- This video will show you quick steps on how to reset the 'Service due' reminder on the BMW 5 Series F10/F11 (2010-2016). The process is really simple to do yourself and doesn't require any tools.
You will need to do this after changing the oil since most likely the 'Service Oil' indicator has popped up and that's what prompted you to change the oil. Brake fluid and other reminders on the BMW work the same way.
Here are the steps:
1. Get in the car and close all the doors
2. Press the Start/Stop button (without pressing on the brake pedal, so not starting the car)
3. Clear the reminders from the dashboard by pressing the dashboard button
4. Hold down the dashboard button until you get into the service menu and then release
5. Press the dashboard button to scroll through the service menu items to find the one you want to reset
6. Hold down the dashboard button until it asks you do you want to reset, you can release at this point
7. Start holding the button again to perform the reset

Thank You, The Mechanic and I were super lost on how to reset my BMW vehicle but your video was very helpful ❤
Great to hear that 🤗
thank you, very useful.
You are welcome!
My oil reset returned unsuccessful. This was due to the time not being set. After I set the time, the reset succeeded.
Thanks for sharing
This does not work. Nothing happens when I hold down the button.
