Bounce Infinity E1 electric scooter launched
Bengaluru-based EV start-up Bounce has launched its first electric scooter in India today, the Infinity E1. If the scooter looks familiar.
The Infinity E1 will be offered with a unique ‘Battery as a service’ option, where customers can either buy the scooter with the battery and the charger, or even avail the battery pack on a rental basis. The Bounce Infinity E1 has been priced at Rs 68,999 with the battery and charger, while it costs Rs 45,099 without the battery (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
For customers who buy the Infinity E1 without the battery pack, Bounce says that the batteries can be swapped for fully charged units through a dedicated battery swapping network. The company says it aims to have the world’s largest and densest battery-swapping platform with a swapping facility at every 1km distance. The company claims this will bring down running costs of the scooter by as much as 40 percent, as compared to conventional scooters. The Infinity E1 is the first electric scooter in India with battery swapping feature.
The Infinity E1 is powered by a 2kWh lithium-ion battery pack that provides a certified range of 85km per charge. While the company hasn’t quoted a power figure for the electric scooter, torque output for E1 stands at 83Nm. Bounce claims the Infinity E1 can sprint from 0 to 40kph in 8sec and has a top-speed of 65kph. The battery pack can be topped up in about 4 to 5 hours by connecting to any regular electric socket. Round LED projector headlamps with smart detailing, flush-fitting rear foot pegs, and stylish alloy wheels. The Infinity E1 will be available with a choice of five colors - Sporty Red, Sparkle Black, Pearl White, Desat Silver and Comes Grey - in either glossy or matte finish.
As for its features, the Bounce gets a digital instrument cluster, a reverse mode, cruise control and tow alert. It also gets a unique drag mode that allows the scooter to move along at walking speed, in case it has a puncture and you want to push it along. Bounce has provided a smart app with the Infinity E1 that can be connected via Bluetooth and used for geofencing, track the scooter remotely, check charging status and more. The scooter with battery and charger is at ₹68,999 (Delhi ex-showroom), and the price for scooters with battery-as-a-service is ₹45,099 (Delhi ex-showroom) plus subscription to battery-as-a-service. The pre-bookings start today with deliveries slated for March 2022 through its dealership network and its online platform.
Bounce Infinity comes with waterproof IP67 rated 48V battery with 39AH which generates 83Nm torque. It claims 85 km range in a single charge with a top speed of 65km/hr. Bounce Infinity can reach 0 to 40 kmph in 8 seconds.
The Bounce Infinity E1 looked retro design scooter’s , and has an LED headlight in a circular housing lights. The clear lens turn indicators and the tail light, too, has clear lens elements. The Infinity E1is having on 12-inch alloy wheels, has a telescopic fork up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The scooter comes with disc brakes front and rear, with a combi-brake system. It will be offered in a total of five colors.
The 2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack of the Bounce Infinity E1 - which has a claimed life of over 1,400 charging cycles - slots in beneath the seat, which means underseat storage space is limited to 12 litres, which is significantly smaller than the Ola Electric S1. Instead of a full-colour touchscreen like some other electric scooters around, the Bounce Infinity E1 has a simple digital instruments display.
