Cleaning the main thick rail / bar with alcohol, then giving it a bit of silicone lube, fixed the issue for me. I think that this bar gets dirty with dust and grease, and after a while becomes harder for the motor to slide the head back and forth. Mine was all caked with what looked like black soot. Hope that helps someone! The other stuff in the video did not help mine.
I was panicking Rubin around like chicken head cut off lol 😂 saw this comment clean the main pole used fork to gain a little leverage now rotates perfect and works greats thanks bosss stay blessed

Thank you for posting! This did work for us. However, I will also add that we did change the blade on our fine point housing. Whiling doing this, we did find a small chip in our blade as well as a small piece of vinyl. After watching the video and replacing the blade, we were able to successfully make and cut a card. Thanks again!

thank you so much I have tried everything Cricut steps told me to do for the error code I kept getting and still nothing I even cleared my cookies and cashes on my web browser and still nothing I was about to pull my hair out and I was about to throw my machine it kept stopping in the middle of a cut and telling me I needed to power cycle my machine and was blinking red and it happened 2 times so it was a waste of heat transfer which is a waste of money but it updated the firmware and hoping it works now, I also changed my needle just incase but if this doesn't fix it imma scream.

Didn’t work for me unfortunately Cricut refuses to replace my machine as store told me I had to deal with them directly by time we went through all the trouble shooting machine out of warranty and they won’t budge AHS’s never buy another of their products again

Mine did this but gave me a 45 54 error code customer service wasn't much help. We went thru a cut and of course it cut just fine when we hung up boom it did it again! I'm gonna try replacing the blade because I haven't done that recently. She didn't have me do a hard reset though. I may try that too

I didn’t try your hard reset yet, but what I notice is the little white washers on the silver rod on mine have moved over to the right. I see the washers on yours have moved too. It looks like you have two together in one spot and then one to the left and one to the right. I guess I’m going to have to call Cricut because they shouldn’t be moving.
I’m not home to look..but I think you’re talking about the Star wheels. You can slide them back and forth. You usually move them over if you’re cutting a certain material and don’t want it to get damaged.
I watched video multiple times, but cannot get to work past selecting USB cable. Shows no device found. How do i get past that to tey rest of video by having it update? Thank you
Are you connected to the internet? You may want to make sure you don’t lose connection. Maybe unplug the Cricut for 30 seconds and reboot your computer and try it again. Sometimes that helps fix the issue. Let me know!!

failed to note the machine has to be ON when doing a hard reset. nor if we need to hard reset before updating? i did the update, then hard reset and update again. its only doing it on this ONE project!

I was currently on hold with Cricut while I was watching your video. They told me that on some machines could be damaged by doing the hard reset. Mainly because of the year of the machine and the year of the update. You made a very good informative video though!
I bet that’s because they want you to buy a refurbished one. If it’s under warranty they will replace it for free! This kept happening to me over and over so they sent me a refurbished one just bought a new blade as well praying it works but if it doesn’t and it happens again I saved your video! Ty ty Ty ty
If your mat is stuck, thats probably why your power button is still solid red. That actually just happened to me. I was able to pull the mat out from the back. (it came out easily), if it is difficult to pull. I would definitely call Cricut Customer Service.
I just fixed it 😮 it had nothing to do with the error message!!! I found another video about cutting felt and followed the instructions to the tee and it worked like a charm! These error messages are deceiving

Aw! I’m so sorry to hear that. Which machine did you buy? Did you buy new? I know the Cricut machine can take some time to get use too. Once you get the hang of it, you may end up loving it. Baby steps.

I'm trying to use it for my business but I can't get it going because I spent my money in this instead of a manual cutter - which I used to use back in Europe. There's always an issue with design space, and when that is finally working after calling customer service then the machine itself is not cutting. Right now it gets stuck on the right side before cutting. It starts preparing for the cut and goes side to side but doesn't actually start the cut. Your video is great but unfortunately it didn't fix it for me.
I’m so sorry. I’m not affiliated with Cricut at all or I’d offer to help. I’ve always had great customer service with them, I’m surprised they aren’t replacing your machine.
@@creationswithtory Customer service guys are very friendly, but they refused to change my machine. I wrote many complaining emails but nothing happened. Temporary fixes but then it starts again and again.

But then I realized that there was a second problem that triggered the red button: I was cutting the material bigger than the mat-assigned area, so the guide wasn't reading the area. Also, watching other videos I realized this is especially bad when you are using non-cutting tools, like embossing, perforation, and, in my case, embossing. Thanks again!

If its doing it just on one project, then that project is corrupt

If your mat is stuck, thats probably why your power button is still solid red. That actually just happened to me. I was able to pull the mat out from the back. (it came out easily), if it is difficult to pull. I would definitely call Cricut Customer Service.

Try unplugging the cricut from the wall for 30 seconds. Close cricut design space and reopen it. Then try to update. Let me know if that works.

Cricut machine is a crap cheaply made faulty product. Every time I try to use it I need to call customer service. I regret buying this pile of junk.

This just worked for me for one mat. The second one gave me the same problem. I did the entire process again and it didn’t work the second time 🫠
