This shows how good Australians are at giving people a go, it also shows your a good bloke showing the young fellas to get out there and have a go. Respect Tommy
I stopped at every farm I saw equipment in asking if they were hiring. 1 guy hired me because I had no experience running heavy equipment. He said it was a plus because I didn't have any bad habits he would have to break. Worked running every piece of machinery for over 20 years because I took a chance. Great video. It works
I live in Bulgaria. I have a friend that has a restaurant and he doesn't hire experienced waiters because 1) Depending on their morals they can steal (and know the tricks) 2) They have bad habits that need breaking 3) They can leave any time I am just sayin that there are businesses that prefer people with a good attitude and are willing to teach them the skills.
I don’t comment on TH-cam but you represent what Australia is about, or used to be about. An honest fella having a go, and being given a fair go in return. You’re a true Aussie Tommy, keep at it bloke 👍
I know people with more tickets than a Justin Bieber concert that talk like they can’t even pull the alphabet together so I don’t know what your talking about 😂
They way he carries himself & his size all go in his favour. Not everyone is getting accepted on dace value like that. Even if their intentions are good.
@@تشؤنسخىpeople do all the time here dont get me wrong tommy does have a bit of swagger or gift of the gab but so do most normal people in construction and mining its just blokes talking having a bit of a laugh and bit of banter
Awesome video ! That's how I got employed underground at Kestrel brother, knocking on doors in Emerald, started as a cleaner onsite at kestrel, then went around all the contractors and ended up getting a job with Advanced. Back in 2011 2012
This guy is the man . Respect this guy so heavily for not only talking about how to get a job for anyone but going out there and showing you how to do it
Good on you mate, love the old school approach, today I’m a fitter in the mines, but when I was younger working stations out west, this is how I got my jobs, Friday night in the pub when all the bosses came to town
That statement got me. If you want here at 6 I'll be there at 5:30. This is the way I've been my entire life. My first job was welding shop gopher Dad helped me get that job. The attitude of showing up early leaving late and being available for anything, to a point, has served me well. I've always been able to get a job it might not be what I wanted but I've never been out of a job. Thank you Sir this is showing people if you apply yourself you'll never go hungry.
Yes tommy lad, really nice to see this. as a tree surgeon in the uk it’s still a bit like this for the young fellas getting on the tools, turn up on time, don’t moan and have a good attitude and you will be surprised how far you can get.
Now this is the sort of clip I love to watch. Just shows knowing how to be polite and having a good work ethic, and can get you many places. Awesome Video bro.. definitely subscribing ❤
Well done Tommy, that is the only way I have ever got a job , walking up and asking some bloke , after doing that my phone number got passed on and now I don't have to look for work people call me to ask if I'm available to work, anybody can do it ,
Construction is a good career, most young blokes are gonna love it. Done it for 30 years now, work outside, with your hands. See what you made at the end of every day, how its something useful, like a house for a family to live in. And best of all, the mates you make and work with, its a great environment.
I know where i am in Adelaide roadworks crews always have jobs going, its hard to find people that fit in willing to work that hard and get up for early starts etc. The type of guys that the industry attracts will give respect to someone willing to approach and ask for a job like this. If its your first job , your lacking tickets licenses etc and your on job seeker let the boss know the gov will give wage subsidies and the network provider will pay for any training needed like Truck licenses etc too
Quality video m8. I know so many people in trades who keep saying they just can’t get good young workers anymore. I keep hearing the same thing; lazy teenagers who can’t show up on time. Always on their phone. Always bitching and making excuses. We could have a massive hole in the workforce in a few years if we’re not careful.
When I turned 15, my dad gave me the best birthday present he could have ever dreamed. He handed me an application for a local grocery store. In instilled a work ethic in me that he has. He’s 84 years old now and I’m 44. I can’t thank him enough. All of my friends back then didn’t have to work, look how they turned out.
Great example mate did the exact same thing, 2008 a young chippie, work got very quiet due to the recession. Friday arvo i was at the industrial area handing out my cv. 2nd place I went to offered me a start on Monday. 16years later with some great financial decisions along the way and now retired at 34. "Tough times never last only tough people"🧠💪🏾 great vid bro. Just have a crack! Whats the worst a "NO"🤝🏾
