I appreciate your loyalty towards our moon, thanks man.
titan better.
@@samschreiber1640 Europe is the best. I like to drive in my submarine with the boys there.
@@ropro31 my opa used to tell me the same thing. he was a soldier in the 40s.
You must be the ones who etched "The Moon Rulez, #1" on the side of my car.
"Who doesn't have some craters?" Gregbrodudeman can't even stop saying wholesome things when talking about rocks floating in space.
Meanwhile Europa🗿
Of course he was saying that while bullying another moon for being too lumpy lol
Such a wholesome bro to watch cosmic horror with
Man, Greg is a real Bro, don't you agree Dude?
Totally dude, Greg is a pure unit, don't you agree my guy?
I mean such chill vibes man...like "hey pal, how about we watch the spooky videos over some pizza bites and mountain dew huh?"
That's far too many Jupiter's in the sun. I believe the ideal amount of Jupiter's inside the sun is zero.
Not even a half order of Jupiters?
This sounds like the average Tumblr post
Lose the apostrophes
jupiter is gas so i think they compare the mass of both
@@GunsAndAmmo3 Fair. Ju' pituers. Now the half order seems like it's from a fancy space restaurant.

Hey, nobody👋
Hellow! I love ur playlist and ur a great artist
The sun misbehaving is the scariest thing we will ever experience nothing should top it because the sun is the only thing keeping us alive
and it's spitting electro magnetic flares at us regularly, even right now. a big enough one would short circuit the entire planet, back to stone age
@@krisstopher8259 we had 2 big enough to fry whole planet electronics this year btw, but turns out people been preparing and almost nothing critical was lost, and as always our predictive models were off a lot
It very much is the closest we'll get to cosmic horror
Erm I saw a twitter about how the sun vanished and they seemed fine there. Checkmate Hawking
scariest thing about the scenario at 10:48 is that we wouldn't see this happening until 8 minutes after it happened because that's how long it takes for light from the sun to get to earth :)
i researched that too. how fun!
6:05 Actually what you are talking about here is kind of happening, only its not just our solar system. It's the whole Milky Way Galaxy, as well as every other galaxy in the local group, all being pulled at an accelerating rate toward something known as "The Great Attractor". Due to our current position in the Milky Way, the plane of the galaxy is right between us and it, whatever it is, and so we can't see it until we orbit around to the other side of the Milky Way, which will take many many many years, but whatever it is it has a gravitational pull way stronger than even super massive black holes. And we also have no real idea how far away from it we are either. So that's fun to think about.
his "welcome back" always makes my day.
If the sun actually exploded we might hear it for a millisecond before we get instantly vaporized. And that millisecond will be the most distressingly loud thing we would ever hear. Like some speakers here on earth can shatter your eardrums. Imagine what the sun would do, as the most powerful and most explosive object near us. That millisecond would be the most fear inducing sound you would and could hear in your life. Like just imagine a loud scratch in a warehouse with massive pieces of metal rubbing together. The sun would be incomprehensibly loud and scary compared to that.
And also a millisecond is probably all the time our ears would last even if it didn't kill us.
@@ashketchup8723i read somewhere that the sun would basically to us sound like a jackhammer at all times without the vacuum... so imagine the vacuum being gone and the sun coming closer and closer after exploding. terrifying
Shakespeares go back to your tombstone bc this one is hitting too hard
Sound doesn’t travel in space since it is a vacuum the sound wouldn’t travel. It also takes like 8mins for the suns light to travel and hit the earth so the sun would explode we wouldn’t see any changes for 8mins then out of nowhere it would be pitch black out no light at all. And we would freeze to death not burn up in an explosion.
AFAIK there is a limit on how loud any sound can be in our atmosphere! It can get very very loud, but not much louder than a rocket ship. The reason you hear "cutoffs" during a rocket takeoff is because of this limit!
One day, this channel will be bigger than the universe.
Ermm, actually, there would need to big a bigger quantity of humans than the entire universe, an impossible amou-
Nah I'm just kidding, lol
How if it exists in such universe
The one of the Carina Nebula at 14:40, when you say "We live at the edge of that toe" is not a photo of the solar system. The Original post as just a size comparison. It is impossible to photograph the solar system from outside, as the farthest manmade object is VoyagerOne, and it hasn't even left the Oort cloud.
Our moon is indeed the best moon! Our moon is the biggest moon in comparison to planet size in the Solar System.
Pluto is cheesed that we took that title from them
Our vertical leap is beyond all measurement
Just wanna say, love the new background excellent choice
the black hole mentioned at 2:11 is Phoenix A* and it's 100 billion solar masses (TON 618 is only 66 billion solar masses). It was discovered in 2010 but it was WAY smaller at the time and didn't surpass TON 618 until December of 2022.
We as an existence are a fucking atom compared to our universe
what do you mean surpass what did it do to gain this title
The phrase "only 66 billion solar masses" is wild
13:06 Utah resident here, our entire state is already almost completely surrounded by part of the Rocky Mountain regions, so I don’t think that that much would change in all honesty. Lollll
i was about to comment that lol

