Zac tends to play these silly funny characters, but he is one of the most terrifyingly insightful, clever and scarily manipulative players I have ever seen and it is amazing. Giving Zac a position of authority as Lapin is something I as a DM could never work around. He is too smart for me.
Lapin and Skip are two of the characters that, for me, show how good a player Zac really is. Lapin's planning and manipulation skills, and Skip's tactical know-how and efficiency at dispatching hostiles.
His character Pib was honestly a joyride for me to watch as someone who likes small or unassuming but clever archetypes, and Zac absolutely killed it lol [ALSO VERY HUGE SPOILER ALERT: The last episode when Pib took back all the stuff they sacrificed to the Baba Yaga had me smiling so hard- I was so busy being sad about the bittersweet stuff that happened and about what they sacrificed (Ylfa leaving the little girl behind, Gerard sacrificing his name and humanity, Pinnochio deciding to forever live in the wooden body that symbolized his suffering)... then fucking Zac Oyama came in and completely flipped the entire story with an 18 sleight of hand check to steal the magic paper with all of the stuff they sacrificed in it. I loved how it even correlated back to the nature of his stories of always being a little cat that always stole from someone more powerful than him. ("That's why I like you. You and me, in our story, we never learn anything and we never change." - Baba Yaga) really fed the reader's soul in me so thank you for that brennan and zac]
Lmfao reminds me of when my little brother made a custom setting campaign where they had just recently in the last few decades stopped openly lynching half-elves, so I made a half-elf of the noble background whose father was a human tyrant that strong-armed a wife out of the elf kingdom and had a spite baby to sully their bloodline. The son grew up to hate him and eventually murdered him, then became a Paladin of the Oath of Vengeance for the Raven Queen and used a mix of his church status and the infamy of his father's name to keep most people off his back.
Watching the supercut, I realized that in the span of those 6 episodes Lapin had only taken damage from 3 sources, jumping off of the wagon, Amethar’s rage aura, the three hits from Keradin’s mace, and then the final blow from Keradin that kills him. The fact that the only damage he has taken were all done in the service of helping others makes me even more sad about his death than I was before
Lapin and Theo's friendship being cut short is one of the biggest tragedies of my life. I wanted to write a 50k post canon epic that ended in their marriage from episode 1.
If I could change one roll/event from A Crown of Candy it would be to save Lapin in the church lol. I wanted to see so much more of where Zack was gonna go with that character because he was such an outlier from his other D20 characters lol. Compared to sweet boy Gorgug and Ricky the himbo, Lapin was such a big switch up that got cut down too early :(
Ok but Lapin WAS bold, by jumping in front of Liam he was bold and it was for the Rocks family that he didn’t even know if it was worth it to be bold for. Anyway I’m crying
i’ve watched this whole season several times and so many of these lines/scenes still make me either laugh out loud or cry uncontrollably. every death in this season rocks me to my core, but lapin’s work both before and long after death, his astute and brave choices, his quiet kindness....it makes him one of the greatest characters of all time, period.
I’m sorry but the chemistry Theo and Lapin had was so good, whatever way you interpret it. It’s like the other side of the extreme spectrum that Theo had with Gooey, and it’s so good. I miss their bickering and tag team side missions.
it was so ridiculously fun and emotionally fulfilling to follow Lapin's arc. I shared Theo's impatience and annoyance, Jet's distrust, but watched Lapin say and do everything right and gasped extremely loudly when other characters would misspeak. it was exhilarating to watch Lapin win the day and then just cried to watch him prove his loyalty in his last moments. It's wild to think about how this is all improv with all the foreshadowing, running themes, and very satisfying character arcs.
Maybe spoilers I just realized that when we first see the Sugarplum Fairy (SPF), shes very direct in talking to Lapin, but when Cumulous meets her and in all other scenes, she feigns full innocence, not convincingly because everyone knows shes powerful as hell. It's interesting after watching the whole season to see videos like these and see the little things Brennan did to conserve continuity. The SPF was direct with Lapin because he KNEW how powerful she was and was dealing with her for his whole life. But when anyone else meets her its scarily sweet.
A Crown Of Candy was such a cool switch I mean, Murph is usually the garbage gremlin, yaknow? Kugrat and rik, Zac is usually the strong character, mr March and gorgug This season they were so different from what they usually go for, and I think that’s a reason why it was so iconic (that and zac is just too powerful with a character with good wisdom and intelligence)
Just adding my fav moments here 1:03 like an old married couple 2:28 bamboozled 5:58 mending 6:38 sure, yes of course 8:31 old man leaping off of a wagon 8:50 for bulbia 9:24 👐 owe the king your life 9:49 That felt mean 10:48 shut up 12:54 never had a teacup 13:12 Liam 14:12 I don't feel comfortable 18:36 relax 20:46 message 24:21 aw this is fucked, Are you calling me a liar, Where is your bulb now 27:59 My King moments: 3:36 13:35 just a little touch 15:35 not a short guy 23:11 We're all going to die 7:55 11:43 a heavy dream 12:25 20:38
Lapin pulling religious rank on Grissini reminds me of the Tamuli series, when a corrupt guard captain was bribed to refuse a group of holy knights entry to their church, so one walked up, beheaded him, and then announced his actions were a mortal sin in the eyes of their God and proceeded to order the rest of the guards to kneel as he lead in a prayer for their captain's soul
That sounds sick lmao. Religious violence in real life is bad obv, but the one two of beheading someone and immediately praying for their soul is just too funny
Poor zac when his caracter died i felt so bad for him and the rest of the team as that episode zac had so much bad luck with rolls that episode absolutely heartbreaking 💔
It was a great season but *I guess spoiler* Liam was fun and the switch to war guy was great but I wish lapin had lived instead. He was definitely the best character.
I love how Lapin’s voice fades as the series gets progressively more and more serious, until he’s just Zac

