The Case of Joel Guy Jr

- Joel Guy Jr is quite the guy. At Thanksgiving, 2016, the Guy family had a lovely time. However, after one failed to show to work, the family home would be investigated, and the worst scene imaginable found inside.

That was probably the most work he'd done in his entire life and he still left it undone.

Unable to complete tasks - check.
I was thinking the SAME thing

Stellar assessment!
The one thing he didn’t think through in his idiotic plot was that his mom literally wouldn’t be there to clean up his mess.
Absolutely true!

Why “literally?”

The boss called for a welfare check on day 1 of the mom not showing up for work. Seems like a great boss, that check also saved the poor dogs life. He would have died from overheating and thirst.
Agree 110% - I was thinking about the dog, too. And my heart breaks for the sisters who didn’t know that their half brother would savagely kill their parents right after a family Thanksgiving 💔

Like nobody gives an ef about a dog, really??
You know it’s going to be bad when a seasoned detective stops in his tracks in the bedroom and says “Oh my god.” I have a feeling that was one of the worst things he’s seen.
I don't think that's something you can ever get used to handling. I don't care how tough someone is, that's not something you can look at and shrug off. They're certainly a lot braver than me.

@@globalcitizen270I bet the Chandler Halderson case was pretty darn close. He cooked his mom's head in the fireplace. Maybe his dad's too. Can't remember. They never found all the body parts of his parents.
I think there’s a news article where that detective, Jeremy McCord says it was the worst thing he had ever seen not just in law enforcement, but in his entire life.
I believe his exact words during the trial was "I'll never get that smell out of head or dreams"
That cops bodycam footage was genuinely more suspenseful than any horror movie I've seen in years!

Lol facts! Lazy ass bastard spoiled brat.. Mike def hit the nail on the head when he said, Some Ppl R Just Born MONSTERS!
The dog howling/crying for his dead owners was also heartbreaking.
Gut wrenching!!!
For me that was the most heartbreaking thing. That poor dog traumatised and trapped, probably left to die of thirst or hunger while the people who loved him were being murdered and slaughtered.😢
As soon as I heard the dog I knew it wasn’t going to be good. Poor dog was crying so much.
I hate what happened to that couple, but the dog's howl was absolutely gut wrenching.
I hope that dog is in a good loving place. Wherever may that be. Poor baby had to witness all that hate and sadness. 😭
Also heartbreaking was the fact that Lisa Guys mother, literally died of a broken heart, the day after their burial! To find out your grandchild murdered your daughter would tip anybody over the edge surely? RIP Guys. 🙏❤💙🙏
The shock, horror and grief will reverberate throughout that family for years to come. My heart goes out to every survivor of that freak of a skin bag. Amazing that such exceptional people could have had that evil filth in their lives. His mother gave everything to help him succeed in life and this is how he repaid them
That's so sad
For everyone who worries about the dog:

@@differenttakethanmost FACTS! Very well said!
@@differenttakethanmost I have known a lot of people raised this way who didn't go on to murder, dismember... Boil... their mothers. Usually, they find some way to con the system and get welfare and/or disability. (No, I'm not saying everyone on welfare a/o disability is a loser, not by a long shot. Most people I have met who are on it are decent people with rough lives.) It feels a lot like you are blaming the victims. They messed up in raising this POG, but it isn't their fault that he turned into a *violent* malignant narcissist or that they were brutally murdered. The care they gave him should have been enough, the money was too much, and something in HIM was rotten. In this case, I am surprised that two people who didn't know how to care for their son but tried to were ended in such an awful way. We should be surprised. However, I'm not surprised they found who did it so easily. If there is a life policy on a kind person who is being taken advantage of, look at the next people I'm line, if there was money going somewhere and the plan was to stop, look at the receiver of the money. Almost always right there, it seems.

@TheMightyZim26 I'm fine with paying police officers more money if it means better training and mental health care. I'm very much against all that money going to purchasing MRAPs. Ditch the militarization process and qualified immunity and im all for more funding (also as a wishlist item, get rid of their unions). It's about where that money goes, not that they shouldn't have any.
To see the same vehicles we used in our combat outposts in deep Taliban territory rolling down a suburban street is not only completely unnecessary but heartbreaking.
@TheMightyZim26 you're right. The fact none of those corrupt officer's violating people's constitutional right to protest as well as their vows to protect them, it was heartbreaking none of them are going to be convicted on serious felony charges. There's something behind those eyes, it just isn't human.
dead in the googly eyes
Hollow eyes, its a thing. Ive heard enough people talk about someone having a crazy look in their eyes.
Oh god, I've seen it many times..
My dad's eyes would change when he would "snap" and go through his manic episodes (no medication, no alcohol, no drugs involved)
My niece is an extreme case of bipolar and her eyes are naturally a gorgeous light blue but they literally turn black when she gets angry.
I don't know if the pupils get huge for some reason or if the eye color itself changes but I've seen it change back also..
I've also seen it in many killer's eyes.. Ted Bundy (ironically, only in photos or videos from after he was caught) and a few others, I can't think of their names right now.
Oh yeah Paris Bennett is a perfect example!! Look at his photos prior to killing his sister.. looks like a sweet boy his entire childhood.. but right after, you can see the evil in his eyes and it has never left his eyes since.

His attorney sounds like he doesn't even believe whats coming out of his own mouth.
To be fair, he likely doesn’t, but it’s his job to protect his client. He likely knew his client wasn’t innocent but their job is to get their client off or as few years as possible.
That lawyer was like the crap I have to do to pay off my mortgage lol
Lawyers jobs are to lie and get murderers and criminals out of jail and free.
If the lawyer did a bad job, the defendant could get a mistrial and the whole thing would have a redo. Lawyers have to try to get their clients off. It's required.
The problem was that Guy Jr pleaded not guilty against his attorneys advice. Yet they still had to represent him and try to prove his innocence... with absolutely zero evidence. They were dead in the water before the trial ever began.

It was their last Thanksgiving together. They said he never would come out during the holidays he would just sit in his room. But this Thanksgiving he came out and was acting like a part of the family and even took the family photo.the photo photo that was found in the beginning of the video of all of them, the last one, the rare and possibly only one.. I'm sure he loves him too but can you imagine sitting there trying to fight this bastard off this child you brought in to your life and raised as your own. I'm sure one of his last thoughts before he died, before he took his last breath was that of his wife. Makes me sick and I hope he gets what he deserves while he's in prison. There's a lot of cruel men in prison but there's a lot of them that love their mothers I just don't see a lot of them taking too kindly to someone who's so brutally murdered their mother who did anything for her son.

I went to a Bible college for one & a half years out of state. After visiting parents at Christmas I waited till time to say goodbye to inform my dad I wasn’t going back, had no job lined up, no place to live and needed $1000 (early 80’s) to get place etc. The best thing that ever happened to me was when my dad asked me if I was sure about my decision (to which I said yes) then he said, “Good luck son you are on your own.” I was 19 and when I got back I had a place to stay for 2 weeks. I found a job that started my career and have never looked back. Raised 6 kids all grown now and used my fathers tough love approach with them and they are all doing well. You never know what little thing in life will make you who you become. I am not casting any shade toward the parents of this case at all. That all fall’s only on the son.
