Yeah, I had the same error. After doing research, this only happens to legit purchased ps one eboots from the psn store. I wanted to have legit licensed copies backed up to play anywhere but it's not looking to be the easiest process at the moment. EDIT: this guy has a great tutorial for converting legit psp copies th-cam.com/video/EFrpWT8yQAw/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TutorialsForTheWin
@RoboKing's Cosmos yes how do i decrypt please? i thaught i tried that already?... what do you mean by pirating? i just want to save/rescue my old games in my collection.
I FIGURED IT OUT. the EBOOT.PBP file CAN be read. if u "copy/paste" the "SLUS/NPUI/NPUJ/NPEF" file that contains the EBOOT.PBP inside of it into the "game" folder on your PS3 (that contains the other "SLUS/NPUI/NPUJ/NPEF" files) and then install the separate "crack" pkg file on to the ps3 (or activate the rap file via "ReactPSN" or "Apollo") it'll work. I used it for Metal Gear Solid 1 and it worked PERFECTLY
I prefer keeping the games as pbp format as they are smaller size but nothing is ripped for it. You should make a video about that so a lot of people can benfit from it 😊
@@NagatosRevenge I'm going to convert all my .PBP files back to Bin/Cue using your guide (i did convert them to eboot.pbp years ago, but forgot how) Anyways, once i've done that i will be using CHDMAN tool to convert the Bin/Cue files to .CHD instead to use with RetroArch emulator PCSX core. CHD files are more compressed than .PBP format, and is lossless compression, i think .PBP is lossy compression (meaning no quality loss) but i could be wrong. Also like .PBP, CHD becomes just one single file, not multiple which becomes messy in a folder.
@@SRC267 what core will you be using? I'm looking at tidying up my ROMs and don't know what format I want. Will most likely go with eboot since I need that for PSP and it's compatible with retroarch
@@dathotbox On my PC i will use the Beetle PSX HW core, on my Android it will be PCSX ReARMed. Because the latter is more optimized for low end CPU. My PC can handle the former core. For your CD format games, I'd convert the majority to .CHD and the multi-disc games to .PBP (CHD doesn't have the ability to merge multiple CDs into one file) I've done this to my PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast, TurboGrafx-CD and Mega CD files. But if you plan to use your PSP for most of your emulation then stick to that format. CHD is more of a archive purpose format. Also to get the best files, look out for redumps on archive.org and no-intro ROMs for cartridge based files. The former are CD based files, no-intro are things like Genesis, SNES, GBA etc. This way you know your files are validated and match to the database entry.
@@SRC267 thanks for the quick reply. I think I'll go pbp for PS1 games and chd for anything else to keep the clutter down. Cheers for that link too much appreciated :)
I need a little help mate. I have a working Bust a Move 2 EBOOT for psp but it runs without music. I tried following the steps in this video but the game isn't even appearing on the psp. I just want to figure out a way to get PS1 games with their music as they're meant to be played. I've had this issue with Bust a Move 2, Bust a Move '99 and Grand Theft Auto EBOOT for PSP.
These are great for graphics, but how do I actually create custom homebrew PS1 games from scratch? (Or PSP/N64/Dreamcast games?) I'm looking for the easiest 3D console to homebrew for that can run in an emulator.
can you do this with a lot of games at the same time? I downloaded a colletion of ps1 games (262gb) and they are all in pbp format. I really dont want to convert all the games one by one thats why im asking
Hello! Nice vid dude! Just one question, What can I do if the compresion says "0% compression"? I am trying to convert an ISO of the video game King's field I (Japan) and the iso is patched but the file appears as corrupted on my PSP. All advises are welcome. Thanks in advance.
