders trailer I guarantee it
Great video. I love the thought, science, and info you put into your videos.
We need to bring back Tar and Feathering for the genius that decided to alter the Juan Soto super.
While I hope some of these are sitting in closets and packs, you have to wonder how many of these were accidently thrown out and will never surface.
Yep. Parents buy a box for their kids. Parents have zero clue about cards.

“Nothing would surprise me anymore in sports cards.” Such an accurate statement.
Elly De La Cruz 1/1 Sapphire Papa has gotta be one of the biggest ones out there still.

The Bobby Witt Topps Update Platinum already came out and was in auction not too long ago. So you can scratch that off the list.
That’s the debut he was speaking off (where he’s flipping the ball to a fan). The true rookie (finishing his swing and still standing in the box) is still yet to be seen.

I would add the Aaron Judge '17 Topps Heritage Superfractor ~ the Nolan Ryan-esque dual photo card with Tyler Austin... Nice list.
Has the buster posey 1st bowman auto superfractor ever been graded ? I think thats a really important card.
Awesome video Scott! Love this kind of stuff
