Soulcalibur was left to die after season 2 of SC6 And the less said about how they've treated Xenosaga, Klonoa and .hack, the better. And then you have the souls fandom JUMPING FOR JOY because Fromsoft is now going to be self publishing their games from now on, meaning they dont even have to deal with Bandai Namco anymore. As a Xenoblade fan I'm worried. While Xenoblade is a Nintendo IP, it's connected to Xenosaga, and it seems the next game will officially crossover (thanks to information released on the Xenoblade 3 artbook). I hope Bandai Namco doesn't do a dick move and ruin the future plans for the franchise.
I want a new Splatterhouse, Dead to Rights & Urban Reign (I'm sure there's more I can't think of right now) but they won't do it because they want to play it safe & only rely on IPs with a big name. They don't have many right now & they are ruining their reputation like Konami did when Metal Gear Solid 5 was in development.

To think that the top 3 fighting games all had a new IP coming out within a year was incredibly exciting. SF6 had a great launch that was somewhat marred by their micro transactions and their pricing. I think the fact they seem more bothered about cosmetics for avatars then their fighters hurt them a little bit, especially as historically they go bananas for fighter skins. Also the fact they haven't really done any balance updates or anything is cause for stagnation. MK1 is the dumpster fire that keep giving. Now think back to the first month of Tekken's release. All cylinders were firing and they could seemingly do no wrong......... Thoroughly disappointed how they have spurned all the good faith they had due to over reaching greed. The store and pass is bad enough but to announce it 1-2 months after the reviews speaks volumes, to me. It's simply scummy. Going after modders, piss poor reaction/execution of dealing with pluggers/cheaters, recycling past free assets for actual cash....... For a month they had the world at their feet and the good will of many, many people. Just to piss it down the drain when it would have been so simple to stay the course.

ive been playing t5dr on my psp, and it makes me wish for a steam/fightcade/rpcs3 version to play online on pc easily. Feels incredibly refreshing, great movement, no mid fight cutscenes and combos are far less bloated but accomplish the same.
Namco and Capcom are so dumb man... they saw fortnite's battle pass and just copied it. But the forgot a little thing... the battle pass in fortnite has high quality items and is insanely good value. You literally get all of your money back. So if you play a lot you literally pay 10€ once and get every other one for free.
Tekken 8 is going to be more pay to win as more and more characters come out 👏. Want to lab these 20 other characters that'll be released that you don't care about? Pay up 💵, in my eyes worse than paying for frame data.
Plus there's games like Granblue where I'm pretty sure you can use the in-game freely farmable currency to buy DLC characters. I got the DLC pass as a preorder but from my looking around the last 15 minutes or so it appears that the characters can be obtained just by playing the game enough
tekken doesn't feel the same in tekken 8 bro all these weak players with weak fundamentals are able to compete with strong players just because of the amount of cheese available in this game. Heat and most characters should be toned down.
What really irks me is the amount of tekken coins you get from the pass is exactly 600 which is just enough for the next one. But if they decide to release a new skin it’s gonna be on the store and NOT ON THE PASS, so if you want both, you’ll have to use your coins for the skin, then spend more irl money for the pass again…
Some ranked matches I’ve been playing I play I get told “using the exploit to break the ping data timing cheating line” idek wtf that means I play to have fun, i main kazuya and I’m trying to get use to wave dashing etc on ps5 controller, but I get PM’s saying this and that very annoying
You don't need to learn wave dash so early because it's pointless in the beginner to even intermediate ranks . Because wave dashing counters a Mishima weakness which is them getting sidestepped . So it's tool used for countering sidestepping and applying pressure against your opponents defense . Two things you won't see done effectively in those ranks . I highly recommend using your valuable time to just learn and master the basic fundamentals and Kazuya's executions like using electric for block punish or whiff punish . Also learn an instant electric from a back dash and sidestep . Even if you don't use them in match at your ranks they'll make your executions more consistent in any situation . You can learn wave dash or even KBD and doing attacks from those after you reached higher ranks . For now just stick to the basics . Good luck 👍.
This is my first tekken game. What surprised me is that 2 months after launch a fully priced game already has a shop, battle pass and new character you need to pay for. I would not mind it if it was half the price of a normal AAA game and had that, but i was expecting i would get all the game has to offer for at least a couple of months post launch (including a couple of free new characters)

