This is unbelievable. My mouth is on the floor. I just got my instapot and I made collards and I did mine for 40 mins. Yours looked good too. Mine were delish too first time in 50 yrs of cooking greens that I did just one green I always did collards mustard and spinach can't think of other one but 3 then added spinach so I was scared of doing just one sister talked me into doing the collards only. Told her I was happy I did it felt like I had a bowl of greens. Keep cooking. Loved it
Soaking some right now. I have cooked them in Instant Pot for the last couple of years. It's the best way I have ever done them. Great info for newbies. If you think you don't like collard greens, try them this way and you will.
I personally like Mad Dog, but Big Mike is probably more universal. The greens looked good and I can’t believe they only took 7 mins! That is crazy fast. Nice video 👍🏾
What!!???? I have never attempted to do this in my IP! This method would help so much for Sunday and holiday meals when you can free up a stove eye! 😂. Thanks for the recipe!
I discovered you through AB's channel. This recipe looks yummy, I just bought my first Instant Pot 2 weeks ago and now I'm finally getting around to using it. Thanks again for sharing❤🍴
I put the setting on saute' to cook the meat. You can cook it for about 10 min because the ham shank is already pre cooked. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be glad to answer them. Cheers!
Not long because once you put the lid on get the pressure going is going to cook it anyway but to saute the meat and onions maybe about 10 minutes. That glass lid really helps a lot.
@@bzcooks4220 It was the best dinner I had in awhile. Used bacon instead and "collard kale" I didn't know what to do with. This recipe is perfect! The 12 bunches was key.
Hey Mike did the glass lid come with your Instant Pot or did you buy it separately? I'm going to have to make my greens in my IP. So far, I've done my black eyed peas, pinto beans, candied yams, baked(IP baked version) potatoes and other things but not greens yet. Thanks for the tips. 😍
Hey Big Mike, I saw you with AB chowing down on a smoked turkey wing, you made that wing look so good I decided to check your channel out. I was impressed to see you cook greens in the instantpot. I was just thinking about greens and I have an instantpot so joining your channel was a no brainer. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thank you for asking this question. I had to watch multiple videos just to see if someone shows the settings that are used. I am new to using the Instant Pot so that info is very helpful.
Alright just got my IP Viva & been looking for a collard greens video. I'll omit the meat (& use some liquid smoke) but will follow the rest and see wats up.
Super easy dish to make. If you want them to be more tender just set your timer to 7-10 minutes. If you want something to pair these collard greens with try this recipe th-cam.com/video/EoJZI0GRgAo/w-d-xo.html
No I didn't, you don't have to. All you have to do is throw them in the pot and set your timer. If you want them more tender set it for a 10 minute cook
GREAT question, I cooked them in the instant pot and it only took 7 min to cook them. 30-45 min is not necessary. Honestly if you set your instant pot for 10 min they will be fine.
@@bzcooks4220 I've watched other videos and everyone said set to high pressure at 30-45 mins .I will definitely try your method the next time I cooked them thank you

Wow I really enjoyed this video it was perfect and not too long and not a lot of chatter just information and some wisdom about the greens
Yessss collard greens!!!
Thanks for the love
Keep the instant pot videos coming
Will do, I have some in the works!
When you let the onions and meat saute, how LONG did you saute the ingredients before you added the collard greens?
Sauté until the onions are translucent
What settings did you put the pot on when you cooked the meat down and for how long you cooked the meat before you added the greens?
I put the setting on saute' to cook the meat. You can cook it for about 10 min because the ham shank is already pre cooked. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be glad to answer them. Cheers!
Love this! Thank you
my Pleasure!!!

You know when your tongue kinda tightens up then saliva kicks in. Imagining this with tabasco sauce. Good thing I got kale growing in my yard. peace.
Oh Yes! That kale gives it a little sweetness. Go on ahead and make you some family!
