I have cooked all kinds of burgers. I have a propane griddle for smash burgers. Will use an infrared grill when I’m cooking burgers for large groups. I typically fire up my Kamado for low & slow. After hearing Kent say that this is the best burger he’s ever had, I had to give it a try. I was able to find the proper dried peppers to recreated his homemade chorizo. I did almost everything according to the recipe (held off on the cackle berry). I used the kamado to give the burgers a 10 min smoke bath (oak). Moved them over to direct heat approx 4 min per side (internal temp 165). After melting cheddar cheese, My wife was the first to prepare her burger & take a bite. She looked at me wide eyed and proclaimed “You will not be disappointed”. I prepped my burger, took a bite and could not believe how amazing it tasted. I looked over at my wife. She said - “Isn’t this the best burger you’ve ever had?” I had to agree. Truly amazed to enjoy a flavor packed burger that I’d gladly share with anyone. In our house we call a recipe like this a “Company Recipe”. This means that we would gladly share food with our friends and family knowing everyone would enjoy. Thanks Kent & Shan for another amazing recipe. Can’t wait to have company over & share the love that’s cooked into this Burger!
Man.... those burgers would pack a flavourful punch, make no mistake. My afternoon was less than happy, then I saw Kent looking my way on the computer screen, so I jumped right in, and it felt like a Saturday afternoon all over again. Thanks for cheering me up as always!
Gonna try this I make homemade chorizo all the time everytime a Boston butt is on sale for .99lb I buy a few I make bunch chorizo and Italian sausage got me wanting a burger now
Thank you Kent and Shann!!! Every vid you make, makes me more proud to be from the GREAT USA!!! I know you have a cooking channel but I feel more patriotic than I did before watching. Love you guys so much!!! God Bless America!!!!!

