What’s happening in this World War Z clip?
Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt), his wife (Mireille Enos) and their two children run through a city in chaos, avoiding zombies and other panicking citizens. While they do so, Gerry talks on the phone to his old friend, deputy Secretary-General Thierry Umutoni (Fana Mokoena), asking him for help.

What’s World War Z about?
Former United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt), his wife (Mireille Enos) and their two children enjoy a normal day together when they witness the outbreak of a massive zombie attack on Philadelphia. After escaping the panic stampede generated by the attack, the Lanes take refuge in an apartment complex in Newark. They then receive the help of Gerry’s old friend, deputy Secretary-General Thierry Umutoni (Fana Mokoena) who sends a helicopter to rescue them and put them in safety with another family. However, their rest doesn’t last as the place is soon being attacked by zombies. After joining their building’s roof, the Lanes are saved by a helicopter that takes them to a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier off the coast of New York City with a whole group of other refugees. On board, a team of scientists and military personnel are analyzing the scope of the worldwide outbreak. A virologist, Dr. Andrew Fassbach (Elyes Gabel), argues that the plague is a virus, whose origin must be found in order for a vaccine to be developed. Because of his expertise as a former UN investigator, Gerry is tasked with helping Fassbach find the outbreak's source.

That dude probably lived out the rest of his life/the apocalypse in relative comfort. He may be sick with something terminal, but with everything being overrun with zombies and all of those zombies ignoring him for a reason he wouldn't be aware of, he can pretty much just go into any store or building that doesn't have normal people in it and take whatever he needs. Food, rest, liquor, medication. Whatever. He can just roam the streets in safety, with zombies all around him to keep him safe.

@@Xylarxcode Actually, if he managed to get himself back up to full health through medication or food, the zombies would actually go after him since he became healthy.
@@jathebest2835 a homeless person is not in solitude when he watches the world that made him marginalized crumble... Solitude is hell for those who didn't survived it yet and whom taking society confort for granted... Always remember it's a social contract not society. Since long we live as monsters chaîned. Since when I seen the last human who is faithful alive and religious not needing a social contract restrain. Because he is good already...
Earlier scenes make sense after watching the whole thing, like the hobo just being ignored. He was likely sick with something or had a failing liver from drinking which might also seem too sick to be noticed.
Hobo's carry the best immune system from not showering daily and for him being drunk you may be right on that behalf or maybe a pops pills as he drinks.

When I was watching this the first time I was so curious as to why. Really neat detail.
Would be nice if this was labeled as a spoiler. It isn't in itself, but people have spoiler replies.
He was the plot spoiler, although I don' t think many people caught it, including me.
Watching this again, you see what they realise at the end of the movie pretty clearly.

Regardless of how good or bad the movie is, that right there is good writing. Showing things that may not make sense or even go unnoticed at the moment, but later on when they give an explanation, all the dots connect.

Most of the people who survived this were likely single with no kids. Like….this entire movie was a cautionary tale about how having kids during the apocalypse is MASSIVELY inconvenient to try and deal with.

The zombies literally have no interest in the guy sitting on the pavement.
These zombies only infected healthy individual, who was supposed to live much long before getting infected.
The guy on the pavement probably had AIDS or, liver cirrhosis type of thing, and certainly won't live long.

World War Z was a scary movie because I feel something like that could really happen or something similar like in the game Last of Us
It was scary to me because the zombies were actually fast and have an actual explained amount of time before turning into one.

There's a whole explanation about the viral physiology on the solanum virus. Something like the solanum virus absolutely could happen
All that has to happen to make this real is the rabies virus mutating to a much more dangerous and effective way to infect or a virus to evolve that works similarly to the solanum virus and boom we got wwz

i dont think we will get the sequel because the ending was good and should have ended like that. But prequel (before the event of World War Z happens) will be fine to watch instead to know where the virus comes from, who created it and many more.

The movie had multiple scenes in which they showed the zombies showing no interest in a few individuals: a homeless guy on the street, an elderly man, and a boy dying from cancer. It was later revealed that the zombies only go after healthy people.

When her family leave they save her soulmate and most likely, if there was a sequel, they are the couple that is somehow immune to the infection.
