I remembered the time subscribing to the channel when it was heavily overlooked and voila! I thought that I just discovered a hidden gem, and I was like "Just look at what I found."
the thing is the only thing Haas need to solve for now is the tyre degredation, Hulkenberg showed several times in qualifying that the car itself has the pace for the midfield
I see where you’re coming from, but if every other team can improve 0.3-0.7seconds faster like they did last year, it won’t matter how fast they can quali.
The two traits are very likely related. A car that works its tires hard can get them in a better window for qualifying by warming them up more on the out-lap.
McLaren, Aston Martin and VCARB should also be included. Also, Ferrari literally guaranteed Their own limitations by staying with a pull rod rear suspension thus assuring that Their tire degredation issue remains. This could easily place them into the Mid-Pack as the season progresses
At 2:00, The Race even implied Alpine will be consigned to the midpack, with not even a consideration of Alpine regularly challenging for race victory! 😮
Because is there something to be expected of them? Alpine has been a midpack team for two seasons now. Sauber is again on the ropes after, again, having a mediocre season. So unless they surprise everyone in testing and the first few races, Alpine will probably be 5th/6th again and Sauber will be, again, fighting with Haas for the last spot in the standings.
"RB" are in a no win situation. If they show up and do bad, people criticism them for it. If they show up and do well, people will say Redbull helped them to much.
VCARB could easily be in the top 4 straight out of the gate. Ferrari botched Their rear suspension, and Mercedes botched Their front suspension. Both will suffer more from tire degredation issues because the aero platform is still not correctly stabilized.
@@stephensegal5187just because they didn't follow RB in susp doesn't mean it's botched. You can't follow someone to beat them, you NEED to innovate and they are teams with thousands of GENIUS engineers, pretty sure they might know something we don't.

@@stephensegal5187 they already achieve it already. Their concept already have a lot and quite consistent downforce, showed by many poles in 2022 and 2023. The tyre degradation is also solved after the summer break, then after Japan floor update, Ferrari looks like become 2nd fastest car in most of the race. The problem that SF-23 have is sensitive with wind that makes car not predictable and eat more tyres, so I guess that's why they primarly want to make it easier to drive so the car can be really fast.
Long time viewer, and I’m not sure what it is but the past month or so the videos have really been hitting. Maybe something in the editing or the approach. Very good. Great content!
I think Ferrari is going under the radar simply because it does not look more revolutionary than the RB. We always forget they fought just behing RB winning poles when the car was "crap". Even having simply a car that works will massively improve Ferrari pace. People are sleeping on its mechanics.
I do find it amusing that every year, just prior to pre-season testing videos come out proclaiming that finally we will get an idea of the pace of the new cars. Only to see teams running planned tests that really don't show the true pace of their car and collect data that only they can decipher. My hope is that we will get to see some running with setups for the following weekends race, if weather conditions are similar.
The most interesting question for me is about Andretti. Why teams are so afraid of them? F1 even revealed Ham contract situation just to overwhelm these news...
Nobody is afraid, Andretti simply costs them their revenue, the bag of money needs to be split in 11 in stead of 10. Each team, including the weakest team, gets prize money at the end of the season. Andretti would be the P11 team for several seasons and that would only mean that the other teams get less money from FOM. And GM pulled out of the Andretti deal cos they don’t want to supply any engine until 2028. Andretti had no engine supplier…and that was 1 of the requirements…so the Andretti deal fell apart. Its that simple. F1 is a business. F1 is a constructors championship, not a spec series like Indycar. Any new team would need several seasons of experience in F1 to get to a sort of competitiveness. These current regs for the cars are truly difficult, even Merc has issues understanding them as seasoned F1 team. Its that simple. Nobody is scared. All teams know that Andretti would be the backmarker…

Historically, their branding has amounted to "legally distinct Red Bull Racing.", their first name is just Red Bull translated to italian, and their first liveries were darkly coloured with a full red, highly detailed bull on the engine cover. As time went on their identity changed, seemingly distancing themselves from Red Bull while still taking as much technical help as legally possible. They changed colours in 2017 to a lighter blue and silver, tested the Honda engines one year before RBR had them in 2018, changed their entire identity in 2020 to "AlphaTauri" (another elaborate "Red Bull" wordplay) with navy and white colours, but their functioning has been much the same; test new drivers to feed into the main team. Recently, it has been said that the plans for the junior team was to turn it into more of a sister team, take as much from the better team as legally possible and try to keep both competitive. We are yet to see how this plays out, but AlphaTauri is now "RB", the RB does not stand for anything in specific, even though "Racing Bulls" is trademarked. mclarens sidepod inlets just look like the basic ones mercedes ran in the 2022 pre season testing, makes me wonder if they're hiding something there... or if, as a fan, i should be getting worried (again)!!!