The return of Bold and Brash (and the video itself tbf) has been the best part of my week (๑•́‧̫•̀๑)
The calm before the solar storm, if you will
I really needed this BIG reminder that our problems are all so small and insignificant in the vastness of this universe....
What a wholesome existential crisis
14:42 that isn't where our solar system is. It was just for scale. That is a real photo of a particularly gasy place and we can't take a photo of ourselves that far away, we can only look outwards
And all of this is just in the observable universe, meaning that the universe keeps going, but the light from it will NEVER reach us, so the universe might even go on infinitely.
You must play/stream the game Liminalcore. It will haunt every thalassophobia nerve. Unsettleling af, in a good way.
A find this stuff fascinating but VERY anxiety inducing, much more than almost every other subject. The mere thought of having something so vast with many things yet to be explored and fully comprehended just above our visible sky make me hyperventilate and feel like I'm about to pass out.
Almost sounds like Astrophobia...🤔
@Dirtydeets95 haha, yeah, "almost" cause I only feel this way in some occasions and i can trace it back to a childhood scare when i watched a movie about abduction and was terrified for days. My main fear is of Aliens/the unknown.
New background looks totally rad 😎
Gregs videos give me astrophobia because theyre out of this world. Its terrifying. Help me, im scared.
even our own bodies are trying to kill us, so yea basically everything is scary
Actually, we'd be long dead before the sun ever explodes. Where the sun is on the main sequence of stars, it will most likely become a red giant first, which would make the sun MUCH larger than it is now. It's unknown if we'd be swallowed by the mass of it or be pushed farther away. Either way, we'd be cooked 😬
Our moon is best moon. All those rock moons can't compete with our cheese moon.
Thankyou for cherishing me 🥺
Fun fact! Olympus Mons is a shield volcano! Same as Hawaii. The reason it's so big is that Mars did not have plate tectonics so the hotspot that formed Olympus Mons never moved. Earth does have plate tectonics so the crust moved around and that hotspot could never form mountains that large. Olympus mons is not active anymore since Mars has cooled down to the point of not having a molten interior.
Martian mountaineering community is gonna be huge
Needs more mothers
I love getting stoned and watching this guy I don’t know why

This is too scary Greg😢
i love the cork board making references to old videos!! super cool!!
Fun fact about Olympus Mons: if you were to stand in the center, you wouldn't be able to see any of the Martian surface that wasn't part of the volcano in all directions. Yeah, it's that big.
So close! If the sun actually exploded it would most likely be instantaneous due to how light travels and we probably wouldn’t even see an explosion, and parts of that fiery fat star would crash into us and without a sun we would be out of orbit and die within minutes! That being said, someone deep down in a basement below another basement might be able to survive a little longer due to the fact that they wouldn’t be pulled away from the earth’s surface
Im not a pro though take this with a grain of salt :)
11:05
"sO cLoSe!" 😐
I really enjoy how accurately you're portraying the science and how you don't exaggerate your reactions
Fun fact: Rumour has it there are more future subscribers to this channel than stars in the universe.
It's so funny that the Sun exploding video is basically turning the brightness up.
Gregbrodudeman, you remind me of a dear friend I used to have. Listening to you talk reminds me of him and I feel like we’re hanging out again. Thank you for your uploads. You and your videos are awesome. Keep being you.
My son likes a show called big city greens and in the last movie they did the family goes to space, I actually had a hard time watching it because they were all cast off into different directions into space floating alone in the dark with no way back and an asteroid heading towards earth lol terrifying. Incase you don’t know big city greens is a kids cartoon on Disney channel 😂
i think the big fella (maybe THAT is Mr. Friend) seems to be trying to push mars and earth away from each other and keep them from colliding but inadvertently also caused mass destruction on Earth due to his size. Big fella doesn't know his own strength and also got embarassed
The new look on your room gives an immersive feel to the content you react
I love feeling so small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Thank you Greg
Your existence does mean something, my guy. You bring joy to the lives of many. Most people who will ever live on this planet (most likely myself included) will never be able to say they brought a smile to as many faces as you have. I get you were most likely joking, but it can get crazy when you realize there really isn't much point to our being lol. Keep up the good work, man.
Man, I have really been digging your videos lately man. I see that video of all the black holes and stiff piqued your interest lol. I've basically binged the last year or so plus some. Might go check out your earlier stuff, but dunno how far back I'll go. Keep up the good work man.

