I play Magic with my cousin. One day, I was getting terrible draws in every game while we were testing a new Ixalan deck. I actually started losing my mind for the whole weekend. Then we decided to sleeve them. I don't know if that healed my mind or made it worse.
The best part is that this is one of the ONLY games in the history where Shahrazad was used as it was first intended, instead of a card used to extend games, annoy players and abuse time :v
Forget all of the madness in this game. Skip to 28:38 and watch Cam. He draws a card, pulls a face, nods and then plays the card. Its a forest. Such sasz
The funniest part is that at the beginning of the game when Serge reveals Wedge's Swords of Dungeons & Dragons, Wedge responds with "What have I ever done to you?" ... nothing yet... but you will XDDDDD ***cue to magic subgame where Serge has to judge a subgame with an extra player added in due to Better Than One and Sharazad**
...Do you have more hilariously OP banned cards to send them for future shenanigans? Because that seems like a sound investment after seeing this game.
I blame you. I BLAME YOOUUUUUUUUUUU Or rather, Cam and Serge blame you, the rest of us thank you for your service to the world. Assuming you're not just spreading lies on the Internet anyway. I give you that benefit.
Can I just say equipping a Sword of Dungeons and Dragons to a Regular Pony in a game of Magic: the Gathering is the most quintessentially Hasbro thing in existance?
That would probably require Wedge to get Shaharazad before Graham cast TCia1 and then somehow put from his hand into his library (I'm not sure whether he had a way to do that), because casting and activating Spike in the subgame would be extremely difficult as he'd either need some way to gain a LOT of black mana very quickly or else gain enough life to pay the Phyrexian mana costs. Paying 12 life is kinda hard when you start at 1 life. But playing a TCia1 subgame inside a Shaharazad subgame would be reasonable.
Effects always only apply to the game they happen in (as opposed to subgames, "outer" games", restarted games, or unrelated games), exceptions are specifically stated on the card. None of the subgame cards (Shaharazad, The Countdown is at One, Enter the Dungeon) have such clauses, though.
At draft weekend, I happened to draft a Spike. Another player in my pod brought their most powerful cards in case they drafted a Spike, including Power 9. That same player drafted a spy eye. In round 1, I was paired up against this player. You should know what happens from here. The player deals combat damage to me with his spy eye, draws my Spike, casts it, and gets his ancestral recall. I conceded.
This comment has the power to make a little part of every Magic player die! If you can feel joy at the concept of that card, there is something very wrong with you!
can we talk about how great the quality of the overlay and understandability of the board even with the crazy ness i want to see this on a pro tour coveradge
It's soooo great to see Wedge doing better. As much as the shitlords want to hate him, he is a genuinely fantastic person who makes some of the best mtg content. We all love you Wedge, hopefully you'll be back to consistent content soon.
I agree that it's great to see Wedge here and have such an awesome time. I would be a bit more cautious jumping to the conclusion that he is doing well. I hope it is, but people who suffer from anxiety and depression can often put up a remarkably strong front, while suffering terribly inside (especially when they are alone). I do hope he is doing better though and I wish him all the best.
Andrew Lazar STOP. Quit throwing this shite into every single MTG video lest you feed the /pol/acks trying to force this as an issue. _Everyone_ will be better off for it.
Nicol Bolas Wasn't referring to you about the /pol/ comment, but if you're out of the loop, /pol/ is trying to latch onto this whole debacle as another "crusade" for them to shitpost about. They've been shitting up /tg/ for almost a month now, and they've been trying to make stealth /pol/ threads for months beforehand under the flimsy disguise of discussing "political worldbuilding in campaigns." They're beginning to infest UnsleevedMedia's comment section, and as much as I don't like either side of this debacle, _NOBODY_ deserves that kind of torture.
I like how they are having their fun with it. Wedge could have just activated spike, get mana drain and won some turns earlier. But he had his fun, which was good to see.
2:43 That's funny, you attempted to draw humor from the juxtaposition between an adorable small thing and the trope of being the first to attack, but when it played out, it just made too much sense to even be a joke lol. Adorable kittens are always the ones to draw first blood. I recently got a kitten, she's earned herself the nickname of skinrender, for slashing through people's flesh in groupings of 3
1:05:40 I was really hoping Wedge would spike for a mana drain to counter the Time Out. It would've given him the mana on his second main phase, but still, he had UU up.
Real talk, Adorable Kitten unironically combos with Spike because you go T1 Kitten to gain life, T2 Spike for 4 life, T3-4 Pay 16 life to grab Time Vault and Voltaic Key and go infinite. Or just fetch the Jitte. I've had people scoop when I successfully fetched jitte.
