      Fun video, however your plan link - www.bikecitywoodworks.com/s/MiniAndonLamp.pdf - appears to be broken or the file is missing....

    Cool little lanterns. I think the handmade paper really completes the look.

    I'm currently working on a project to build a Japanese lantern that will sit upon a 3 inch diameter bamboo section (24 inches long) that will serve as the post. I plan to do a kumiko style Andon lantern and have watched so many TH-cam videos on construction techniques. But your video was the BEST! I've downloaded your plans and they will be very helpful when I scale the dimensions to fit my project. Thank you so much for posting this video and making the plans available.

    thanks for a great video . i had already made the kumiko panels , but wasnt sure how to go about making the frame. i am set now. i will also make a copy of your kumiko sled. TH-cam is a lifesaver here in the Philippines .

    Wow! What a great video about the process! I stumbled across this from your Instructables entry, but I've subscribed to the channel to watch for future projects.

    Very nice.. but authentic kumiko has beautiful complex joints that require no glue or nails... its an incredible time consuming japanese skill which is wonderfully relaxing to watch. Your stuff is a nice shortcut .. it may look like kumiko but its not

      Traditional kumiko sometimes had rice glue 🤷

    Great video, thanks for sharing. A video on the small router table would be good also. It looks like it is sized right for projects like this. What bit did you use for the chamfers?

    • @BikeCityWoodworks
      @BikeCityWoodworks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback! The router table is pretty handy for sure. The chamfer bit is from Ryobi - it came in one of those sets of bits. It works alright, but I'm sure there are nicer out there.

    Hi, tell me where can I buy Washi paper? I can’t find what I need for Andon in Russia ...

      I don't use washi paper in particular, but you can find mulberry paper on Amazon!
