Woodturning - Bamboo Vase

- Welcome to another woodturning project!
This is my second project using bamboo sticks. This time I made a Vase, one half out of maple and the other out of bamboo sticks and resin. I used Danish oil for the finish.

Beautiful piece. I can see an LED light added to the bottom of it to illuminate how awesome that bamboo came out.
Another idea would be swirls of translucent colors in the resin and then a reflective material lining the wood side on the inside, and using it as a candle holder. A flickering flame glowing different colors through each piece of bamboo would look really cool.
didnt think id like this with the half and half and the colour of the resin but completely wrong. love it.

I love woodturning videos. You read the title and look at the thumbnail, endure the ad and then forward to the end to see what it looks like finished.
This is my favorite use of resin in woodworking I have seen in a while...very neat idea!

Wow what an imagination you have that's amazing I love the way the bamboo looks where it was cut down on the edge of the block you made to make this how it cut at an angle wouldn't mind having it sitting on our mantle thank you for sharing this how about trying a piece of all bamboo and resin James

this makes me think of honeycomb, which would also be a really cool pattern to do a vase or bowl with!

I was initially sceptical about the pink resin, but it turned out very cool!
It doesn't really look pink. It makes the bamboo color pop.
