I truly do believe laughter is the best medicine. Frasier is one of the great sitcoms I watch to help me through widowhood experience. My husband died on 9/11/2021. The morning of the disasterous 9/11 we were here at home together. Little did we know that that would be the date he would pass from this earth years later.

I was never a early morning TV watcher, but every day now I watch the early morning news. My daughter rang me that morning and she said Dad put your TV on, I said what channel she said it doesn’t matter

Everything in my life was before 9/11 & after 9/11 .. My Father had died fprty days before & I told him at the cemetery that the whole world had just changed .. Jane Leeves reminded me of the profound quiet of that day .. My wife & I were up preparing to go out to eat at a place we often frequented .. After we watched the news a while we went on to eat .. The restaurant was so very subdued & quiet .. It was eerie & people were not talking yet of what we'd all seen .. But everybody seemed nicer than usual .. So very quiet .. For a few moments .. Days .. The United States seemed united .. It did not last at all .. But we experienced it together for a short while .. TgT

That comment about how quiet the grocery store was also struck me. I went to church with my family that night and the church was full.
It was so quiet in there. There was definitely a feeling of us all coming together, but people were in shock and grieving.

"Everybody was quite and being polite to one another at the grocery store." 19 years later the complete opposite when Covid hit. 9/11 was truly the last time this country came together.

You know about that day after my shift and the School District I worked at Custodian/Van Driver I first heard the first plane hit the first tower and then after I heard ithe 2nd one hit the second one my first reaction was I wanted to join the Navy to be a Navy Seal but I had to think that I at that time I was 39 and too old miliary service that night on the tonight show Jay Leno said in his Monologue that our job as entertainers is we like giving a Lemonade and Cookie after a bad day he said that with tears in his and a broken Heart it has stuck with Me to this day you all make us laugh and still do we watch Fraiser in re runs on Paramount Channel daily.

I was 13 when JFK was assassinated, for three days there was nothing but news updates about his assasination ,just when we thought it was over ,Lee Harvey Oswald was murdered on live t.v;.
I remember exactly what I was doing on 9/11 ,I wax getting ready to go to work at a private college ,my daughter called and said a second plane had crashed into the work trade towers ,i had to get to work ,when I got there no one was working ,they were all glued to the television, one of our counselors had a son who worked on Wall Street ,she hadn’t been able to reach him ,finally around 11:00 A.M Eastern Standard time she got a hold of him.
I’m reminded of a speech FDR made after the attack on Pearl Harbor ,” This day will remain a day in infamy “ or words to that affect ,I think it’s applicable for 9/1! as well.

I remember feeling so relieved to watch both Fraser and Friends. These shows seemed to help us heal for an hour. The connection to Friends, based in New York, was very special. Those days were so very dark, and yet we all felt closer to each other as people. It sad to see that squandered by the political games the left has done. The riots, BLM, feminism gone mad…terrorism hit our homeland and has taken up residence. I miss the closeness we shared after 9-11.

May I ask how old you are? Only asking because typically it's people who were very young or not yet born at that time who don't still feel the gravity of 9/11. Nothing against the younger people at all. When my parents talked about where they were when JFK was shot, I didn't connect with it like they did.
