    Very impressive, well-built and tidy, not only functional(VERY!) but looks professional especially next to some of the other builds that look flimsy and untidy, it's a pleasure to watch someone take PRIDE in their workmanship, thank you.

      YOU NEED AN AUTOMOTIVE BATTERY CHARGER... A 5GAL BUCKET, ...
      AND 1/4cup BORAX.... TO DERUST FERROUS, AND CASTIRON, INCLUDING POLISHED AND PLATED ALLOYS.

      AveRage Joe . I really want to make an HHO gen but its finding the time . When I have finished building my house I want to convert my instant hot water heater to HHO .Do you reckon its possible ?
      I like saving money and doing stuff myself . I did put 5kw of solar panels on my workshop. Last months electric bill was four bucks ! So I figure if I can gen HHO from solar I can save money on propane. Anyway ,I just thought you showed so many ways to use whats around you to make great stuff . I have two piston compressors for my wood shop but using a fridge unit was pure genius ./ Never would have thought of that . I keep all my plumbing/air fittings cos you can use them to do so many things .And its all BSP thread ! So easy to mix and match stuff .
      Most people dont realise how much you can kill your bills if you tool up and get smart eh ?
      Great fun watching you get in there and nailing it . Cheers.

    • @AveRage_Joe
      @AveRage_Joe  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Brian Minghella Thanks! Yeah I keep everything (hoarder in training lol) because the possibilities are endless. I never buy things or pay others unless I have to. I think its totally possible. It would take some tinkering for sure to get it tuned. You cant store hho under pressure but you can store hydrogen by itself without the O. There is a vid floating around where a guy shows his house with hydrogen storage and such. Ill look for it and post it here.

    • @brianminghella3312

      AveRage Joe . Hoarding useful stuff is good . i did not throw out my old instant gas heater when it tanked because the heat Exchanger is still good and i figure I can use that again . I was fixing from Birth ! I remember making those little rubber band planes with the red plastic propellor when I was only four years old . Remember those ? I pimped dads old racing bike as soon as I was tall enough to get my leg over it . Stuff like that . Building our new house right now so thats full on. But yeah ,this Hydrogen thing man ,if a guy can pull off his own HHO gen youve got it made .
      I drilled a well so now we dont have water bills. Electricity bill is way way down. If i can kill the hot water bill and cook with HHO gas thats massive money in back pocket .
      Bills are killers . Lots of people are beggining to struggle meeting them with interest rates creeping up again .
      I really like the container system you use . Its so logical .
      Im thinking on demand via battery power may be the way to get the gas. Storage does worry me a bit . i looked in to Nickel iron but they are pricey . Lets hope the next gen batts get even cheaper .
      Glass ,graphene, so many types coming on line soon by the looks of it .
      I try not to go to the tip to often because you can end up with a lot of junk to get to the good stuff . Then you gotta pay to dump it back there .
      Scored a bunch of bar /tube/i beam stock a few weeks back . Nice ! Cheers
      Bri.

Fun times lol. Yeah I remember those planes, I would try to always make them fly "longer" LOL. HHO is fun to use especially after you built it and its capable of cutting steel (blowing up trash bags). Ive looked at drilling for water my house for the same reason. The best HHO generator I've seen as of now. I think that I would like to replicate what you've done, but add the super-secret HF PWM power delivery feature. If I could trouble you for the PDF build plans, I might be able to help you by showing you how to design a better power supply. I'm an EE and work with power electronics and switching power supply designs.
    I like your design because your 316 SS plates look like they were just fabricated with the nice sharp edges on each of them. Also, the slightly green, 1 year old used electrolyte looks like there is very little erosion of the plates. You're doing something right. I could also help you with the air delivery system and the "shape air" control with my background in electro-pnuematics too.

