I always fall off on these series(es?) but I always love seeing you play ONI! Your commentary is consistently so calm and lovely. I'm not great at the game myself, but learn a lot when I see you play. Thank you for making ONI vids!
automatic bottled liquid is so good! theyve said time and time again they didnt want all the liquid just stored in bottles with the other solids, but here we are finally doing it.
Your channel was my first exposure to ONI. I have been hooked ever since! This was back when you could use abysalite to make perfectly insulated tiles. Maybe back in 2018?? It’s also cool that yours was the first channel I’ve seen yet to demo the new DLC. Love your ONI vids!
Seems like the priority is: Research > Gunk Extractor > Coal Generator > Soldering Station > Charging Station. Also, seems like Gunk > Balm should be done continuously until Gunk can be converted back to Crude Oil.
There is a bit of a technology curve to get these guys up and running. I ended up with bionic dupes running from the time they woke up until they went to bed. I don't think I have ever switched to coal faster in a previous playthru.
Another series another beginning, once this fully comes out i think I'll incorporate it into my lategame frosty planet savefile Also the long form video for the start helps tracking colony progress 😄 I also suggest getting that SPOM running for the extra hydrogen -> power -> batteries
Hey G2G, I think you also connected the bionic machines to the same automation wire as the coal generator. Not sure if they will work with the automation. Keep up the great work.
I'm sorry if you covered this and I missed it, but do the bionic dupes have morale requirements? Because if not, it seems like you would want to immediately give them the skill-up chips as soon you as you built the crafting table. The efficiency that would give seems huge when you have access to so few dupes.
good to see you back, love when you cover oxygen not included. any thoughts on covering maybe like factorio, or darkest dungeon? also not sure if you've heard of it but cosmoteer starship architect and commander is pretty neat. loved your green hell videos too, thanks for the content
I've played Factorio a few times on the channel (link below). Darkest Dungeon wasn't really for me but I did try it. Cosmoteer looks neat but I'm not very creative so I sort of suck at those sorts of design/build crazy things games.
I messed up by combining the frosty planet DLC with this. Not having coal power really gunks up the works. A bionic dupe takes 200 watts of power which means they need to spend half their lives on the wheel to sustain themselves.
Is the recharger sweeper compatible? If it is, you could put chargers close to each other and power them from below or above so a sweeper could move batteries in an out.
I got Bionic 3 days ago awesome DLC, robots/androids dupes easily stay up 24hrs no more sleep because I hate normal dupes lazy in bed while unfinished building & some dupes trapped to death lol. I played Rimworld always robots/androids colonists better defend my base & works.
Starting with high tier skills but not being able to raise attributes is interesting. While mixing regular and bionic dubes requires managing both I think starting with a single bionic dupe as a digger will be the way to go. My first thought was mechatronics but you can just reroll a regular dupe for that or make the booster when you actually unlock solid shipping. Making an extra outhouse restricted to the bionic dupe is easy enough until you unlock the proper tech. Can they wear suits?
I'm not sure until I would play for myself, but the bionic dupes seem way harder to manage and don't have too many benefits... at least for the early game 😅.
if i already have frosty pack dlc world and i want to download the new bionic dlc, can i enjoy the content of bionic dlc in my existing world?, i mean when i play frosty pack i also can access the content of spaced out dlc
Do the bionic dupes consume the same amount of oxygen as regular dupes? Cause I can't think of what they would be spending that on other than their brain (which would be ~20% of the consumption of a normal duplicant, if modeled after humans). Might be an extra thing to make the early game easier cause the battery stuff seems like a high tax on labor etc
@@GrindThisGame An interesting thing I've noticed with playing myself is that if they're just running on their gas tanks, they don't produce CO2 at all, which is different to regular dupes
Your coal generator is never going to run if your batteries are being topped up with the manual generator. It only requests coal when the batteries are below 50%, and it only becomes enabled when the batteries gut to 0%, so you have to disable the manual generator to allow them to fill it with coal and for the battery to turn it on. They are wasting so much time running on the manual generator for DAYS, when there is a perfectly good coal generator right there waiting for the batteries to get low to turn it on. Just disable the manual generator so it will run.
@@GrindThisGame Yeah, I saw that you separated them when you could not get the generator to turn on, but it doesn't solve the problem of the dupes running all the time, which is the whole point of having it. If you just connect the grids back together and disable the manual generator, the coal one will do its job. You can also solve this by changing the battery ranges so that the smart battery is something like 85%-95%, and the manual generator is at 10%. Then set the coal request on the generator to 95%, so that it will always ask for coal before the battery runs completely empty.
Nice to see that once again, the go-to color choice from Klei is Pink with a touch of rainbow here and there. They are trying to improve their ESG score I guess...
It was frustrating watching you talk about how the Gunk Extractor is important, but then you don't prioritize the pipes or output, it just sits there half done, until multiple cycles have passed. Actually it seems like you don't think about priorities much at all until something is wrong.
@@GrindThisGame that is completely negligible then if that's the case My only questions at that point then would be A. Can they be an extreme temperatures without debuffs and B. Can they be in steam rooms and steam is still technically a liquid based atmosphere Regardless thank you for your test work and putting these videos up a while I'm 4 hours away from my computer lol
So many years have passed since this game came out, but I still come back to it from time to time.
Same:)
I always fall off on these series(es?) but I always love seeing you play ONI! Your commentary is consistently so calm and lovely. I'm not great at the game myself, but learn a lot when I see you play. Thank you for making ONI vids!
Glad you enjoy the videos. Thanks for the kind words!
Man, the game seems much more challenging with a fully bionic colony!
More planning for sure. I'm not sure how it would work without abyssalite.
yeah a hybrid colony seems like the ideal build, but I like the added challenge.
In terms of food it seems quit easy with Bots only
oooh!! I am much more excited for this DLC than the Frosty one.
I always lick 9v batteries to see if they work. The shock is a bonus
Good taste :)

