Given what happened when he tried Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" for a defunct coasters compilation, I'm not surprised Chris decided not to risk it.
Killington is nicknamed "The Beast" because it's one of the largest ski areas in New England (and the Northeast). That's probably why they named their coaster "Beast Mountain Coaster" Also Dragon vs Dragon vs Dragon should be next.
"It starts off with your classic crooked lift hill" "with shivering timbers set to open in 17 years," "you know, the one with the dragon that ate the special brownies" "George Herbert Walker Bush shutting down Wonderland Sydney" I'm dying 😂😂😂😂
Riding The Beast at KI during the night in 2023 for the first time is something I'll never forget. It truly is legendary. I didn't think it'd be THAT different than the daytime. Been riding coasters for nearly 40 years and it's a crime I didn't do it sooner. I hope you get to finally experience it this year!
During the day it's sort of an aggressive train ride through the woods (except for the helix.) Its long, it's an experience and it has some rough spots but it's worth doing. Front row night rides feel VERY different. It's as enveloping an experience as the best indoor coasters. The elements feel more intense. It feels faster (even than an evening ride.) Its genuinely ominous. And every dip feels much stronger because you don't know to brace for it. And the helix just feels maddening at night.
@@AirtimeThrillsYou gotta get a night ride on The Beast after the fireworks. So great. Personally, I liked it better before the retrack because it was a little brutal. Front row for the helix ftw.
A night ride on The Beast the first time was probably the closest I’ve come to shitting my pants on a coaster. The night time really ramps up that intensity and feeling you’re not gonna make it back alive 😂
Went to Kings Island last August. How can you not love The Beast? It's a legendary coaster. It's long and unique. The double helix at the end is awesome. And they've taken great care of it considering how old it is.
Wilde Beast in the front car is the only woodie at Canada's Wonderland worth riding: Once. The others: Never. I discovered that in 2021. When I finally visited Kings Island for the 1st time in June 2023: I rode The Beast a few times, including a night ride in row 17. One of the times I rode it an autistic person spent the entire ride talking to the train expressing condolences to its son because Son of Beast was dead. She sat next to a friend that was kind enough to say nothing, and I was just an unplanned audience member sitting it the same car alone in the row behind them, thinking 'I thought I was weird,' and also 'I'm glad she's not being bullied'. The Beast is my favourite of the coasters with the word Beast in it but it doesn't even crack my top 30 of the 160 coasters I've ridden. Thanks for posting, Airtime Thrills!
I would have thought you would make a pun of KI The Beast, “at night, it’s a totally different animal”. I’m glad my home park has such a legendary coaster in The Beast. But sadly also, a legendary failure in SOB. Plus, the Beastie was nice name for a family coaster. The logo was a little cute with stubby claws held with ropes.
I visited Camelot last in 89 rode the beast, marathon tower of terror and dragon flyer witch was power train that went round the park. The beast was a cool ride for a 9 year old. Pitch black ride that finished by going through a light up mouth of the beast.
I went on the bush beast as a kid. Ownership change, and the park was going downhill at that point. Closed a couple of years later where the problems continued. Former employees broke into the park to rescue captive animals that had been abandoned in their enclosures by the owner.
Kings Island is my big home park and since I’m from West Virginia and live 45 minutes away from Camden Park……..it is my little home park. I remember when Screamin Demon came from KI to CP. They named it Thunderbolt Express. I marathoned that thing every time I went to CP, which was usually 2-3 times a season. I also rode SOB it’s opening season, and a few more after that. Everyone always hate on SOB but I loved it. I have never to go ride the Voyage to compare so until then Beast is my favorite wood coaster. But I loved Son. I rode it with and without the loop. It was an exhilarating ride. Especially the climb up that first hill. At the same time, it did beat ya to death. But it was still great.
You should do more of these "cynical" videos. Loved the comedy. My fav was the first one, the Beastie... Just kidding, although that actually is a pretty good coaster for being a kids coaster.
Another installment from my favorite series! Let me know when you finish that backyard coaster, and I'll test ride it for you. It's about time that we double the coaster count in our city.
This summer I'm getting to Cedar Fair and Kennywood for the 2nd time and Kings Island for the first time. Really looking forward to Beast, Top Thrill 2, Maverick, Steel Curtain, Phantom Revenge. (All new credits) and of course reriding the greatest coaster ever...Steel Vengeance
This video was awesome because I learned of an old amusement park about 20 minutes from my crib, Edgewater. This is the first time I ever heard of this place and the pics looked very cool. I guess in the 60's Ticket admission included music from Mowtown stars like Aretha and The 4 Tops. What a great value! What's cool is that Detroit is world famous for their famous Death Slide (a youtube legend) - but that amusement park had a clone of that very same slide.
I wish that they'd go back to the original 4 bench Beast cars and can't believe that, all these years later, they still haven't charged the loading gates to match the newer trains' configuration
I love how these videos are a lot less serious than other ranking/comparison videos on your channel. Gave me a good laugh, especially with The Big Beast and ALL of Edgewater Park shutting down because Shivering Timbers was set to open in (checks notes) 17 years 😂
9:14 Canada's Wonderland may have more coasters than Cedar Point and Kings Island, but it has the worst two combos of both wooden and steel coasters. While Cedar Point has the best two steel coaster combo (SV and Maverick), Canada's Wonderland has Time Warp and Flight Deck. Then Kings Island has The Beast and Mystic Timbers for best woodie combo, and then Canada's Wonderland has Wilde Beast and Minebuster.
The New Beast at Alton towers is incredibly funny to me because it was RIGHT next to nemesis. When nemesis opened the forbidden valley section of the park was a full blown themed area. Rusted buildings, Crashed vehicles, cool rockwork. Even walk around actors in the first year. And right next to all of that you have a Schwarzkopf jumbo jet sitting on temporary foundations in bright red. Not the best look!
Next up for the tone change, it gotta be country or state names represented by a coaster with the country or state name in the name, example Canadian Spinebuster for Canada, Carolina Cyclone Carolina, etc etc
Finally Wilde Beast got some recognition! It’s great if you avoid a wheel seat. Especially on the first car. Can you do parodies of the “roller coaster” names? That would be very interesting. Would love to see that. Anyways, love the video!
To be honest Son of Beast should have easily been number two. It was a bit rough but man was it fun. Getting to that vertical loop was a success story. The rose bowl was so intense it is hard to describe. All in all it was a lot of fun. I would marathon this whenever I could. The father is easily number one but the son should have taken number two.
Still, it might be his number two in the park behind Wildcat's Revenge because he isn't that crazy with Skyrush's layout, and Wildcat's Revenge isn't on his top 10, so he's gonna sell this, for now, until Wildcat's Revenge gives Chris an amazing ride along with Skyrush on his next visit if possible.
certainly interesting with the throw backs to all the VS vids... once you get to the point where theres no more VS left, a full circle video could be one that puts all the coaster names that have duplicates of them, and who has the most reused name, and in each catagory it goes over which one is the best coaster in relation to either all the other top coasters of each group or some other metric.... would make for a great mega vid

I wanna say the Australian version was called the Bush Beast because in Australian lingo, "the bush" refers to the Australian wilderness.
