    As an owner I can say that the power definitely opens up after ~800 miles. Can't explain it, but it just drives better overall after the break in =)

      BlueBackflip Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear that it gets better after a good break in period.

    The power plant is fine as it is. Why? If you want sports car acceleration,then buy a spots car. All in all,good review!👍

    thanks for review. I've been deciding between this and cx-5.. if it wasn't for the low power engine I would probably have chosen this car, but because of that and the quietness and handling of the cx-5 I am leaning that way.

      My pleasure! Glad I could help! I am actually going to be reviewing the new CX-3,5, and 9 models in the near future. I do wish the Crosstrek had a higher power output option as well.

      The biggest benefit of this over the cx5 is the awd. There is no comparison as far as offroad, and bad weather to subarus awd.

      I test drove both.. I personally think the Crosstrek handles better, The rides are a bit different, but both are pretty nice. The price distinguishes the difference, A Subaru Crosstrek Premium at $23890, is by far a better deal..

    My Ford Grand Marque has a V8 but only 145 horse power, big car, lousy mileage, this car has great mileage and a hell of a lot lighter.

    Not any more in 2019 each car has one motor. 182 max HP and 152 HP....

    I know the 2.0 & 2.5 has a long history of burning oil, not sure if the 3.6 burns oil as much. Their have been lawsuits filed against subaru in the past few yrs

    • @LorraDear1
      @LorraDear1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They fixed that problem.

      Not true since model year 2014.

      I m sorry but thats not true. Oil burning started on the first gen crosstrek and affected mostly the manual transmissions. The only long history of problems subaru has had is head gasket issues on 2.5 engines. I had a 2005 forester with 235000km and it still had the original head gasket with no real problems except some small oil drips. They are not perfect cars but if you live in a snow belt area they make winters more enjoyable.

    Great car but expect to add oil every 30 days & replace timing belts before 80k miles 😐

    • @NEMotoGuy
      @NEMotoGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting, I didn't realize they had oil consumption issues? This motor doesn't seem to be running too aggressive to burn much. Do you own one? I'd be curious to hear long term ownership thoughts on this.

      I have the 2016 model never used a bit in 14000 miles .... not sure why people keep saying this shit to be honest

      2014 WRX and 2016 Impreza neither have burned a drop in 25k miles

    • @hudsonbob
      @hudsonbob 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No oil consumption problems with my 2012 Legacy with 80k miles. Only issues have been rusting (replaced oil pan and exhaust system due to rusting).
