World REFRENCE- BRITANNICA- IT STATES-Your ancestors are the Tai culture from Southern China. As the Tai moved south into mainland Southeast Asia, they also encountered the Khmer of Cambodia. Between the 9th and the 13th century, Khmer rulers expanded their domains from their capital at Angkor, establishing an empire that, at its height under Jayavarman VII (reigned 1181-c. 1220), extended over approximately half of modern Thailand. Whereas Mon kingdoms were predominantly Buddhist in character, Khmer civilization-which found its supreme expression in the great temple complex at Angkor-was heavily influenced by Hindu ideas and practices. The Tai borrowed from the Khmer many elements of Indianized culture, including royal ceremonies, customs followed at the court, and especially the Indian epic Ramayana, which influenced not only literature but also classical dance. Even in modern Thai culture the legacy of the Indianized culture of Angkor is still evident.

Ok let's use some logic for a bit The word "Sbai" is a Khmer word that dates back to the beginning of the Khmer empire. In Thailand they call it "sabai" which is a "loan word", meaning that it is borrowed from the Khmer word. Actually, alot of Thai words are borrowed from Khmer words.
Now with this information, we can trace the roots of the Thai "sabai"
We know for a fact that the word "sbai" existed in the Khmer world since the beginning of the Khmer empire meaning that Khmer people do wear sbai. Why do I say Khmer people were sbai? If there is a word for the thing (in this case it's sbai), it means that it obviously existed.
so conclusion, the Thai "sabai" roots can be traced to the Khmer kingdom. We also know for a fact that the sbai and the chong kben was introduced to the khmer people since the begining of the khmer empire.
The reasons why you don't see apsara in angkor wat wearing sbai is because, the apsara represents fertility. the word "ap" from apsara means water in sanskrit.
And water is associated with fertility. Apsaras are women and women is also associated with fertility. The crowns that apsaras wear are also associated with fertility. Now how does this relate to apsaras always being carved topless? Well if you have smt in our skull called "brain", even though you don't have any, the female breast is associated with fertility🤯🤯.
Now, go to the corner of your room and start embarrassment and go cry to mommy. Your Mom probably knows 10x more history then you do.

    No, it's Traditional Thai dress!!!
Even their government announced last year a ban on wearing the Thai national dress to Angkor Wat. You can find it in the news. But the Khmers never listened. Fascinated by the beautiful Thai culture that they think is their own.
    The true fact!!!!
Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen of Thailand, designed together with Thai craftsmen and foreign craftsmen. There is a name and origin for every set. You can search history, see, there is definitely reference evidence.
Cambodia still dares to claim not ashamed at all.
I really wonder that if Thailand sues the International Court
    claim for damages.
How much money will it be? Cambodia will get scared and stop claiming behavior. Let's go back and see that before the famous Buphaphonniwat drama. How does your country dress? There's evidence in the movies. All TV shows and news from around the world in the past. Do you guys have any shame? accept some truth. You don't have to go back too far, just go back 10-30 years and you'll know who's lying.

      (just a word of advice).

I said Siam Ayutthaya was completely destroyed, not Siam Chonborei and Bangkok. Your Siam Ayutthaya was destroyed and your Siam royal family all killed by Burma. In the chaotic massacre which followed, starving inhabitants of the city were slaughtered on site, while every building was set alight. Your last Siam Ayutthaya King Uthumphon was captured, he was forced to live in prison, lived, died and buried near the Mandalay in Burma/Myanmar. During the Burmese ruling Siam, China thought it was a threatening to China. The Qing of China encouraged the Chinese to rebel against Burma. There was a Chinese Zheng Xin aka Taksin with the help of the Qing of China, he was able to kick the Burmese out of Siam and declared himself a new Siam King of Chonborei. He did not use his Chinese culture, but using Khmer culture instead because Khmer culture has already its Khmer deep root there before the existing of Thailand. Unfortunately, Taksin became a mental disorder King because he had too much debt to China that his own general Chakri had to beheaded him in front of Wichai Prasit fortress on Wednesday, April 10, 1782 to avoid of paying debt back to China. General Chakri declared himself a new Siam King of Bangkok since then and now. Although you may see or wear this kind of clothing in Cambodia. But most of the outfits in wedding , New Year's celebrations or various events do not necessarily mean that it is the national costume of Cambodia. Because Cambodians buy Thai dresses and clothes from Thailand, fascinated by Thai culture. which is popular in Cambodia nowadays But that does not mean that the Thai national costume can become the Cambodian national costume.
Please do not become a part of the Thai dress claim without your knowledge. And the outfit you're wearing is one of ชุดไทยพระราชนิยม in Queen Sirikit of Thailand's designed. Please change the topic before Thais come around and tour comments on you. Did you know? That even the former king of Cambodia posted last month confirming that "This is the Thai national costume. Not the national costume of Cambodia. It is Thai traditional dresses , modern designed by Queen Sirikit of Thailand". Today's Cambodian people like to wear Thai clothing to the point of forgetting their own culture.
Thai traditional dress have copyright but Cambodian never know and never respect it.
Most people around the world know this point but why you don't know?
If you think khmer have this style too it mean you don't know copyright you should design different but not the same ชุดไทยพระราชนิยม on this video you only change pattern not different design.

Even in the international beauty pageants, you guys presented the Thai traditional dress and proudly said it was the Cambodian dress. Instead of you taking that opportunity to present Cambodia to the world the beauty and uniqueness of what you have.. This time should be used to bring out the Cambodian identity and uniqueness of the Sampot and present it to the world. develop and continue to create popularity and true pride. The Lawo Kingdom was born before Angkor Wat. and the Lawo Kingdom in Thailand today The Lavo and Sukhothai kingdoms helped create Ayutthaya, the ancestor of Thailand. Thus, Siam was born before the uncultured savage Khmers and slaves of the Khmer-Tamil.

Sukhotei was built by Khmer people not by Thai from China. Thai are from China copied Khmer culture from Cambodia. Siam was killed by Burma nothing left in Ayutthaya. Khmer culture is everywhere in Thailand even Khmer living in Surin speak Khmer not Thai. Khmer numbers are all Thai currency and Thai people must learn Khmer numbers in schools.

@@aregarderplustard814 actually Thailand is not a whole chinese country. Cities like Lavo, phitsanulok and so on have older history than Khmer empire. Similar with Lanna and Patani. These people are not Chinese. They are Mon, Malay, Siamese, and so on. Now they are living in Thailand so they are Thai.

You Siams has nothing on khmers. We know who we are but you don't that why you go around the neighboring and try to claim their culture. Nobody cares anymore because everyone knows you are full of yourself when you only existed yesterday compared to the other kingdoms that exited before you.

If they want to argue, why is there over 2,000 khmer temples scattered over thailand which mirrors the Khmer culture today? Choosing to stay ignorant from extreme nationalist pride.

@@michaelonsouvanh5750 you can't wear these at Angkor Wat now, you'll get banned from taking photos by the Cambodian APSARA national authority because these are not traditional Angkorian/Cambodian fashions but are Thai fashions copied by Cambodians during Rattanakosin period. Made popular by again by Thai Lakorn tv dramas popular in Cambodia. APSARA national authority are beginning to take steps to educate Cambodians because many Cambodians are confused and don't know what's Khmer and what's Thai, and embarrassingly likes to claim Thai things as being copies when in reality it's the other way around.