Sweet, I came back to playing Oxygen not included again and I alway enjoy listening to your playlists over any other TH-camr ☺️
Glad you enjoy it!
57:04 automation will turn off solder station and recharger when at full battery
Ooops
I never expected to hear Grind to say bugger, I was caught off guard 🤣🤣 29:03
How English of me.

This DLC look amzing so far, it really change a lot to the game mechanic. Can't wait for the serie
Agreed!
Uhh!! Thanks for this!!! I was hoping to see a playthrough of this DLC!!
Yay! Thank you I love when u play oxygen not included!
Me too :)

Seems correct. Crafting station early.

I haven't been uploading much.

Yeah I probably did :) Will fix next time.
The Dupe Whisperer is back!
Nice.
Indeed!

They have skills and morale. The skills are mostly more slots and athletics.
And the ONI King 👑 is back. All hail Grind this Game.
Thanks!
omg welcome back king❤❤
Thanks!
It would be interesting to start a colony with bionic dupes only to set up the infrastructure and make tons of food for a regular dupe at the end.

How many screaming to disable the hamster wheel once the coal was built? Good video as always. Wanna see more.
I sort of finally noticed :P But I think I split the networks.
Yes! The stupid coal gen is sitting there unused because the dupes are keeping power maxed with the hamster wheel!
You're back
Klei pulled me back in :P
Love your videos, keep it up ~
Thank you!
14:45 should have taken the Pufflet eggs for Slime Oil
nah

14:29 will an outhouse loaded on biopoop still make morbs?
Hmm good question.
You should try to separate the gunk toilet and the apothecary into separate rooms

@@GrindThisGame Yeah have microchips in bed every 3 cycles
that schedule was something else
I just made some good ass soup and wished I had something great to go with it.
And I just found it.
I also go well with pizza.
your ran automation wire through two buildings I don't think you wanted too. When you set up your second coal gen.

They can wear suits... and will need them.
Did you try to just build more outhouses and destroy them rather than cleaning them? I wonder if it would be quicker as a stop gap in the beginning ?
Great plan!
You know about the wire snipper tool right? Its great and not a mod
Yup
I'm not sure until I would play for myself, but the bionic dupes seem way harder to manage and don't have too many benefits... at least for the early game 😅.
Lol, I was literally thinking of doing the same

can i ask if theres a reason why spaced out is off? genuinely curious.
Didn't want to visit all other asteroids.
I have a question. Do the bionic dupes socialize? Do they socialize with normal dupes?
I'm not sure.....

Should be an interesting one.
Sure that automation wire won't cause any problems?
It's fixed in episode 2.
Hello, can you please tell Klei to make oxygen not included Online Co-op?
It will always be single player.
How do you get access to the beta? This seems so cool
Right click on the game in steam and it's in there somewhere.
Very interesting 😁
just paying that copper tax

Perfection is nice to see but kind of boring. Lol. Embrace the chaos!
That's called streamer brain, they always miss the most obvious things because they are paying attention to more than just the game. It's annoying
Yay
Shine bug rector?
Lag monster?
@GrindThisGame but it's clean an renewable
eerrmm actually 🤓☝ the dupes should be able to generate more power than they consume.
Interesting... FREE ENERGY??
@
This could ruin the game! Just make the robo-dupes generate power for them and for the colony instead of taming volcanos or making SPOMS.
Bionic doooops!
38:00
Man, how tf u supposed to get the carnivore achievement if youve got dupes that dont eat?
Use normal dupes :)

Bionic Booster Bupes
Bupes!
Why do bionic need oxygen
Part organic I guess?
🎉🎉
if they hate water, doesn't that mean liquid locks are off the table?
yikes
