I enjoy all these mental talks about fgc stuff. Could even apply this to other games like Smash and stuff, great content Romolla. P.S. I enjoy the voice too.
Gave me a lot to chew on here not only with my interactions with other players, but my own style of play. Thank you so much for the introspective aspect of fighting gameplay and discussion on id . I’m starting to understand how deep the rabbit hole goes..
My gameplan is to just play aggressively as possible then[RANDOMLY] give up my turn. It's funny how people panic mash when you suddenly stop attacking them.
I definitely appreciate the mentality of FGC tactics and breakdowns, it gives people who are new to the scene more perspective of how to approach future duels. For me personally, I use all to my disposal but also become unpredictable, even if your main is known to be predictable in special aspects
Damn I just came back to Season 2 after a break and you described exactly what’s happening to me.. everyone is so much better it’s actually crazy lol So in a sense I just have to learn these RPS situations with each character all over again, nice. The game feels great though with all that being said, so cool the counter on lights finally. I can’t wait for all the new K/CS dash cancel shenanigans too!
I think most FGC folks would agree that reactionary play can lead to some insanely cool comebacks. I recently started playing Street Fighter Zero 3 Mix (maining Ken with his awesomely nutty kicks) and for the most part I tend to play very aggressively and with sloppy execution, but I've been trying my best to restrain myself and to be more tactical with my options. When I adopted that mindset and began self-coaching, I've managed to improve to a noticable degree in just the span of a weekend! I'm still nowhere near being pro level, but damn do I love countering ppl with a chunky ass super, or parrying block strings like a true Chad x3
i love rps, but tbh this whole video left me a bit lost. i think its assuming the context of not being in a vacuum, because listening it my brain goes (ok, but they could just do x) wich is a cyclical. so, i think i need a video on conditioning :P
1. Have meter
2. Just do it