    • @AveRage_Joe
      @AveRage_Joe  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! Yeah a real pwm is optimal for this genny. There are plans in the pdf for a power supply but I never had time to build it. I also dont have an o-scope for fine tuning! Let me know if you build it!!!
      The SS is either 316L or H. Its been so long ago I dont remember lol but was laser cut into 6x6. I always used rubber gloves when handling the plates especially after the sanding and cleaning phase. Once the plates are properly preparied they shouldnt leave much of anything in the water. Ah heck you will see in the pdf lol. Let me know if you end up building it all. Would love to hear.

    I like the idea but I'd imagine there's at least some risk that the flame could propagate down the tube up to the bubbler as both gasses are mixed. Wouldn't this pose a significant safety threat? I would love to see just how violent the reaction would be if lit at the end of the tube without the torch head. Would definitely have to be done at a distance.

    • @AveRage_Joe
      @AveRage_Joe  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I put thinner in the second bubbler in hopes that it would help prevent flashback when shutting if off but it didnt work. I think the bubble is to small and didnt give enough time for the thinner to mix with the hho. I have a flash port on the second bubbler so If and when it does flash back, it will flash out that. It has flashed back a few times and it catches you off guard every time lol

Browns gas is awesome if we could set up a closed system, another thing Ive been looking into is the pogue carb, and gas vapor tech for cars. If you can run a car on wood gas, you can run on gasoline vapor. And if you think about it, you should be getting no hydrocarbons out the exhaust if it’s an efficient combustion, but if we are trying to combust liquid gasoline it is never going to fully combust. I still have this stock and still strongly believe that one day we will make this very practical idea, at least in my mind.lol

    That is a nice setup but if you ever get a spark inside the chamber somehow when it is under pressure, That air Pocket is huge and if It exploded under pressure with you nearby it would kill you. I got a concussion from a device similar to that exploding in my face once only it was much smaller. You need to use something to displace the airspace. I realize with proper safety that shouldn't be possible but why mine exploded is because the terminal arch flashed because the connection got corroded.

    • @AveRage_Joe
      @AveRage_Joe  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yes agree! That is why I use 2 bubblers. The first bubbler is more like a flash arrestor. Its built like a check valve so when there is a flashback it will release only from torch to bubbler. Also in the bubbler is a bronze filter similar to an air stone to create small bubbles which helps prevent a flash getting to 2nd bubbler.

    • @electrolysisresearch8013
      @electrolysisresearch8013 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AveRage_Joe yeah that's a good setup, I run a bubbler with stainless steel whool packed in it so its like a submerged 4" long back flash arrestor, with a flash port in the top and it is honestly impregnable nothing will ever get through. But I still have a back flash arrestor right before my torch and my torch is a backflash arester that I can put different sizes of stainless steel 3D printer nozzles into, but anymore I like to build my hydrogen generators inside a PVC pipe, And then choke off the neck so I only have a tiny air pocket at the top then I put a rubber fitting on with a hose clamp, so if it ever reaches the reaction chamber all it will do is blast the rubber fitting up in the air. Funny enough the thing that exploded I bought it was just a really stupid design.

      Ive been recently looking for good solutions for stove use aside from LP or an alcohol stove. Both of which has their ups and downs. Kind of looking for another option for off grid cooking. Other idea would be to go from the HHO to a compressor to store for later use. I havent seen anyone do that yet. Only diy gas storage ive seen was from the FEMA wood gas generator.

You could build and use without but its nice to turn it up or down. You could also use a light dimmer switch but there limited to around 400-600watts.

    if your using this directly off the generator, how do you stop it from traveling up the pipe and going boom?

    • @AveRage_Joe

      I do have the 2 bubblers that prevent it from going all the way back to the generator. One bubbler has a flash port on it so the bubbler doesnt get destroyed. I do need to add a flash back arrestor closer to the torch and will do that soon.