If I can't lab against a character, then don't force me to fight that character online. Have matchmaking filter out Eddy (and future dlc) characters until I pay for them, or you allow me to lab them. Killer Instinct was the first (and I think only fighting game) that allowed ppl to use ANY character in training mode regardless if you paid for them or not. This was fair. Now in order to "get gud" you have to pony up.
There is something really bad going on in Bandai Namco, alot of other projects for 2023 flopped really hard and CEOs most likely ordered Harada to make Tekken earn all the money company lost.
Or just let us lab against the dlc characters. I just ran into 3 Eddie's in a row and almost ranked down because there is no way I can know the matchup unless I buy the character.
The replay change is outright unacceptable. I can't even put in to words how much that pisses me off. I can't support these decisions and the only reason I haven't dropped it is because I want to play competitively. If it was any other game, I would have dropped it.
People would've given them a pass is if they had a really big prize pool this time for TWT, but knowing they announced the dates withholding the $ amount tells you that probably wont happen either.
Tbh I’m glad I never bought the PC version of Tekken 7 & 8 because with them banning mods, there’s no point of getting an expensive PC anymore just to play those 2 games.
The premium battle pass feels like it should be the free battle pass. What saddens me is that it can be a good addition with some effort. Like you put a vintage skin in the premium battle pass and after the battle pass ends you just put it in the shop so you get it "for free" if you do the battle pass because you get the coins back or you spend 400 coins later. Instead you get these free assets they implement in the game with almost no effort

I get this feeling that the BP was an afterthought by Namco upper management, and Harada and team threw something together in an afternoon. At least if you finish the BP, you get all your Tekken Coins (groan) back.

Bandai really hurt their reputation to me by not including the Fight Pass and some Tekken Coins with the season pass instead of those stupid customization items. That is just scummy to a wild degree. One silver lining I will point out is that once you buy a Fight Pass you theoretically never have to buy one again with real money if you complete each Fight Pass, since when you complete the Fight Pass you get enough Tekken Coins back to buy the next one.

I can't believe they're going after the modding community like that. What an absolutely ignorant decision. If they were going after modders seeking profit from their intellectual property then i could understand, but that's not the case. The modding community are the most dedicated and devoted fans to your game. Any community that has established itself organically around your game only strengthens the overall success of the game, especially in the long term. ive been playing t5dr on my psp, and it makes me wish for a steam/fightcade/rpcs3 version to play online on pc easily. Feels incredibly refreshing, great movement, no mid fight cutscenes and combos are far less bloated but accomplish the same.
Namco and Capcom are so dumb man... they saw fortnite's battle pass and just copied it.
But the forgot a little thing... the battle pass in fortnite has high quality items and is insanely good value. You literally get all of your money back. So if you play a lot you literally pay 10€ once and get every other one for free.
Fortnite is also free.
Also there's more to do in Fortnite as opposed to only fighting or running around a soulless social hub.
Tekken 8 is going to be more pay to win as more and more characters come out 👏. Want to lab these 20 other characters that'll be released that you don't care about? Pay up 💵, in my eyes worse than paying for frame data.

Plus there's games like Granblue where I'm pretty sure you can use the in-game freely farmable currency to buy DLC characters. I got the DLC pass as a preorder but from my looking around the last 15 minutes or so it appears that the characters can be obtained just by playing the game enough
Bamco don’t listen to the community when they do balancing patches, they only focus on their assessments of the characters and it shows
tekken doesn't feel the same in tekken 8 bro all these weak players with weak fundamentals are able to compete with strong players just because of the amount of cheese available in this game. Heat and most characters should be toned down.

