It could not be used for copyright reasons. Thriller was not solely composed by Michael. So, this game as well as its Genesis and Arcade counterparts used Another Part of Me track instead.
While this version has worse graphics and sound, I believe they tweaked some flaws from the Genesis version. Specifically they got rid of Bubbles, so now the endurance match start automatically without having to walk through the empty stage, and also I think the end boss makes more sense than the first person shooter from the original version.
It would,ve been great if this game supported FM sound and if it contained some voices to make it closer to the genesis port, also the final boss from the genesis could,ve be replicated in this version, that fact is eventrough it's not a bad port, but am aware that it could,ve done much better;note: the factory level looks bad because it uses red colors instead of great and you don't see monitors on those computer systems.
Michael Jackson is Fantastic but I think it's silly how in this game when you make Michael do his iconic dance moves you lose some health other than that it's a great game and the movie is brilliant and Michael Jackson is a legend king of pop to right he was he is and always will be the best
Truly,it's something I would say,just RUINED this legendary game I tested to clear on PC 2 years ago(play on emulator with an inferior video driver has it's limits…play on Mega Drive even with all on minimal setup,NO CHANCE!!!!!!Headache after headache),if had some specific bar for powerups only would be totally ok…

i played this version of moonwalker at the birmingham anime & gaming con last sunday. i got past the first two levels of the club 30 stage but i kept dying on my way to the third level and couldn't get any further. this is quite a good game, but i wish there had been a motorcycle stage akin to hang-on and road rash in both home versions of the game given the video to the song speed demon had jacko wearing a biker hare outfit and being chased by some obsessed animated characters on a highway, and at the end of the vid the copper gave him what i thought was a parking ticket for moonwalking. the film was great and so were the master system and megadrive versions.

Not really, Golden Axe and Ghouls and Ghosts were fantastic on the Master System. Thunderblade was actually a better game than Super Thunderblade and Moonwalker played better on the Master system.
This came out the same time the Arcade game was made. It was Arcade games that were getting ported to the Master System like Shinobi and Afterburner and whatnot. Moonwalker on the Genesis came out in 1990. This was in '89 like the original Arcade game.
That final boss though! 😂...I FINALLY just beat him, just now! OMG! I spent a whole hour just trying to find a pattern...I still couldn't find one, but I somehow managed to BS my way to the end! 🤣 Feels good, man!

It nearly ruined the video game market (and unlike the overrated "Video Game Crash" of '83 it would've affected the whole world and not just one country) It's a sad thing considering the Master System was vastly superior to the NES and the games could've been a whole lot better
The graphics are incredible for Master System, but that had such a horrible sound chip! I know it is Texas Instruments, but I do not like it. The NES had far inferior graphics, but an awesome sound chip.

I love the Shinobi style next to final boss! Impressive little game honestly. Large sprites, looks to play well, and sounds pretty decent.

At least if you have a bad PC,you'll have to walk freely on the stages better than Genesis

It's a very frustrating fight. I never got past it as a kid, years later I managed on emulator and felt a bit cheated that there was no stage 6-3!