Thank you so much for that homemade chorizo recipe, I will be using that. Using it to spice up a burger instead of making one from chorizo alone was another pleasant surprise. Best of 2 worlds!
Interesting and how we have different recipes yet how delicious the food comes out. YES we make our own chorizo. DEFINITELY none of that greasy stuff from the store. Then we use most all the chile seeds. Boyfriend says if we threw them away his Father would return from the grave. We do not use beef. We use the pork sausage that we made from the hogs that we butcher. Going to San Cristobal (New Mexico) and staying in a remote cabin for several days. Also packing out homemade chorizo and having it with scrambled eggs and homemade tortillas. Now to trying a chorizo burger. As always Thank you for a fun and informative video!
Hello Mr Kent. I just wanted to say how much i enjoy your program. My Mother and I watched the video on crispy fried fish. Our mouth began to water when we saw the delicious fish you cooked. Your number one with me and my Family. God bless you and yours.
Wow that homemade chorizo burger looked great. Your new hat looks fantastic kent and the group hug was very much appreciated. Enjoy the rest of your week guys 🙏❤️
My wife had that idea a couple of years ago. We mixed a tube of chorizo with a tube of ground beef and grilled those suckers. We’ve done them with traditional burger fixings (lettuce, tomato, ketchup, etc.) and we’ve done them with burrito fixings (sour cream, guacamole, pico, Mexican cheese). Best burgers we have ever made.
Back when I worked at Whole Foods we made Chorizo fresh every day. We would grind 4 or 5 hams fresh in the morning and mix in all the ingredients by hand. It was the best ever. It had the consistency of ground beef and that crazy spice.
This reminds me of a burger I had in Stillwater, OK about 20 years ago. I thought it was just a mix of burger and sausage but I never was able to get it right. Thanks again for another great video.
Mr. Kent. Love your recipes and videos, but I want to take a moment to express how well I think Shan does with the videography, editing, and photography. Amazing work Shan! Ya’ll have a blessed evening!
Great video, wish we had smellivison for that garlic & chili pot as it was cooking. Loved seeing the color of the sky as that storm crept closer. The pups all knew a good place to be.♥️
I'm glad you said thanks to the service men and women,,,my son is in the Marine boot camp right now "just ending week 4" and I worry about him everyday ❤❤❤
Thanks for the video Kent and love what you guys do for all of us as your fans. You truly are an inspiration to myself and many other people watching your videos. God Bless you and your family and I look forward to another video from you guys. Sending love from Missouri.
I love that you honor our service men and women! It helps when I look at my disabled brother, Nick, who fought in the Vietnam War. He now has agent orange seeping out of wounds he received when he was shot, and suffers from a stroke that was most certainly caused by shrapnel that got in his bloodstream and caused a clot in his brain. He has constant tremors and a myriad of other things I won’t go into here. So, Kent, it means a lot that somebody cares about these people who gave the ultimate to keep us safe. His wife, Cathy, of 55 years, has taken care of him always, but especially the last 9 years since he had the stroke. She’s a saint for sure! On a happier note, keep making us laugh with those crazy happy dances. It just makes me laugh out loud! Best to you and Shannon. 💔🐾💔
Nice one Kent, sausage meat mixed with ground beef. Wow !, now that's a new one on me. Alas Kent, ahem........ that was not Kerrygold that you put on the baps (Burger buns). See my friend, I watch your videos very carefully. Another informative cooking video. Thank you Cowboy. (Micheál - Ireland)
Mr. Rollins you're about as wholesome as they come. Love your videos keep up the fine work sir! I'm smoking a brisket this weekend and in going to try out your pig shots as an appetizer. Can't wait :)
Living in southern AZ chorizo is a staple in these parts IT IS. For your viewers that don’t opt to make their own chorizo I’ve found Johnsonville Chorizo in the one pound package is a LOT LESS greasy than the squeeze tube varieties. I use it for breakfast burritos and the flavor is amazing and thanks to this gem of a video I’ll try mixing it with ground beef and dial me up some burgers and here to forward I’m fixing to call it the KR burger! 🤠
Hey Kent & Shan we wear our palm straw hats April to October. I could be 100 deg during Halloween. OMG watching you build that burger made me so hungry. You can see the scars on my right arm in our video's however I always keep in good spirits. God bless your family.
The commercial chorizo I would buy would cook down to nearly nothing, it was like 90% grease, 10% meat. I'm so glad to see this chorizo recipe from you.
Very good. I make mine the same way, just with chipotle as well and I toast the dried chilies before rehydrating them. I do meatloaf with mole sauce like that too! Chorizo burgers on grilled sourdough with cilantro, fresh garden tomato!!❤
Glad to see you make your own chorizo. I see so many cooking channels using store-bought chorizo when home made is tastier, cheaper, and really easy to make. I prefer to make mine with 90/10 ground pork, not breakfast sausage.
Mr, Rollins, thank you so much for the Chorizo recipe. I finally found pitter sausage in my area and made this...oh my goodness...i thought it was awful wet before i put it in the fridge to marinate but again...oh mu goodness after it sat for 14 hours...oh my goodness it was the best Chorizo ive ever had with my eggs...so worth the wait...thank you and God Bless you and Shannon!
When you asked what was new I wasn't looking at the hat. I was seeing nothing was being blown around. I used to go to Apache every spring and get a new straw hat. You got a good 'ern.
I just placed my order of all your seasonings and a bottle of mud, finally got around to it and at good timing for our summer grilling, God bless you Mr. Rollins love all your food and thanks for all your videos
And living in New York, can't buy any good Mexican chorizo, so thanks for that too. Moving up here from the west coast was tough on my taste bud desires lol, you've simplified my access to all our good food southwest style from your multiple videos
Kent Rollins and Malcom Reed. The two best cooking channels on TH-cam! I’m not going to watch this video right now because I just had surgery and can’t eat solid food for another week. Don’t feel like torturing myself! See you in a week Kent!
I make my Chili with Chorizo and Ground beef. A LB of each. Plus a couple cans of Ranch Style Beans (not as good as they used to be - FU Conagra for making a great product inferior) Rotell and a few other things.
Cowboy Kent, when the anxieties of this crazy modern world get to me. All the traffic and angry folks. Your videos bring me back to that place that makes it all alright. Life is good. Keep on keeping on. 👍🏻

Hiya, Kent. Those are some magnificent looking burgers. So is that hat! Oh, my, what a wide brim on that thing and it'll shade your shoulders in the sun and blow you plumb up into Kansas when it's windy! Love that stormy sky behind you too. Hope you get some good moisture out of it.

Organ meats are among the most nutrient dense food in existence. Beef heart tastes like, well, beef. The texture is different, but when ground, you can't tell the difference. It works great in sausage.
As someone who has hand made patties for many years, this is an interesting idea. Also im sure "animal parts" are ingredients in many sausages or hot dogs we eat all the time