  • @peterciurea7771
    @peterciurea7771 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bad idea with the fridge compressor. It's a compressor that uses oil directly in the compression compartment and that does not mix well with oxygen, and most definitely not with HHO. You need a oil-less compressor if you plan on pushing HHO. Even then,be cognizant of the flashpoint temp and how it changes at different pressure levels. Pressurize HHO enough and u will reach it in a memorable way

    • @AveRage_Joe

    What is the size of your orifice? The nozzle orifice. And what is the pressure? Nice setup I bet it's cheaper than a oxyacetylene rig! It almost reminds me of a multiplas torch welder thing I saw. I think it was a plasma cutter turned welder. This is cooler!

    • @AveRage_Joe

      I used .030 or .035 welding tip! I built it a while ago so I cant remember lol. If I took the time and made/built a proper pwm for it, it could be a lot more efficient. Im doing more of a brute force way lol. As for pressure, not sure on that either since. Its surprisingly pretty low for how much gas it produces. I havent seen the multi torch welder thingy. Its pretty fun to mess around with for sure. The flame is a foot long lol! I do still plan to rebuild the case for it since I used 1/2" material I tends to leak after a long run. I want to use 1" plexi like the plans call for but that sh!t is expensive lol. Will cost $100-150 for plexi alone. I guess thats not all that bad if it doesnt leak.

    • @CoolStreamT
      @CoolStreamT 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could you try to weld 1/8" thick aluminum and show the photos of the weld or even video to share. I heard that actually you have to use some type of flux to keep aluminum out of oxygen from the air.Welding FluxesAluminum welding flux is designed to remove the aluminum oxide film and exclude oxygen from the vicinity of the puddle.The fluxes used in gas welding are usually in powder form and are mixed with water to form a thin paste.The flux should be applied to the seam by brushing, sprinkling, spraying, or other suitable methods. The welding rod should also be coated. The flux wil1 melt below the welding temperature of the metal and form a protective coating on the surface of the puddle. This coating breaks up the oxides, prevents oxidation, and permits slow cooling of the weld.weldguru.com/aluminum-gas-welding/weldingsupply.com/cgi-bin/einstein.pl?PNUM::1:UNDEF:X:SCAF4

I'm a little confused on the order of plates is it better to go +-+-+- or +++--- and should I use more positive plates then negative and if so to what ratio. Thanks for the share either way

      +Sean Isner Ya its a cool project for sure. Ya send me an email from the about me page and I can send you the pdf I used to build mine. The order of plates is +-+-+-+-+-. Basically one end plate is + and all the plates inbetween are neutral and last plate is -.

      the volts and the amount of amps are related.. you cano not have one without the other..

    is the casing made out ceramic or wood ?
    or something else

      I used solid surface countertop material, its basically acrylic. I plan to rebuild it using 3/4 or 1 inch plexiglass when I get some extra cash to do it.

    Whyd you add a paint thinner bubbler? Also what electrical component did you use to alter the amperage? Thanks

      Alex Crayne I put thinner in the second bubble in hopes that it would help prevent flashback when shutting if off but it didnt work. I think the bubble is to small and didnt give enough time for the thinner to mix with the hho. I used a treadmill controller to vary amps.

      Seems like the paint thinner wouldnt help :) very smart scrapping the treadmill controller! Thanks for your vid

      Alex Crayne I know right but another youtuber named delvis used paint thinner and it didnt flash back. I think it slows down the burn rate and maybe it doesnt burn as hot. It was a good vid.

    Very cool mate
    How many amps u put in?

    it is nice and good
    you tell me characteristics of electric energy which you can use at the steel plates

      Thank you, I use 120vdc in and depending on how much KOH I use will change the watts. Normal I use it at about 4-6 amps which is 480-720watts. At each plate of steel its about 1.9vdc and around .1 amps

      @@AveRage_Joe Your full bridge rectifier is likely putting out higher than 120V dc, since it takes the peak voltage from AC at 120V from the mains which is around 170V. If you are measuring the amps after the rectifier and getting 6 amps that is more like 1 kw.
      Also the current through each plate should be the same. 6 amps through every plate. The voltage across each plate will be the total voltage divided by the number of plates.
