this episode was so tense throughout and ended in such a victory, and the way that brennan was able to later take that victory and twist it to be the root of the party’s downfall in the next few episodes is both devastating and an example of expert storytelling
Zac's big day! My absolute favorite of all his baller lines this episode (so many) is when he slowly is like "I'm gonna go....now" when they start to do perception checks on their turns
the introduction of the 3 constitution saving throws for the watersteel daggers...iconic. i never thought a dnd mechanic could be so narratively significant
I love the continued dynamic throughout this campaign of House Rocks princesses thinking their bodyguard is lame and suddenly realizing he’s incredibly cool and talented 😂 it is the greatest
"Where is your bulb now?" After that, Brennan realized he made a mistake by allowing Zac to break typecast and play an intellectual character rather than a himbo.
"Tournament" sessions in D&D games have always felt kinda slow and tedious to me as both a DM and player and I think this is the first time I've seen one maintain momentum and intensity while still allowing everyone to have a part to play. Having all of the events going on in the same initiative creates such a fun interplay between the characters and how they play their turns out.
I was noticing Zac disassociating during all this banter and laughing that he just can't join in, but then I realized he wasn't even toning it out- he was watching Brennan taking notes on everything He's so good as a high int character and even when he isn't currently using his character he's studying every move his dm makes
I feel like Murph might be the worst at spotting villains. “Plumbeline’s good folk.” Also in episode 3, when they’re trying to figure out which adults they can trust after the first fight, Riz comes out swinging “guys, I think we can trust Goldenhorde!”
Thank you so much for uploading these! I've been meaning to rewatch ACOC but I haven't had the time so this is PERFECT! I love your compilations so much and it brings me such joy when you upload :) I hope you're having a lovely day!
I don’t think it’s in this compilation, I just have to comment this somewhere. When they’re talking about how the Carrot guy didn’t attack the king last round, Emily says “That’s two rounds ago” and Zac says “I had Deja Vu”, I also had the exact Deja Vu. All the wood in the center, all the words, I hadn’t even started watching these old Dimension 20s yet, my first series was Mentopolis.
Something I just realized, why tf didn’t Lou think to have Amathar reach for his neck? That’s the universal sign for choking/can’t breath/something is wrong with me. Bro just laid on the ground 😂
my god “where is your bulb now?” will always be one of the most top tier moments in d20

This is so well said

I love how Brennan breaks character just to compliment Lou's badass line.
This was the BIGGEST episode of triumph and hope in the whole series, hands-down.

Lapin is so amazing. Probably my favorite Dimension 20 character. It's a shame he wasn't around longer.
That stupid carrot man…
annabelle got me crushing on a piece of cheese
Strong, sorry strong, sorry strong, sorry, strong, sorry s

Never in my life did I anticipate the utter gay thirst trap that is Annabelle Cheddar, a sentient piece of cheese with thighs made by the Bulb itself.
I just love Zac’s little evil chuckle before he slaps Carroton.
Annabelle and Jet getting along makes me so happy

These channel's compilations for ACoC inspire me to revisit the campaign at the risk of emotionally wrecking myself the same way I initially did.
the end of the episode is so wild I forget about the pointing bit in the beginning, thank you so much for reminding me

Evil Brennan is the most attractive Brennan, that smile at 10:12 and again at 10:22. Rude. Just so rude!
Brennan was so evil this campaign
an incredible end to an incredible episode

9:35 Can we talk about that sobbing cheese in the background. It has no arms or legs. WTF?

My husband and I are watching ACoC right now. Its so epic! I love these highlights videos because I can relive the best moment and get a recap too lol

I mean, that wouldn’t be as visible from far off, right?
You know what’s also a sign of something being wrong? Collapsing.
Such a good episode!
Jet walks outside and says 200 things real big
“Is there a sword bitch around here anywhere” I know that isn’t what Lapin said but god I wish it were
I am not going to be okay over the course of this series lol
Glad to see new videos. Keep it up!
love these vids !!
Make 3 constitution saves 😭