The question for me is: are these even the cars they would race in? Or they are just a showcase to test certain performances of the car. I have seen in the past few seasons that true reveals are only done just before the Quali of the first race. Hence there isnt much we can dive deep into as they are a lot different on the quali day.
Doesn't necessarily mean deliberate obfuscation, it could just mean the spec that is manufactured for testing was locked in earlier while development continued on a spec to be finalised just in time to be manufactured for the first race.
They will never show the full car in testing cos the choice of rear wing, front wing, air inlet, amount of cooling louvres is dependable on the weather and the choice of set up in the race weekend. The cars change slightly almost each race, they have standard different rear wings, air inlets and louvres parts available.
@@TassieLorenzoexactly, that too. And also in race weekend they chose the best rear wing size, amount of cooling louvres as is necessary for their chosen set up for that race. So the car always changes a bit each race weekend
I agree with your comments but there can be teams like Mercedes for instance last year had a completely different design with the side pods against the one they brought to race weekend. Unfortunately didnt work for them as we know but teams do come up with innovative practical solutions that are mostly seen during a race weekend.
#11 - Does Mr. Andretti come out to testing to show that he's still trying to get on the grid? No car, obviously, but just his presence would be interesting.
😂 he wouldn’t be an interesting subject cos GM pulled out of the deal and only wants to supply any engine until 2028. Andretti has a new chance in 2028, that’s 4 yrs so not a real subject now in 2024
@@Redlingstein GM was always a supplier for 2028 onwards, nothing's changed there. His application stated to enter in either 2025 or 2026, which he could still do 2026 with Renault as a supplier (as initially planned for a 2025 entry). Keeping pressure on the commercial rights holders would help his case, I think, as the governing body has said he's good to race. Technically, there's nothing stopping him from showing up to a race in 2025 and trying to qualify. His team just wouldn't get any prize money or mention/airtime in broadcasts.
@@Redlingstein GM never pulled out. The FIA tender process for becoming an extra PU supplier meant that the EARLIEST GM could supply their own engines is 2028. This was factored in to the bid. Andretti and the parties involved knew this. He even had a deal with Renault BEFORE GM even announced it would be building an in-house PU. It was going to be 'badged' cadillac similar to how Red Bull badged the Renault PU TAG and how they're now badging the Honda PU as RBPT.
Haas is such a strange team. Their big USA upgrade fails so they promote the technical director and lead designer responsible. I hope the underdogs do well but the way they sabotage themselves between Haas and their lack of facilities and engineers who might actually improve the car and Williams keeping Sargeant when he finished 21st in the championship it's hard to root for them.
What does it mean for Mercedes if Red Bull have chose a "zero" sidepod concept and manage to make it work on their platform? Could be an article or video in it
I dont think Ferrari needs a ton of innovation. If they can get on top of their tire deg and reliability issues, that should be enough to get the car 95% of the way there. Then it would just need a few tweaks for those last 2 to 3 tenths.
So true I still believe that Ferrari is the second fastest team despite finishing third... Tyre Deg killed them two years in a row with multiple other issues. Fingers crossed this time around the car is super quick without any problems
It's kinda sad when you think Max said in many many of his podcasts that he never went 100% on any lap in 2023. That was so much potential in that car, it could smash the competiton even harder. Even if Ferrari solves their tyre deg and gets closer to 0.2-0.3s/lap (race pace), RB20 will already be on another level, pulling the gap to over 1s. It's the same old scenario that happend in Mercs years. All the hype will end after 1st lap in Bahrain. I know it s sad for the sport that we won t get any fight for 1st place, but Newey is a fucking genius and every member on the team should praise him as long as they have him. These regulations are perfect for his knowledge.
