Im chronically ill and very sick and drag race has been very helpful in terms of lifting my mood. Sending love for Yvie for being chronically ill on TV and being authentic
What Yvie shared about AS7 is brutal. Clearly on AS7 the judges didn't even bother to learn what the queens had accomplished since their original seasons. Shocked and saddened that Yvie had to go through this. Great interview!

@JoseSena-gs4tz 😂 I totally agree. She's a business mogul filming and working b2b2b. I don't expect her to remember everyone at this point either. #justiceforgeriatrics 😂
one of Yvie's most compelling traits has always been how authentic she is; I think that's what draws fans so much to queens like her or Adore or Katya, so the fact that they presented such an inauthentic version of her experience on AS7 is so sad to me. Even before watching this interview I was ready to die on the hill that we were robbed of Yvie Oddly lip syncs on AS7, but hearing that that's about the same amount of respect they gave her art the entire time is much worse. She (and all the winners) deserved better
I saw Yvie live at Tracks Denver right before she was announced for S11. Then, last year, I had the privilege of watching her perform with the Denver Gay Men's chorus. She was singing her originals with a full choir backing her. Both times, she was such a show stealer. So vibrant and entertaining. I love Yvie
Wow, a voice strong enough to sing lead in a chorus is incredible. I hadnt remembered she can sing, gonna look up to see if she has any performances on youtube :)
Honestly, that’s the only thing we need to know about the unofficial All Winners reunion. The contestants felt it was rigged, the winner agreed. 🤷🏽♂️ That says it all.
Starting to feel they're all rigged... Looking back at season 11 and finale, Brooke and Akeria definitely out lip synced.... Ru had bigger plans for Brooke Lynn. 🇨🇦DR.
I became an instant fan of Yvie the moment she walked into that werk room. Such a breath of fresh air, especially at that time. & as someone who adores the "alt" space of drag, it made me elated it was represented at that time. I can't wait to read the book!!
Yvie- I know this will probably never actually reach you but I am one of your biggest fans. I’m a trans person who is interested in drag but I never thought I could do it bc I’m disabled. But seeing you on the show gave me so much hope and joy. I know you think you didn’t come across well (and that is so tragic to hear😢) but you literally are my hero. you saved my perception of drag and disability and how they CAN intersect and work together! Your line “Don’t call me weak, I put the ‘able’ in ‘disabled’” in the talent show number on AS7 was my favorite line i’ve ever heard on RDR bc it hits so close to home. I love you, Yvie, and you are such a joy and inspiration to me. Keep doing what you’re doing, girl!! i’m a proud “queerdo”, and all hail the Queen!! ❤❤❤
She seems like an actual artist spirit. Nothing against other queens, but I do get the feeling she appreciates it greatly when people adore her art, whereas some queens want to be the center of attention themselves and NOT their art. I think she is the kind of person that appreciates one genuine compliment about her art way way more than 100 empty compliments for attention.
That’s also why I love Jinkx. She’s self-aware enough to know her limitations within the competition, even when her online fanbase cannot. She was often failing and should have been either at the bottom or someone else should have won. But as long as she’s always seen as the nice poor kid who was picked on from Season 5 and won - and teenagers go through angst and being bullied - Jinkx Monsoon will always be seen as an avatar for that time in one’s life.
Maybe Jinxx might have referred that monet should have won because the lipsync? Because for me she was good in almost every challenge, yes sometimes someone else deserved that win though

Yvie deserved so much better on S11 and AS7. I agree with her feeling like she wasn’t shown properly. Like it’s obvious that production didn’t know what to do with her genuinely and when to give her the praise and respect and the W. Same with Raja.
Always thought this, that production never knew what to do with her since her art doesn’t fall into neat and tidy categories. I felt this was an issue on both of her seasons.
You feel sorry for her because they gave her the win in S11 and showed her only in a positive light in AS7? It's a reality - competition show, it could have hardly gone better for her. I'd loved AS7 and was so happy that everyone got the opportunity to shine. But the bickering of some queens after the fact was annoying.
@@Chasfondue17 I actually feel bad for her because you can tell in S11 that they didn’t know whether to give her a good or bad edit in the story and didn’t see her as winner potential more like runner up. Matt you look so delighted throughout the whole interview, you looked how I felt watching it, just gushing, yvie is SO lovely and funny and candid my god i love her
I thoroughly enjoyed all of this! Thank you to both of you for doing this!
This was a great interview. Yvie is so candid.
Ohhh I'm seated for ms oddly 💚💚💚
Yvie will forever be one of my favorite queens ever! So authentic and so unique and in all honesty, deserves everything she has accomplished and more!
About the season being rigged, i felt that the moment jinkx got blocked and the next challenge was a design challenge. HOWEVER, i am really sorry, i love jinkx so much if it wasn't her, i wanted Yvie or Trinity to win!
I love Yvie ❤ and I’m so glad she is exposing all the shenanigans that rupaul and producers/unqualified judges are trying to fit drag into a perfect little box.
I love you, Queen Yvie!
