  • Thanks for viewing. Today we have a small Bamboo and Resin vase. I try to include something locally sourced in my projects, so decided to use to create a core out of a log that I picked up by the coast in South West England.
I didn't explain within the video, but after the initial turn of the core I tested the moisture content of the log. It was quite high, so I used a microwave oven to drive out some of the moisture. I quite like the effect of bamboo and resin and am quite pleased with the result and I'm a novice when it comes to this.
I hope enjoy the process and like the result.
Please note: This video is for entertainment purposes. I am a total novice when it comes to woodturning, so please don't rely on this as a guide or follow any of the techniques I am using here - I do wear all the safety equipment and try to follow all the safety instructions provided with the equipment I use.

Thanks for the great comments. I must admit I do love the combination of bamboo and resin and would never have thought of doing it until I saw something similar on social media :-)

Hi there. Thanks for the great comment. I sold this little vase at a craft fair last Christmas. I can't remember the exact price, but it was around £35 I think. Were you asking because you wanted something like that? 😊
