Great review! The comfort alone is insane. I hope Sivga uses the chassis as a basis for future headphones, because that alone is going to give them an edge. They seem to be building a group of headphones with different tunings, which is good since people like different things.
Hi Dave, excellent review again, thanks! Question: I like my HD600 on my Darkvoice tube-amp. Did you try the Luan on tubes? If yes: is it a similar "jump forward" as the HD600 in enjoyment?
Hi lovely review. Could I ask if you think this would be a worthwhile upgrade to the Sennheiser 560S, and also how you think these compare to the 660S2?
Isn't it incredible what they can build and sell for $300,- . I don't own any Sivga headphones, but damn they look good. My favorite hifi store mentioned them in their newsletter last week. I recently bought the Denon ah-d9200 and the Fiio FT3. My next buy...... ?? Probably Stax
Another contender in the line up! I’ve been thinking of picking up the sundara, but this might sway me a bit. Listen to a wide range of music. What would you prefer since they are in the same price bracket?
Different presentation. The Sundara is more intimate, closer stage width, has a little more powerful impact when powered correctly and are a tad more forthright in presenting details, may have a slight advantage with resolution. The tone and timbre is more accurate on the Luan.
Hey Dave, it was the HD600 which lured me deeper into the proverbial rabbit hole way back shortly after being introduced in the 1990's and since then I have purchased a number of headphones, a few of which I have sold off. I currently own 17 pairs. My wife and friends think I'm crazy but I enjoy listening to what is always like different systems, in my view. So along the way I have tried open and closed back, I've tried wooden cups, planars, wireless, noise cancelling, etc. I currently have 3 Sennheiser (535/600/660S2), 3 Audeze (EL-8/LCD-2/LCD-X), Elex, DCA Open X, Sundara, 2 KEF (MM500/Porsche Design Space One), Sundara, Mark Levinson 5909, 3 Sony and Meze 109 Pro, all from various price points. I haven't been able to part with a few of them for various reasons of my own but mostly because I hate losing money and I trust my own ears enough to know if I hate a headphone. So my question here is: does it make sense to you to keep shopping on the lower end of the scale or to spend a bit more for a better headphone? I know it might sound silly but I have to set a limit at some point because my pockets aren't real deep. I would love to try out the Audeze MM500 which would be at my absolute upper level of expenditure, but to be honest I hate the fact that their pads fall off all the time.
Nice collection of headphone. It's amazing how the 600 holds up over the years. I get enjoyment out of headphones of varying price points but none are as good as my Audeze LCD-5. So spending money on headphone is worth it. But I say when purchasing at a high tier price tag know what you seeking and do your research. But there is a difference in quality and sonics.
I’ve also owned dozens of headphones & currently have 13. I’d recommend selling some of the lower tier stuff that are mostly side grades of each other & use that money to get something higher tier; a flagship. Personally I don’t see it as losing money since you’ve gotten X amount of time w those headphones, I think of it as renting them & going to someone else who can continue to enjoy them
You also liked the Oriole very much but it looks like the Luan graphs a bit better avoiding the dip Oriole has. Are they very different? I bought the Oriole and I like them very much but there just seems to be something missing I can't put my finger on. I suspect it shows in the graphed dip though.
Yes, the Luan is a vast improvement over the Oriole in my opion. It is more balanced and controlled. The Oriole does have more bass impact and is warmer though.
Thanks for the honest review. Tell me if you compare them with Денон 7200 If comparable. Where there are more details, the width of the scene, the completeness of expressiveness of the instruments, their outlining ? На твой взгляд
oh, I was expecting another answer, but thanks. Obviously I watched the video first and I'm sorry if I didn't understand 100% of the video because I don't speak English, I have to read the subtitles and translate them in real time while I watch the video. I'm sorry if I'm not up to par with your explanations. It's just that I have a very good opinion of the Luan but an ambiguous final comment, it is not clear to me if you think it is better or worse than the HD600. Sorry, I won't bother you anymore.
The HD600 is better with natural tone and timbre, more mid forward, better with layering and depth. The Luan sounds more open and has more bass. I'm sorry if I offended you, that wasn't my intent. I assumed you skipped the comparison. I apologize for jumping to conclusions.
ok, thanks for the clarification😀, everything is fine, you don't have to apologize, I appreciate your quick response and I congratulate you for your reviews and comparisons that I usually see frequently. Thank you for your comments. Greetings😉
The 109 Pro is a bit more biting in the upper mids, especially around 8k. Neither are offensive to me but the 109 Pro has a little more. But both could be to if someone is sensitive in that area.
Both are good but the Luan sounds more accurate and natural. Here is a link to my SV023 review: th-cam.com/video/2Zo59K8H6aI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ECL4JVQ5wjxHEnc8
I've not heard either since I reviewed them which was at least a year ago. If memory serves me correctly the LCD-X is more neutral and analytical than the Clear og.
There are so few truly comfortable headphones, great to see your review, thanks
My pleasure, you're welcome.

Thanks Dave! This are now on my list. Great Review!!! 👍👍👍
Awesome 👍 Glad you found the review helpful.
Definitely one of the nicest built headphones in this price segment, they look fantastic!
Thanks lad. It's now on my list as well and I've already ordered the stand for it. 😊 Brilliant stuff.
Awesome!
@@TheHonestAudiophile Right in between the HD600 and the HD650. 😉👍
That stand looks stunning

The Luan sounds great on tubes but doesn't scale like the HD600 on tubes.

I have done the same as you, but I eventually go the HD800s. Kind of wish I had started there.

I don't even need to watch the whole video, you sound so excited to talk about these, they gotta be good.
Glad you enjoy the video. I do really enjoy the Luan.
Please watch the whole video, it helps the algorithm.
I'd love to know how this shakes out against the new HD620S coming next month.
Considering the 620s is a closed back and Luan is an open back it wont be a fair comparison. But I hope to get a 620s in for review at some point.
@@TheHonestAudiophile From what I hear, it's pretty darned open sounding so it may not be so unfair.... ; )

Sorry I haven't heard the Denon 7200.
Great review, so, Should I sell my H600 in order to buy a pair of sivga Luan? (I ussually listen classicl & jazz) Thanks a lot in advance

Did you find the presence region more bothersome on these or the 109 Pro?

Hello.
Do you prefer Sivga Luan over the Sivga SV23 ?
Both are good but the Luan sounds more accurate and natural.

If I’m not bothered by HD800s will this headphone bother me?
Luan shouldn't be an issue for you.
focal clears og vs audeze lcd x which one according to you has the best sound quality?
I've not heard either since I reviewed them which was at least a year ago. If memory serves me correctly the LCD-X is more neutral and analytical than the Clear og.
@@TheHonestAudiophile so, do you think the lcd x is more fun to listen to?
Hmmm the Focal Clear has a bit more fun factor if I remember correctly.

At 11:23... gastrointestinal frequencies are faithfully reproduced as well
Will you tell us the real truth, how does it compare to HD 600, the ollo s4x, and the mixing capable headphones....I'm tired searching
10:40 comparison to HD600
S5X is better for mixing than the S4X.
The case looks a bit like a butt 🫣
The Sivga cases really resemble cow udders in my eyes. Can't unsee! XD
It reminds me of a babies bottom 😂
Not really, demoed it.
We all hear differently. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing.
