I’ve had mine for a few months now and that first gear and take off is a little different on this bike then things I’ve had in the past. I have always rode dirt bikes so this is my first street legal one it’s been cool for sure!

Just got mine around July! Great choice in color and mod selection. Best of luck with taking the class. Another wise decision. Always keep an eye out for others drivers and keep the rubber side down. At first while your learning a safety reflective vest isn’t a bad idea either. Rather look silly and seen rather than the alternative. Stay safe and have fun!

I been eyeing the KP Mini and the Kymco Spade for a long time. Grom and Z125 are fun bikes but the KP Mini and Spade have the extra power to legally do highway speed. Some states say it must have 150cc to do highway. The four things these bike have in common is there lightweight, maneuverability and ability to move them through indoor room doors and elevators. Hence be careful never leave these kind of bikes unlocked outside because they are extremely easy for someone to steal.
Did you buy something? I have a spade, about 1000miles now. Other than dealer fixing a electrical connection for blinker under warranty, no issues. Havent done highway yet but have done over 60, i think it tops out at 70. I got for around 3100 OTD if i recall. I wouldnt hesitate to buy a used one, you could probably get a used one for 2000 maybe less. I feel the groms are way overpriced, if i hadnt found out about the spade i was considering a lifan 150 mini. Also an issue with the grom is legroom for tall people, at 6ft the grom bars would hit my legs when turning. The spade is much roomier, and imo much better looking.
@@connor3288 Not yet. Believe me I want the Kymco Spade but It has no aftermarket exhaust available. The only aftermarket exhaust I could find for Kymco Spade is the "MNNTHBX Kymco Spade Exhaust" but it's no longer being sold. I do not want my motorbike sounding like the typical 4 stroke 50cc gas scooter. As for KP Mini, unfortunately it is carbureted. Since I will be storing my bike indoor, fuel injection makes more sense for me. Carbureted bikes will leak more gas smell indoors. I'm being picky as hell because I only have room for 1 motorbike. I agree that groms are overpriced. Currently I'm eyeing the Benelli TNT135. Thinking about purchasing it along with 155cc big bore kit and aftermarket exhaust. I seen TH-camr Dodge Rider get the Spade to 75 MPH with mods of course. If you find a aftermarket exhaust for Kymco Spade let me know.

Awesome vid On the ss3 sticker did yours have a clear coat on top of it because I have the blue one and it looks like there's a clear coat over the sticker and I'm scared to mess up the paint. Your bike looks matte like it has no clear is that the case? Thanks
Where did you purchase the clutch lever extension so the lever would fit. Everytime I buy levers the clutch side doesn't fit. So I bought the KP mini levers and clutch side did not fit properly. SO,. AMANDA PLEASE HELP and let me know where you purchased the new clutch lever fitting.also I have the same bike as you except my is a 2020.....Thanks Bryan
For anyone who doesnt want to take the bike apart to attach the integrated lights.. I just laid under the bike and was able to get my XXL hands inside and free the connectors inside the fairings, you might need cutters. Youll see the connectors they attach to while youre down there. Theyre very obvious.

I was trying to get a grom but the mark up was crazy instead went with a bad diao 125 and swap a 212 into it way cheaper then a grom

Awesome! I have a 2016 kp mini. Must do mod was a battery cut off switch. There's too much of parasitic drain, it kills batteries if it stays parked for too long, idk if it was fixed on newer models
I have a 2018, and this was good to know. I bought it w a dead battery, and i still haven't gotten it to start yet. The cold weather doesn't help either since I'd have to fix it outdoors...

justto, but a new battery from walmart. mine stock battery would die after to or three times trying to start it, so if i didn’t start immediately, i’m jumping or bump starting it

50 is cold for us in the RGV part of Texas as well, nice choice, my first moto was a 125 Sanyang 30 years ago in Taipei, while not a mini-moto, it was fun for Taiwan and at that time, large bikes could not be sold/ now I'm on a Versys x300. Small for the USA but fun and gets me around. **I never had "the class" but Texas now has it as a requirement for new riders/ my class was Taipei traffic. (check out TH-cam for all the motos on the road there), got my Texas license back in 2008 with a 150cc twist and go large touring scooter, fun times for $5 dollar gas.
My friend and I along with his mother took the MSC course last season to get our bike licenses. Though it is not actually required for getting your bike license here in NY it makes the process go much quicker. Because the course is a part of the DMV once completed it negates the need for a road test so you don't have to directly deal with traffic and someone honking at you to turn. It also gives you a price reduction on your motorcycle insurance when you show them you completed the course. :)

take a big plastic cup fill with hot water and drop the grips in it. they will go right on and stay when dry.