This is how I've found a lot of the UK I've done in the UK too. It's the same everywhere. Learn to hold your head up, look people in the eye and speak with confidence. Most important skills you can ever develop
Greta video mate this is exactly how you get noticed and people look you in the eye and get a feel for who you are most grafters can get a feel pretty quickly from a potential worker ..I get asked a lot and I'm always willing to give you g ones that are trying to work a chance It shows the commitment of your prepared to do the long walk alone to ask someone if you can graft for them ...
Good on ya lad, the opportunities are still there it’s just a matter of having the initiative and drive to go for them. Really hoping this mentality sticks around for as long as it can
Hey Tommy!, NZ is the same, if you go in, ask and show good communication/keenness. You'll find atkeast 3-5 people that'll give you a crack. It's all about asking, thw worst that can happen ia they say no, which you never had the job to start with so you aren't losing anything.
im 27 and a boilermaker welder by trade, the best way to get a job is to get into ya hi-vis and boots and go for a walk down to an industrial area and hand out resumes
I flew into Australia from Ireland on a Monday made 2 phone calls and was working on wensday never was out of work in the years I was there for 1 day grate country
it's basically about the physical appearance and the character of the man...if you look under 30 and in good shape and you seem friendly with no hassles someone will give you a go...having this type of confident easy going islander vibe in oz you'd get work within just a week by looking like this ..the point is not many dudes are motivated to do it they want the easy way of selling drugs or pimping a girl out and late nights partying and waking up late
Good on you mate, I do the same thing...last 3 jobs I've got by just asking around industrial areas. Goes for any job, any place, you could be the person they're looking for before they advertise, then you're first in line.
Yep 100% full of confidence you can tell he is very experienced at all types of work .obviously lernt alot as a kid .so teach them young .l was same as this bloke l could drive tractors when l was 5 by myself .worked on potatoe farm as a kid hunting.front end loaders when l was 12 loading trucks while my dad watched .done all the hard labour jobs as well as professional jobs.l started at 16 PA Sound n lights first 2 weeks worked with midnight oil .Concert rigging also lighting on freeways. concrete Gardner ,building.nothing l wouldn't do..its never to late to learn but always work safe don't take risks use the right tools and safety equipment and put in the hard yards .61 now home maintenance and dirtbikes is what l do now.
Man,just found your channel. Some crack up videos. Same here in NZ. The job market has shrunk a bit of the past few months but this sort of attitude will find you a job quite quickly over here too.
Respect to you Tommy it’s the same here in Scotland word of mouth gets u going but sadly far to many lay about junkies.I’ve always said if ur willing to work u will work
I don’t think the problem is job availability, but lack of work ethic. Love the videos you do to try and inspire the young and install a bit of that 90s style mentality. Kids these days just need better role models to aspire to, so just keep doing you👌🏽
That’s it man, a lot young people today don’t want to start from the bottom and work their way up. They see the fake influences on instagram with their fake lifestyles and think that’s the norm
In the states, people get a complex about it. They want paid top dollar for jobs that require almost no skill at all. People think patience is a skill. They want paid $20/hr for simply not reaching across the counter and hitting a customer, never mind the fact that they can't get your order right and have a terrible attitude, which is also your fault. The worst part is you can't tell them anything either, cause they already have all the answers.
This shows how good Australians are at giving people a go, it also shows your a good bloke showing the young fellas to get out there and have a go. Respect Tommy
Need more people to come and ask for work ! Get off there ass and put themselves out there ! Means more than applying by email
so blessed im in australia couldnt imagine being anywhere else...💙

Yeah 20 years ago. Nowdays you need a 457 visa and the ability to get paid $8 an hour to walk into a job ....
@jamesaustralian9829 can still do it today. At least in America you can.
I don’t comment on TH-cam but you represent what Australia is about, or used to be about. An honest fella having a go, and being given a fair go in return. You’re a true Aussie Tommy, keep at it bloke 👍
Tommy your a credit to yourself and family mate it’s a good side of social media. Very relevant and genuine

Man,
Much love for your positive outlook, your encouragement, and good general manners.

“I got no tickets” looks and talks like a bloke with many tickets😂😂😂 Solid vid Tommy🔥🔥🔥

I so respect that Tommy. I respect you Sir.
I am 100% in board with this message, but i gotta say, it defintely helps you are an absolute unit and looming for labour work 😂
