- New versions of the Japanese mini lamps I made a while ago. Frame and dimensions are almost the same, but I have added a USB LED lighting circuit so they can be lit from any laptop, phone charger etc and placed on a desk or any suitable space. Yes, I had the same thoughts. This is why the plastic stuff is cheap and why real handmade objects with natural materials are better in every way.
I agree...I have not the patience or skill to work wood to metal tolerances...it also says he uses high quality materials and tools. Working metal like that is not that hard, working wood like that will always be impressive to me.

These lamps are beyond incredible. I can't imagine having the patience and precision to make these things. I would go insane trying to make one of these, let alone multiple.

I like the electronic design alot. It's so easily replacable if it ever breaks and also properly recycling it is a matter of seconds!

to be honest, this is what i find relaxing. poring myself a drink, dim down the lights and watch this video. the jazz is a + too for extra chillness.

I really enjoy watching these videos sometimes I do ponder what it would take to get started but in turn I imagine it can be frustrating at times.
I attempted to make a couple of this style lamp for my sister last xmas, the pieces are still on my workbench awaiting another attempt. I learned a great deal as to how your precision cuts are made. Thank you
Cuts are important, but also the pieces they need to be perfectly squared and straight before so you can register them to eventual jigs or make markings etc then perform the cuts

I dig the music choices, too. I can only take so much dubstep while watching people build stuff.