LOVE THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY POSTER! Just noticed halfway through the video (I’m sketching out a house layout so I was half paying attention lol)
It's becoming increasingly obvious. I CAN DENY IT NO LONGER!!
i am small
“Imagine the specific moment you’re on the moon, your planet gets stolen” actually sounds like a great premise for a sci-fi survival/thriller story
We need back the subnautica cat poster!
Love the background in your room!!!
Since I was little when I get anxious, I think of how insignificantly small I am compared to the size of the universe. It makes me feel better because, no matter how much I mess up, it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. Anyone else feel similarly?
I like the new background, crime scene detective vibe;)...
Man i love the beauty of space, but i don't love to remember how big it is 💀
THat background board with all the things you cover on the channel is great!
Phoenix A* is the largest black hole that we have found. It doesn't make Ton 618 look like a tiny dot by comparison, but it is still significantly larger than Ton 618.
Randomly found one of ur vids just now, and i don't think imma regret it man. I love astrology
I also have mild Astrophobia

More than 1,300 Earths could fit inside Jupiter:
Volume: Jupiter's volume is 1.43 x 1015 km³ (1,430 trillion cubic km), while Earth's volume is 1.08 trillion km³ (259 million mi). Dividing one by the other gives a value of 1,299, meaning that almost 1,300 Earths could fit inside Jupiter.
About 1,000 Jupiters could fit inside the Sun. This is based on the comparison of the Sun's volume to Jupiter's volume:
Jupiter's volume: 1.43 x 10^15 km^3
Sun's volume: 1.4 x 10^18 km^3
And in a parallel universe, MegSisChickGal
This stuff never scares or makes me feel small. Like despite us barely scraping space the fact we are able to do what we do with ships, probes, etc is fucking awesome to me. Like humans manage some amazing stuff despite trying to kill each other constantly. I’d love to see what we could do if we just stopped our dumb bullshit and put our brains towards bettering ourselves.
11:30 I suddenly understand on a visceral level why our ancestors were sooooo freaked out about eclipses.
3:42 the moon is actually more of an oval but ig it always looks spherical because we always have one end of the oval facing us... I think that's how it works. pisses me off, really

cool Secret Life of Walter Mitty poster back there Greg, super underrated movie!
Ayyy one of my fav youtubers posted!!!!!
The idea that someone would even fathom constructing the sentence "the universe isnt even that big" when its literally the biggest thing we know of, and even saying "we know of" is oversimplifying *a lot*, is quite funny
What we have destined to build looks like the Arc from the TV show "100".
The round spaceship made me think of the planet maker on "Titan AE" that made the planet Bob.
Nice, great video Greg. Your definitely on to something with your new background. Looking good so far.
What's a crazy thing for me is that the stars in the sky are old light. Those stars could be gone for years, and we would never know until the light goes out

17:30 this one is decent-ish? like. i like that it shows even the space station being effected by the gravity, but if something THAT BIG were THAT NEAR to earth, first of all everyone would be dead a LOT earlier than that. second of all, the weather would be going CRAZY and those clouds would NOT be static. the unmoving atmosphere really pulled me out of it unfortunately

Now you should watch a video on the smallest things in the universe, like the microscopic world 😊👍💜
I got all excited thinking this was astraphobia (fear of thunderstorms), I didn't realise it was such a similar name to astrophobia (fear of space). Please do a video on scary thunder and lightning! ⚡
Crazy how after seeing how small we are, it feels like we’re just worthless little bacteria in space, yet here I am still paying taxes 😒
I have a stupidly big fear of big things. And tall things. And deep things. This video was,um, hard to watch but I did it. Along with your other videos in the past. It makes my spine tingle. I feel like contorting when I come across said things.. One of my biggest fears is planes, passenger jets. The nose and the back end send my mind and body into a survival mode. Its HORRIBLE.
I wasn't expecting this to be scary at all but it was actually pretty creepy.
Secret life of Walter Mitty is such a good movie ❤
HEY EVERYBODY! OUR FAVORITE TH-camR JUST POSTED🗣️🗣️
YA 🗣️🗣️
This kind of stuff sends me into a spiral. How did we find out that the universe is that big? How can we be sure that planets in our very own solar system doesn’t have some sort of life already on it? I start getting into creation and such. If we are the only planet in our solar system with life that we know of…why? Does anything in life really matter? I believe in God but like why this planet? Why us? Is there other solar systems that have planets with similar life forms as us? Why was the sun made so big? What’s the purpose of these other planets IF they don’t have life forms? Like planets that are only made up of gas. So nothing REALLY matters in the scheme of things? What’s time? What’s the meaning of life? Am I really me?
I need to lie down…
I need more of this, damn
