I'm not sure about the etymology of the word "milestone," but both literally and figuratively this video chronicles a milestone in your chateau adventure.
That is very true. Thanks Seth ☺️ It was such a strange sensation walking through the arch that was once a solid stone wall (although which was also once an archway a long time ago!). It would be fun to have a Time Machine to revisit the different structures of the chateau over the centuries.
Magnifique arche. Je connais pas vos autres projets pour l'autre pièce mais les 2 ouverture avec l'arche c'est bien et symétrique, ma vision en arrière de votre lentille, moi je les boucherais pas
It’s not a bad idea. We have quite a few of those doorway/pantries scattered around the chateau, including a couple in that space so we probably don’t need the additional ones (famous last words). I dread to think how long and painful it would have been to clear that rubble by hand.
Amazing stamina, considering all that you have done, and with a baby in tow! Gorgeous arch! Your chateau is beautiful. All three of you are camera-friendly/photogenic! Your rock worker is very talented.
Thank you ☺️ super kind words. It’s been a hard slog, but we are so pleased with the result and Brian, the stone mason, is fantastic 🙌🏼 so grateful for the support of our amazing TH-cam community and the amazing artisans who are teaching us their trade as the renovation progresses. 🙏🏼 ☺️
I think you need to be less critical of yourself! What you’ve done with little or no knowledge of DIY is absolutely astounding! Don’t let it overwhelm you, break it all down into little jobs rather than one big mammoth job and start checking it off the list and see your progress! Well done to you both!
You three have come such a long way and I'm truly amazed at the results you guys have achieved but I do have a non château question, now you live in France and I take it you both speak French. Now you have your beautiful son what language are you going to teach him to use first, it's just on film you use English with him. I mean to say it's hard enough to learn one language at that age, I hope I'm totally wrong and he just learns to speak English and French together. Do you have a plan or just see how he gets on. Sorry if the question is too intrusive and please tell me to mind my own bee's knees if it is. Wishing you all well Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Hi Gary. Not at all. We are actually trying to teach him three languages: French, English and Swedish. It likely means he won’t start speaking properly until 3-6months later than other kids typically might, but both Nicole and I learned two languages growing up from a young age and I guess we are keen for Noah to have the same benefit/experience. He now has childcare with a French nanny several times a week, so while I do speak a little French with him, he gets most of that from the ‘nounou’ as they are called or my mum. We then mostly speak English amongst ourselves and Nicole speaks to him in Swedish when it’s just the two of them. What’s hopeful to see is that there are lots of bilingual children in the near village/vicinity as there are quite a few expats who have moved over with children or who have had children once they moved to France. Sorry, that was a very long winded answer. 🫣
I realize that this was shot months ago, and perhaps your video skills have grown since then, but... It would be so much better video if you just showed us what you are talking about. With your face taking up most of the screen the things you are talking about are out of focus and mostly obscured. You are making amazing progress and it would be nice to be able to see more of it.
That is totally fair enough. I think I was very sleep deprived when filming that one. I almost didn’t include that video when editing the other day but it had some useful info worth sharing so decided to keep it in. Will ensure to include more background visuals going forwards ☺️ Thanks for the feedback. 😊
Because of the way you’re holding the camera, everything else except your face was out of focus.; your head occupying most of the screen. Also, most of the time the top half of your face was not even in the picture.
I know 🫣 I was very sleep deprived when I took that one. Almost didn’t include it, but then thought the info was useful for viewers… will do better next time.
Nice to see it all come together after all your hard graft.
Thank you. We are super pleased with the result 😊🎉
It’ll looks magnificent. Thank you for sharing.❤
Thank you ☺️
It’s absolutely gorgeous!
Great job!
✨🌞✨
Thank you. 🙏🏼 ☺️ and thank you Brian!! 🙌🏼
Archway looking good
Thank you. We are really pleased with the result. ☺️

Merci ☺️ c’est vrai que les ouvertures sont symétriques, mais vu le projet pour la salle d’entrée. malheureusement il va falloir les reboucher. 😕
I might use those existing door openings for pantries. Heavy equipment makes short work of removing materials. Wise choice.

Thank you ☺️ We definitely need to break it down into small chunks. One room at a time. It quickly becomes overwhelming otherwise.

@thechateauadventures Amazing he will certainly have the edge on language front when he goes to school. Thank you for replying, Gary
@@garyashdown5376 thanks Gary 😊 We really hope so 🤞🏼

No you aren't being rude. Tony nice face but trying to visualize your rooms, the layout is obscured at times. Lovely arch entry.

I’m not sure where I was pointing that camera 🫣 no one wants or needs to see my face that close up 😳 glad you like the arch! 😊
@@thechateauadventures sorry, I should of been more diplomatic with my suggestion. You are accomplishing vast amounts of work with a young family.
@@deborahblair3672 Please don’t worry 😊 thank you 🎉
❤️what you’re doing❣️
☺️🙏🏼 thank you
Slt, une arche à l'anglaise? style aplatie ? c'est très joli! ça va donner du cachet bravo
