It took me about 40 tries over 2 hours as a wretch to beat the Tree Sentinel. I don't know how long it took Botan to defeat it, but from the clips I've seen she takes every single loss as an opportunity to learn, and it seems like she's far more patient than I am.

As a souls veteran with a strong build I kill most bosses first time or in a few attempts. But the fully grown fallingstar beast is just too much for me. Im way too impatient to spend 10 minutes on that just because he is soooo tanky for no reason.

(No hate tho my g) My Tarnished in Grace, there are 4 types of physical damage, being Slash, Thrust, Strike and General. If you ever played DeS or Ds2 you would have know anything that built like a rock is weak to Strike and Magic only. Whip that Pickaxe out and Minecraft'd the thing. Or did you play the game with le "top strongest build 101 such meta much wow" being bleed katanas and L2 your way to victory? Must have suck gigaballs knowing the Falling Star Beast is immune to Hemorrhage and super resistance to Slash damage type. The boss itself is alright, your arsenal is an issue however. Strange how all the new "souls veterans" never carry backup weapons (Still no hate tho, its cool alright). You expect them to learn that by now after playing more than 2 of FromSoft games. No quickstep option, no perseverance or poise buff, no shield poke, missing either the option to hit vertical or horizontal, no range option, etc.. etc... Its like the brain get reset on new releases. Well... its true that we have to wait forever for the new stuff but still, "soul veteran" means jack shit at this point.
I remember seeing him and seeing nothing similar to him when I first went through the area. My gamer sense said "death ahead" so I literally snuck while I hugged the left side. After I died a few times to the "first story boss" I had forgotten about this guy and tried exploring this general area... a couple hours later this guy was finally felled and I went to see how others fared.
You do not simply walk into Tree Sentinel It hilarious that there clearly wide path to the church ruin while avoiding the sentinel, but Lamy stubbornly try to sneak thru it
Got to give it to Botan for not doing what the rest of use would’ve done and that’s go in for the second hit right away to kill it. Just like the rest of us she’s aware shit can go sideways real quick, unlike the rest of us she has the discipline to hold herself back from getting to greedy
Seriously tho, I Leeroy Jenkins-ed this guy in level 1 Confessor... It took 6 hours with dozens of death, skipping any single enemy felt so wrong for me

Botan: legitimately kills Tree Sentinel with 0 deaths at level 1 without pre knowledge of the boss, it's moves or anything at all. Reality: that isn't meant to be possible.
