@arunvikrama : Pune and Mumbai were not rank turners. Rank turners were the one's against Australia in 2023, first test against England in Hyderabad. Batters have tackled such conditions in plenty. What they used to do was post 500+ totals in first innings so that the chase is minimal.
What India playing is not attacking cricket. It is very timid cricket in test format. Attack is used as an exhaust because you dont have the defence to even face one or two good balls. Test cricket is not about preventing the good bowls being bowled. It is about grinding them.

My question is this is how we used to give spin friendly pitches to England Australia ban etc in India and we used to win. At that time you didn’t feel wronged? Lesson to be learnt is , during those times we never thought foreign teams will have quality spinners. So easy walk for us. But remember always, just like how we can go to England and Aus and prove others wrong by playing good against fast bowling and bowl good fast bowling other teams can also do good spin when coming to India. Proved by NZ. And they may not even seem mighty on paper. At least from now on we ll give competitive pitches and play fairly in India. 2. You are indirectly blaming gambhir and saying rohit has done great job so far in tests. That’s very wrong. Rohit has never captained in overseas test other than Sa yet. He lost 1 and won 1. All he has done so far is captain India in India with spin friendly pitches. Second he himself is not a great test batsman. He was good in england in one series thats it. 1. If you say they gave wrong pitch that’s why India lost. My question is this is how we used to give spin friendly pitches to England Australia ban etc in India and we used to win. At that time you didn’t feel wronged? Lesson to be learnt is , during those times we never thought foreign teams will have quality spinners. So easy walk for us. But remember always, just like how we can go to England and Aus and prove others wrong by playing good against fast bowling and bowl good fast bowling other teams can also do good spin when coming to India. Proved by NZ. And they may not even seem mighty on paper. At least from now on we ll give competitive pitches and play fairly in India.
2. You are indirectly blaming gambhir and saying rohit has done great job so far in tests. That’s very wrong. Rohit has never captained in overseas test other than Sa yet. He lost 1 and won 1. All he has done so far is captain India in India with spin friendly pitches. Second he himself is not a great test batsman. He was good in england in one series thats it. Ideally someone like a rahane should have been captain. Anyways pointing fingers at gambhir bcos he is new and easy target will not solve problem. Rohit should be sacked. Just 1 t20wc is not good reason for tests. Remember how he became captain. Ganguly did politics and made VK resign. So it's not like Rohit did some wonders and became captain. He sort of plucked VK captaincy. VK the captain was/is always the best Test captain ever.
3. You guys are blaming coaching staff. Are they supposed to teach batting to players like Rohit VK Gill? If these players need constant coaching then we might as well give chances to Top players from ranji trophy right? So dont shamelessly blame Coaching staff if players play badly. And pdogg ur dear friend Ashwin has 500+ wickets. You expect a spin bowling coach for him? And btw Sarfaraz scored 150 wit this coaching staff only. Remember in India at least nowadays the captain has to say OK for coach to be selected. So dont just blame gambhir.
4. Pdogg said many players (he doesnt want to name ) need to retire. I hope you are reffering to Rohit VK AND ASHWIN.
5. Lastly Pdogg u may have stats worth 100GB on your computer. But that doesnt tell you for sure how one will perform.