What really irks me is the amount of tekken coins you get from the pass is exactly 600 which is just enough for the next one. But if they decide to release a new skin it’s gonna be on the store and NOT ON THE PASS, so if you want both, you’ll have to use your coins for the skin, then spend more irl money for the pass again…

Some ranked matches I’ve been playing I play I get told “using the exploit to break the ping data timing cheating line” idek wtf that means I play to have fun, i main kazuya and I’m trying to get use to wave dashing etc on ps5 controller, but I get PM’s saying this and that very annoying
You don't need to learn wave dash so early because it's pointless in the beginner to even intermediate ranks . Because wave dashing counters a Mishima weakness which is them getting sidestepped . So it's tool used for countering sidestepping and applying pressure against your opponents defense . Two things you won't see done effectively in those ranks . I highly recommend using your valuable time to just learn and master the basic fundamentals and Kazuya's executions like using electric for block punish or whiff punish . Also learn an instant electric from a back dash and sidestep . Even if you don't use them in match at your ranks they'll make your executions more consistent in any situation . You can learn wave dash or even KBD and doing attacks from those after you reached higher ranks . For now just stick to the basics . Good luck 👍.

This is my first tekken game. What surprised me is that 2 months after launch a fully priced game already has a shop, battle pass and new character you need to pay for. I would not mind it if it was half the price of a normal AAA game and had that, but i was expecting i would get all the game has to offer for at least a couple of months post launch (including a couple of free new characters)
Play Tekken 7 instead. It's the best they've put out by far

Is it weird to ask to have the character balancing to return to the day 1 version of the game? It would make the company look bad to need to “revert” the updates/ patches but wouldn’t that be a lot easier than constantly updating to what seems fit.

Furthermore, 50 days passes for a pass that ends a few days after its release, it doesn't really make sense for what it offers (closed this morning). The only positive note is that you get the coins needed for the next battle pass

If I can't lab against a character, then don't force me to fight that character online. Have matchmaking filter out Eddy (and future dlc) characters until I pay for them, or you allow me to lab them. Killer Instinct was the first (and I think only fighting game) that allowed ppl to use ANY character in training mode regardless if you paid for them or not. This was fair. Now in order to "get gud" you have to pony up.

There is something really bad going on in Bandai Namco, alot of other projects for 2023 flopped really hard and CEOs most likely ordered Harada to make Tekken earn all the money company lost.
The should give you 2hrs of free time with DLC characters in fighting games

Or just let us lab against the dlc characters. I just ran into 3 Eddie's in a row and almost ranked down because there is no way I can know the matchup unless I buy the character.

SF6 has Rental Fighter. One hour with any dlc character if you have a ticket which are pretty easy to get. I can't get anymore until I use one. lol
The replay change is outright unacceptable. I can't even put in to words how much that pisses me off.
I can't support these decisions and the only reason I haven't dropped it is because I want to play competitively. If it was any other game, I would have dropped it.
People would've given them a pass is if they had a really big prize pool this time for TWT, but knowing they announced the dates withholding the $ amount tells you that probably wont happen either.

The premium battle pass feels like it should be the free battle pass. What saddens me is that it can be a good addition with some effort. Like you put a vintage skin in the premium battle pass and after the battle pass ends you just put it in the shop so you get it "for free" if you do the battle pass because you get the coins back or you spend 400 coins later. Instead you get these free assets they implement in the game with almost no effort

Bandai really hurt their reputation to me by not including the Fight Pass and some Tekken Coins with the season pass instead of those stupid customization items. That is just scummy to a wild degree. One silver lining I will point out is that once you buy a Fight Pass you theoretically never have to buy one again with real money if you complete each Fight Pass, since when you complete the Fight Pass you get enough Tekken Coins back to buy the next one.
I agree, Ive been destroyed by eddy in 3 consecutive games and when I had enough and want to know how to deal with him. The training says “nope, you need to buy him, no replay for you”.

Every time I load this game up I feel like I shave a day off my lifespan , I feel like I’m playing slot machine simulator instead of the game Ive played for the last 19years , if you don’t abuse being plus 5 into mixups you basically lose a round and defensively one wrong guess can get you launched for a bad life lead where they can loop back into the same frame trap that guarantees 1-2 more turns for your opportunity