@@matmatmatamatvsjdjfh Dude, let's get some things clear. 1. Qualiy doesn't mean a shit when you have such a fast car in race pace. Max could start p20 im every race and still win them by 10+s. They made their setup only for racepace. 2. It was 22/23 for RB. Singapore it's simply a track that not suits them. It's IMPOSSIBLE to creat a car that can be the fastest on EVERY circuit. Or, at least, till 2023 it wasn't possible. I bet RB20 will win Singapore also, so they can have a perfect year. 3. They still won Azerbaijan, but not with Max. No one can compete with that car and no one can argue this. So, please, stop arguing cause you will never find and argument against Newey and this car.
The complexity of F1 is as fascinating as it is frustrating. Whether it’s power unit advances or aero, the top teams can’t seem to bridge the gap to RB. It will be a long season if Max is a second ahead by the first lap in Bahrain. Not to say he doesn’t deserve to be.
Red bull car was already at the limit last year , there is not much they can do even if they change the body a little to look different 🤔 cooling and lowering weight along with warming the tire earlier was the key areas needed improvements. The other teams will improve simply because they have a wider gap and more room for improvements.
Prediction: Teams that stay where they are: Redbull Mclaren Williams Teams that make step up: Aston RB Mercedes Alfa romeo Teams that make a step down Ferrari Alpine Haas
It would be amusing if Williams rocks up with a podless car design like the old merc and the new red bull seems to be heading in and does better than the silver arrows.
The title of this season ladies and gentlemen: "The truth will set you free" - to race - to chase - to win - or bin - to stay - to leave - to finally be believed. What's the one sure thing you'll hear a lot The Dutch National Anthem, wheter you like it or not.
You never watched 2014-2020 then….when LH was 1min ahead almost each race…cos of that dominant hybrid engine. Bottas was almost all races P2…. They had almost all Quali’s P1 and P2… You wouldn’t have watched any of those races then….
All the preseason deep fakes will basically be exposed. But still there will be extensive sand bagging to hide true speed. Glimpses of performance yes but not much more. And applause to Williams for keeping all in the dark and focusing on the true task at hand getting ready for testing. Who will get the most test laps in? My pick is RB.
@@Redlingstein if you ever watched F1 for more than a couple of years you would have known you get no answers in practice especially FP1. We don't know what fuel loads the teams are running in the practice sessions
I’m wondering if Red Bull is pranking everyone with their side pod design on the launch car. The launch car design appears to incorporate too many elements of Mercedes failed “zero side pod” design. We’re about to find out 👍😎
As long as they have Newey in their team, they can make every concept work better than whole grid. At this moment, they're just come to work for fun knowing this RB20 will smash every dream. Until ground-effect regulations are over (or Newey leaves the team), it's game over for everyone.
Maybe, but why waste development dollars on fake body parts - even fakes cost a ton to design and produce. Its not like any serious rival is going to change their design this close to testing based on pictures of a launch car - authentic or not.
I don't think RB will be as competitive as they were the last 2 seasons. They tried a different way and it's a hit or miss at this point just like Mercedes did after 21. We'll see who's really on top at Q3.

With all the silly season chaos this season just feels like an interlude to 2025
I couldn't care less about when Lewis told Toto he was leaving or why he made the decision. Looking forward to seeing racing again.
Does anyone know where I can watch F1 testing online?
That Alpha Tauri Pace for Mexico is just Danny Ric 😂😂
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum 4ten Titel Max.👍
Really hope we don’t get to the end of this week realising nobody has caught up and red bull has moved even further ahead
a bit more than a week....lets f***ing gooooooo
Which car will Break first ?
All we want to know is will Adrian Newey force Toto into a mental institution with those side pods.
Why do you have two different sections for Merc ? xD
Wish he brought a car and ran competitive times, that would be hilarious😂
Im going to miss Gunter on the wall
Haas is such a strange team. Their big USA upgrade fails so they promote the technical director and lead designer responsible. I hope the underdogs do well but the way they sabotage themselves between Haas and their lack of facilities and engineers who might actually improve the car and Williams keeping Sargeant when he finished 21st in the championship it's hard to root for them.
The biggest upgrade Aston could have is dropping Baby Stroll off the driver's roster.
kind of shocking how most teams and or their team bosses arent awere of the fact that the FIA begged Red bull to take on/over that team..
They know but are jealous and scared lol
Komatsu hasnt got it i reckon... They'll bumble around this season then a sale to Andretti would probably be best fit IMO.
Gene and Andretti have had beef for many years. Gene will not sell to Andretti….
Can we call the Visa team VRB?
Zak Brown would hate for Daniel to do well now.