Replace the paper filter with a foam filter, go up 3 to 4 sizes on main jet, up 1 or 2 on pilot jet, up 1 on front sprocket, down 1 on rear sprocket.
Great vid but u got a few things wrong.the kp body style is close to a kawi but idk Wich but the engine is a 100%honda copy. Lifan even used to be part of Honda and made there parts

I got the same bike and the throttle response is very jerky and bouncy, did you experience this on your bike ?
I actually did I replaced the throttle cable and it fixed it

I read a lot of the reviews myself and saw a lot of bad. unfortunately there are bad reviews for every online retailer. I ordered my kp mini from 360powersports and had it on my door in less than a week from ordering it. MCO came in the mail 3 days later. was a buttery smooth transaction and I couldn't be happier. I'm glad I didn't listen to the negatives.

I wonder - is the Lifan just a Vader 125 that's been bored out bigger? If it's a bored out Vader engine block then I'd worry about how that might affect engine reliability what with a thinner cylinder wall. But, if it's a totally new engine block that's been built to be a 150cc then that would be nice. There's just no end to my decision making to getting one of these bikes. First I figured on a Vader 125 from Amazon. Then I saw a local dealer selling a Bennelli 135 and drooled over that. Now there's this Lifan 150. What to get. Maybe I'll go back to price. Since I'm not sure if I'll like a mini-bike, why overpay? A Vader 125 on Amazon is $ 1,300. A Lifan 150 on Amazon is $ 1,900 and a Bennelli at a local dealer is $ 3,200. So, definitely not a Bennelli. Now if I only knew about the 150 engine compared to the 125.

Unlike the RPS Condor, the Lifan has a completely different motor.
These motors are vertical (not horizontal like the clones), It is also OHC apposed to OHV that all the clones are, including the Vaders and RPS Condor. The build quality is also a step much higher than both of those bikes. They are also EFI now for 2024 models.

Money from where does everybody get their money from to do all these mods I know the exhaust pipe ain't cheap I priced it got you guys are so lucky but someone buy me an exhaust pipe for my bike
We work and don't have a lot of bills or some make really good money. I work part time, but only have car insurance I have to pay so I can buy anything with time. You must be fully cut off from your parents and pay for your own place and all your other bills that have to be paid. Try not to move out too quick, enjoy it with your parents and buy and do all you need for a few years than move out and finally pay the bills, you gotta have some fun before your parents just throw rent and other bills on you
@@ThePeacePlant some people never have the safety net of their parents. I started paying rent as soon as I graduated high school and before then I already had to pay for clothes, my phone, pretty much anything I wanted that wasn’t dinner but often times I bought my own food. Just some perspective.
How much is insurance for one of these?
It varies depending on your age and driving record. I got mine through Geico it’s the only place I was able to get insurance for it
State farm was able to cover me and charges me about 20 bucks a month for full coverage. I'm in Brooklyn Ny so prob cheaper elsewhere, motorcycle theft is high here.
I use Geico Motorcycle and only pay $70 a year for liability.

One cool thing I learned but can't prove was that lifan engines are made by honda actually. Not sure abou the plastics or any of the assembly
You are kind of correct. Lifan made Hongda motorcycles, but was ordered to stop by Honda. The motorcycles looked so much like Honda's that it could fool people. Honda ordered a cease and desist lawsuit around 2004.

I’ve been trying to buy a Honda trail 125 would love to have one I’ve run into such arrogance and price gouging at the Honda dealers that I absolutely am done with motorcycle dealers I’m about to throw some money down and have something shipped right to the house. The one dealership that I bought one of my motorcycles from charge me $30 just to slip a tire over the rim not even balance it. Tired of the price gouging tired of the arrogance and this isn’t the first Honda dealership that I’ve dealt with in that situation. They know these are popular and they’re price gouging. I think it’s an ethical and I think this will ultimately be there on doing.
