In 1964 Dick Clark saw the successes of shows like “Shindig!” and “Hullabaloo” and made this American Bandstand spinoff pilot for CBS. CBS said “no thanks” but the show found a home on ABC a few months later. “Where The Action Is” ran on weekday afternoons from 1965-1967.
