I think an interesting way to take the Minotaurs (or at least Alistar) is that as much as they value strength like the Noxians, part of their belief in strength is making everyone strong, including the weak since they are stronger together. Not only does this reflect the herd mentality of real cows, but reflects Alistar’s ability to be a support champion, using his strength to enhance that of another

Agreed! I can imagine him as a Spartacus-like figure in Noxus. Constantly defying Noxus’s rule and secretly creating a Minotaur rebellion. Something of a Noxus version of Sylas but less angry and more gladiator champion who says no to killing for entertainment. The benefit for being such a simple character is that he can basically go anywhere in terms of lore. I would love to see him fight Aurok, the Minotaur that Swain groomed into a war beast.

You know what I think would be cool? A Noxian rebel group with characters like Alistar, RIven, Rell running around to fight against the Trifarix/Black Rose/nobles/etc. Add in Annie as a child that they are protecting from various groups that are trying to capture her. Then somehow make Veigar join them for comedy. And boom, you have a series. Final season, everyone joins to fight Mordekaiser, including the previous enemies, Veigar character development, and so on.
I think a good ASU path for Alistar is to move his story foward and make him the head of a revolution against Noxus Imperialism, maybe he still values pacifism, but his time in the reckoning pits made him more jaded and willing to take matters into his own hands (literally) when it gets to it.
What is cool about the Minotaur is that the ancient island of Crete was inhabited by a kingdom of civilizations that worshipped a cow god under their Labyrinth in Knossos. The Ancient Greeks told of their stories like they actually met it and slain it in real life. That civilization is lost now, and the language they wrote in is indecipherable. Linear A is one of the oldest languages in Human history, and Minoans were the most advanced technology in the world.

Loosing to Kayle lvl 1 is actually very common, with lethal tempo and her E she is one of the best duelist champions at level 1, vs melees. It's usually something Kayle players take advantage of so watch out for that, as soon as lvl 2 she is meh/bad and 3-5 she is terrible.
What Alistar got was known - back the day~ - as "MTU" (= Model & Texture Update). So barely design changes just the already established look on a modern model: Examples: Alistar, Miss Fortune, Sona, Kassadin, Singed

More so, gladiators had higher social and law status than slave, so being gladiator is better than being slave from a lot of points. And gladiators were like WWE fighters - some were so famous that people from different cities came to see them, gladiators regularly had tours in different parts of the Empire, etc. So yeah, pros for Riot, reckoning pits sounds a lot like their real life prototype
Alistar is one of my all time favorite champions and one of the first ones i've ever claimed *_"maining"_* at some point in my life - but he truly has aged like milk, nowadays he looks as *_bland_* and *_featureless_* as *_any basic mythological fantasy minotaur can look,_* his is gameplaywise an ancient champion with an old-barely-changed-clunky kit with dota 2-level mana-costs and cooldowns, rough visuals and barely any identity as a character inside the Runeterra's universe, he looks like *_a TMNT-villain reject_* whom i could very well imagine standing right beside Bebop and Rocksteady.... why does a minotaur have purple skin and a turquoise mohawk? He *_DESPERATELY_* needs the whole shebang: a complete *_VGU_* or *_ASU at the LEAST_* in addition to his *_in-universe character and lore,_* his whole identity and personality is *_'every bog-standard minotaur in fantasy ever'_* - with the current imagination and fantasy incorporated into the Runeterra universe I know they can do something much more interesting and enticing with this minotaur-archetype and put a very unique spin to it some way - and they could just as well be turned into Vastayan race while they're at it

It's dumb. It's confusing to have 99% of the animal-based peoples as vastayan except the bull ones. It doesn't make any sense. I assumed he was vastaya anyway. Clearly Riot has just forgotten to retcon them in.
Alistar gameplay is amazing, he's so fun for me, I only wish his jungle potential was slightly better with clearing camps. But his lore sucks sadly, he really needs something because I like what he does have but it doesn't reflect at all in his quotes. Alistar has so many skins at least so there's always that, love his cowboy and cow skins. (Wish I had matador)
