Right! I mean come on. What’s the point in him having a lawyer. The lawyer should of just said “Your honor. Do whatever you want to do to him “. He serves no purpose. So instead of getting life in prison he was fighting for the minimum which is 30-40 years for each offense. So that’s two offenses. So 60-80 years. What’s the difference? Seriously. Come on.

Agree. I don't get the significance of "no prior criminal record". He went from that to butchering his parents, which is about as bad as it gets, along with harming children. Joel Guy Jr is a complete waste of oxygen.

Hi Lisa! I see what you mean. Although I am against death penalty, not because I am a "good" person, but because I belive only GOD has the right to do so, I always wonder, what we should think about people like him, like Watts, like Coleman, like Peterson. They all do NOT feel remorse. They cannot. They are born this way. It is a lack in their brains (amygdalla and prae-frontal cortex)They all have a kind of rational thinking and acting. (What is fast, costs no money, makes free from responsibility). Murder. Hiding the bodies. But the cannot feel. A NORMAL person could never dismember a body. Sometimes I think it is even senseless to hate them. It is only bad for ourselves, gives us early gray hair and wrinkles. It is terrible, it is sad and we have to protect the society so they NEVER EVER come out. That is all we can do. LG Holly

Cases like this really show the stark contrast of character that exists in families.
That sweet, intelligent, kind, and above all forgiving nephew spoke of the love his family has shared following these crimes. Even then he rightfully refused Mr. Guy Jr the justice of feeing that he has destroyed his family.
He seems to be someone who classically suffers from a personality disorder in which his blind spots are the size of Montana he truly was not intelligent.

I feel bad for that attorney having to stand by such a nasty person and try to make a case for him. I can't imagine having to defend someone like that. This country allows all persons to have representation, someone was bound to take the case. That attorney knows he's guilty, but yet still is obligated to play as many cards as he can in his defense or to lesson the punishment. I can't imagine what it would be like to sit in a room alone with that demon.
