Decent ~ish run, but still had a lot of mistakes.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Do you play on a controller or a keyboard?
A: Keyboard (Not mechanical)
Q: Why do you open your inventory while falling?
A: Increases falling speed + Removes hardfalls.
Q: Weren't inventory drops removed??
A: Not entirely, they're just way more precise. You can only do them as you fall off a ledge. That's why you'll see me use other ways to drop faster, like cyclone drops and dives.
Q: Why is the game in Chinese?
A: Faster text scroll + Less letters in general, saves a good amount of time.
Q: Why are there 2 timers?
A: The upper one is for time without game loading times (loadless), lower one is real time (RTA).
Q: Isn't the Pantheon of Hallownest optional?
A: The category is 112% All Bosses*, which makes it required.
*It's impossible to actually do all bosses with the same save file without returning to it after credits, so we do kinda skip original Hollow Knight and Radiance.

Scoops Universe again it took me about a week, I didn’t just watch it all in one day. I also skipped around a lot. At the very start it was very drawn out, but got every quick by the very end of it.

I actually got stuck in the crystal peak without a lantern and it took me like a month to get through that dark room, it's brutal

I can’t say that I’ve followed Hollow Knight closely as a speed-game, but this run is just stellar to me. The back-to-back over-charmed coliseum run, nowhere near the last used bench, and the super ballsy delicate-flower run made me have to take a seat. The routing for White Palace was interesting. I wasn’t aware of those shortcuts. By the time you got to the Godseeker DLC, I swear I could physically see the endless hours of practice and grinding. You are monstrous at this game. This is a rough standard for a 112% run.

I just got this game and who tf is menderbug
Scoops Universe he’s a rare bug in the game. There’s around a 2% chance of him spawning when you head into that part of the forgotten crossroads. He will appear to fix the broken sign. He is the only menderbug in the game and can only be killed once. When you kill him, his house will open up in the small village next to the big that sells charms and you can read his diary.
I gave up trying to get him and then I saw it just now, so wild.

that fight took me like 10 attempts that god damn spear rope she throws got me so many times
Spear rope is easy. It's the way every boss is designed pisses/pissed me off. The game gives you good jumping abilities, but then fucks with you during boss fights as they just magically know where you are going to jump. Furious at that. Why give us the abilities if you just going to screw us over in the most difficult fights.
@@14caratgolddong58 You can literally SEE how each boss is scripted. I'm not talking about moves or patterns. I'm talking about how the they are programmed to jump to your location as soon as you try to jump over them. It just forces you to ONLY do the fight their way without ANY derailment from your part. Why have the whole game about jumping, dashing and then in the boss fight you can't use any of that freedom to defeat the boss ? I get memorizing attacks, but not memorizing to jump ONLY when an attack is coming. As soon as you jump while nothing is happening, you get screwed immediately. Like a homing missile just straight from heaven. Perfect example is Grey Prince Zote. All the skill in the world won't save you from that. Even in this video the guy beats him by just spamming spells while still getting hit by his shitty attacks. Wtf is the point of a boss like that ?
@@lomaply What's funny is I literally have no problems with Primal Aspids. Maybe when facing 3 at once, but even 2 isn't so bad. There's also no reason you should ever be fighting more than 2 at once, usually only 1. Unless you are trying to speed through, they are easy to take out.

To be fair, the guy's probably put hundreds of hours into the game before this run, so he's still probably got you beat in terms of total play time.
Yeah this guy probably sinked more than 500 hours into the game. That's the only advantage speedrunners has, they got the time.

I played quite a bit of hollow knight, thought I basically beat it; watching this makes me realize that I barely scratched the surface of what can be done. Also doing all of this would probably take me so long, and I would probably give up on a good chunk of it. It's crazy how good some people are at things. Saw a lot of things I didn't even know were possible to do gameplay wise in this too. Such a good video.
There is also a few things he didn't do in this run (although obviously it doesn't contribute to 112%). So there is plety of unspoiled content besides this video. Go explore and find every bit. Nothing greater than the feeling of discovering somthing

I found this video by complete accident, clicked on it as I refreshed my recommendations over 2 years ago and was greeted by one of, if not, the most special game to me till this day. I don't know how I would've been had I not discovered this game, and I'm forever grateful that this funny little void lad changed my life for the better

As a beginner (I’m on my very first run on PS4) I’m super impressed how fluid and flawless your gaming style is. But one question: when you get new abilities I hear a high pitched „oh“ which never heard in the game before, is this really in the game?
Zote the mighty That the notification that a new objective has been completed. Notice the right side? Whenever he reaches a new objective it lets the viewers know.
That sound is his notification that he's done a portion of the game (segment) faster than he ever has before. So, to answer your more direct question it is primarily out of game. Though it is a sound that a character in this game makes, we don't see that character hardly enough for all the sounds in his runs.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's a sound from bretta, the bug you rescue near mantis village in fungal wastes. She makes the sound every she sees you from the bench in dirtmouth (of course, after you rescue her) although as the other commenters mentions he uses it as a notification for when he has beaten his record on a segment