I would LOVE to see DR’s smile when he beats McLaren 😁👌🏻
I don't know but has anyone noticed the weird triangle air intake of Ferrari?
When is the testing?
Tomorrow til Friday. On F1TV. From 8-17pm Europe time. 10-19pm local time
early prediction. V-CARB will rocket up the timesheets just infront of Mclaren
What does it mean for Mercedes if Red Bull have chose a "zero" sidepod concept and manage to make it work on their platform? Could be an article or video in it
they havent chosen a zero sidepod concept
@@CP-uk3sx we'll find out what they've chosen in testing
Did accommodating the Russell's height change the car?
Funny how Alpine is not even mentioned
Can't wait!
Alpine and “Sauber” have left the chat
am I wrong in thinking James Vowles seems like a great boss to have?
that thumbnail is hilarious
6:11 why hitting ferrari very hard, more than any others in grid?
@@emsan54 he must have went 100% in azerbaijan and singapore at least in quali
@@emsan54 the paragraph warrior strikes again
Guys, we get it. You don't like the VCARB name. You're the only ones that make such a fuzz about it. Move on.
That's how Red Bull felt between 2016 and 2020! The others will get there, even if takes eight seasons to get back on top like it did for Red Bull.
Red bull car was already at the limit last year , there is not much they can do even if they change the body a little to look different 🤔 cooling and lowering weight along with warming the tire earlier was the key areas needed improvements. The other teams will improve simply because they have a wider gap and more room for improvements.
I don’t think McLaren will be near merc or Ferrari
Racing bull are going to give them a tough time instead
Prediction:
Teams that stay where they are:
Redbull
Mclaren
Williams
Teams that make step up:
Aston
RB
Mercedes
Alfa romeo
Teams that make a step down
Ferrari
Alpine
Haas
It would be amusing if Williams rocks up with a podless car design like the old merc and the new red bull seems to be heading in and does better than the silver arrows.
The title of this season ladies and gentlemen: "The truth will set you free"
- to race
- to chase
- to win
- or bin
- to stay
- to leave
- to finally be believed.
What's the one sure thing you'll hear a lot
The Dutch National Anthem, wheter you like it or not.
Last day of testing, Toto said “Fudge, RB got the zero sidepod working, how?”
So many questions, so little time to answer them.
Correction: Mercedes has a push-rod front AND rear
I predict that Alpine will start losing to Williams, Alphatauri, and Sauber.
Going on last year I won't be watching I'll be fast asleep after lap 5
You never watched 2014-2020 then….when LH was 1min ahead almost each race…cos of that dominant hybrid engine. Bottas was almost all races P2…. They had almost all Quali’s P1 and P2… You wouldn’t have watched any of those races then….
I dont think the Mercedes front wing will be a huge improvement. It looks instable as hell and bounces like crazy.
The reaction of Mercedes when Red Bull's first major upgrade of the season is zero pod.
That thumbnail 😂
All the preseason deep fakes will basically be exposed. But still there will be extensive sand bagging to hide true speed. Glimpses of performance yes but not much more.
And applause to Williams for keeping all in the dark and focusing on the true task at hand getting ready for testing. Who will get the most test laps in? My pick is RB.
Yup I expect RB
No questions are answered in testing. We only start getting answers in Q1 on Saturday
No in FP1 on Thursday…
@@Redlingstein if you ever watched F1 for more than a couple of years you would have known you get no answers in practice especially FP1. We don't know what fuel loads the teams are running in the practice sessions
We need a full f1 fantasy strategy run down. Im shaky on my lineup
There is a lot of sand in Bahrain to fill lots of bags.
Hell yea
Zak Brown Crying will Intesify in 2024
😂😂😂 I’m all for it. The Bahrain Investment firm will give him a hard time 😂😂😂he’s no free agent anymore
What about stake 😭😭
It will very funny if they made the show car of rejected parts from previous years and they appear in testing with a car similar to the Ferrari 😂😂
@@emsan54 hes not a god, he still can make mistakes
@@1964mcqueenIts just the show car, they use these part for that. That doesn’t cost anything extra.
Keep it up 👆
Yay for the preseason when we all have hope that our team will win a race - and then Max wins Bahrain by 45 secs while taking a nap
The Race never leaves a moment untouched to push Horner under the misconduct bus.. v2
I don't think RB will be as competitive as they were the last 2 seasons. They tried a different way and it's a hit or miss at this point just like Mercedes did after 21. We'll see who's really on top at Q3.