Ok but Lapin WAS bold, by jumping in front of Liam he was bold and it was for the Rocks family that he didn’t even know if it was worth it to be bold for. Anyway I’m crying
"Where is your bulb now," will forever be iconic
Zac playing a high charisma/wisdom character is so damn powerful. He had to die (even if it makes me sad to this day) because he was just too good.
lapin was NUTS zac needs to play more characters like him bc i was super impressed at how tactfully he played in this session i loved it
Don't want to be controversial, but Lapin is the greatest D20 character in any season.
I see nothing controversial. Only truth
for his few eps
PC yes. Gilear is a great NPC
@@myeahonline ah the chosen one you mean
I feel like Lapin is what Raph wanted Prescott to be but he didn't know the game well enough and also rolled dogshit the whole time.
I would have loved to see the entirety of Lapin’s character arc over the later episodes.
The Delivery of “Bam-boooozled byyy... scarecrows” gets me every single time. Genius stuff.

Man, the two permanent deaths ive seen in dnd games have both been my favorite characters, Lapin and Mollymauk
They were to great of characters and thus had to be gotten rid of. The dice gods took Molly and Lapin for that reason.
@@lethalsandwhich and the dice gods recently decided that Molly should be allowed to come back.
@@georgewashington50 yup.
They were too powerful they couldn’t stay.
Fresh Cut Grass, Kugrash, and Vax want to say hi

the Lapin swoop is immortal
And realistic, in my experience.
This one is called me speedrunning emotion of Lapin Cadbury in less than an hour
Maybe spoilers

I stopped watching A Crown Of Candy for two days after Lapins death. I didn't cry, I was just miserable and numb. Wish he lived longer. 😔
Hoped you went back to it!
Then you really shouldn’t continue watching because you shit will be even more fucked up
He was such a cool character, man. I love the way Zac played him, he did so well.
Lapin is the actual best Game of Thrones character though.
I came to d20 from loving Murph and Emily, but Ally and Zac quickly became my faves.
And Lou and Siobhan are awesome too! Its perfect
Here to give Brennan his shoutout too
I loved Lapin. He was so different from Gorgug and Ricky
This supercut is exactly why Zac is my favourite DnD player
if I could bring any person real or fictional back from the dead I would bring back lapin, everyone else be damned
Honestly, I think I would bring back Jet over Lapin
17:27 damn I completely forgot about Keradin saying this when they first met... A lot of moments hit different

Lou just slowly losing his mind at lapains return is brilliant

I think you mean The Bulbs work lol
i can see the pain in brennans eyes
Just waiting for either this or D20’s Fantasy High to become animated series. So much fun, so much potential
i don't have the attention span to watch 2hr+ d&d videos so i've never watched a crown of candy... but i watched this entire video.
Zac is so hot. It had to be said.
How many Kings can a King Coup Coup? if a King Coup can Coup Kings
A King would coup but a king or a count, but a King's Count could coup a cornucopia of coups if a King's Count could coup kings.
him!
It was a great season but
*I guess spoiler*
Liam was fun and the switch to war guy was great but I wish lapin had lived instead. He was definitely the best character.
Goin back to my space
Lapin 🤝 Raphaniel
Cool high status old man characters
38:00 Lapin casts fly
Where's your bulb now?
Very random but does anyone know the song that starts at 10:04? I know I've heard it before and its driving me crazy
What was the name of his next character I can’t find his name anywhere
Cumulous Rocks!
ali is the worst
?
why??
Huh?
I love Ally as Liam.
When they played Kristin, I loved the first season a lot more than the second.