I have watched this match over and over anytime I ever need a good laugh. This is by far the greatest match in the history of MTG. Let alone the freaking Shahrazad that was played... Game 2 - Cam: "I noticed an object sail towards my head, and I figured I'd just sit here." Lmfao!
40:04 this is magic. It's odd how many players decide they know what magic should be like better than the developers, usually the same players who dislike specific colors
GO Cameron! epic game. PS: Btw, I notice at 29:00 Paul says the Shaharazad is from a fan sent to LRR? Hence it's owned by LRR technically. Given the gamer card in unstable text says: you may play a card you "OWN" from outside the game. How did Wedge play it if he didn't own it? Did you guys miss this? Or does he own another copy of the card? Bit Confused lul.
I think my choice would've been a contraption deck with ravager and plating. :D :D And of course: Putting that sweet sweet mana drain in my collection in use! :D
What are the black and white sleeves? If I remember correctly it was a sketch of an artist that passed away that were made into a mat and sleeves but I would like to know if anyone knows where to purchase them.
If you cast Shaharazad, play Spike in the subgame, put Shaharazad into your hand, then end the game whichever way, does your Shaharazad go back into your library, and if so does that mean you can play infinite double-nested subgames until someone dies?
"Could you hand me the Shaharazad that's behind you?"
WEDGE NO
Cam's look of sheer disgust and betrayal sells it so hard :P
Also sharhazad is pronounced Shaw-ra-zad
"YOU MONSTER!" RFLMAO HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
WEDGE YES
@@christopherqsteigerwalt5105 But it's spelled S H A H R A Z A D. Not S H A R H A Z A D as you have
The ol' 12 life, 4 mana, 15 minute, burn you for 7.
Soorian Padmanabhan would that be considered, a *slow burn*
best comment. hit em' with the ol' Razzle dazzle
Greatest moment in the history of magic "Hand me that Shahrazade"
"So this is what a layer is." 24:55
Cam with the best Magic joke of all time, and it got totally passed by.
Can we talk about how the Multiheaded jelly fish was literally the Simic Slaw?
underrated comment
Can we talk about how that is literally hydroid Krasis on steroids?
9:44 for Shahrezad, 16:20 for RoseWedger, 19:32 for the casting of Shahrezad
“I want mark rosewater as my teammate” “good luck getting him” - me “holy shit he is actually here!!!!”
Watch and enjoy Cam's slow descent into madness. I never knew magic could do that to a person until this game!
have you ever watch him in the commander videos?
I don't remember it being this bad!
ikr
I play Magic with my cousin. One day, I was getting terrible draws in every game while we were testing a new Ixalan deck. I actually started losing my mind for the whole weekend.

Watch the war of the spark pre prerelease
This game must be preserved for future generations to marvel at.
The best part is that this is one of the ONLY games in the history where Shahrazad was used as it was first intended, instead of a card used to extend games, annoy players and abuse time :v

Talk about foreshadowing
"Did I play a land this turn?" - Mark Rosewater
"Shellephant's a 1/4" -- Canadian phrase meaning "I scoop"
#shellephantisa1/4
Sorry not sorry for giving LRR a Shahrazad XD
...Do you have more hilariously OP banned cards to send them for future shenanigans? Because that seems like a sound investment after seeing this game.
Not currently but i'm looking to pick something up to give them at PAX South if there are any good ideas!
I blame you. I BLAME YOOUUUUUUUUUUU
Or rather, Cam and Serge blame you, the rest of us thank you for your service to the world.
Assuming you're not just spreading lies on the Internet anyway. I give you that benefit.
Wizard's needs to put this on their home page.
mark rosewater the only person that can tell a judge how a card works.
Especially when it comes to a brand new Un-set
"If i win this, I expect an opera" is my eternal mood
You have not lived until you've cast a Better Than One into a Hive Mind. It's glorious
Can I just say equipping a Sword of Dungeons and Dragons to a Regular Pony in a game of Magic: the Gathering is the most quintessentially Hasbro thing in existance?
Oh boy, if only you knew back then what was coming in with Universes Beyond...
Paul, If you read this i need to you to know you did awesome work with the overlay!
Including not having Shahrazad show up.
This was some masterful calm judging from Serge considering how absolutely wild the situation was and that Mark Rosewater was one of the players lmao
I kind of wish Wedge and Graham played so we could have a chance at seeing a Shahrazad sub-game within a The Countdown is at One sub-game
Would the double damage effect only apply to the Shaharazad game or would it also apply to the main game?
Effects always only apply to the game they happen in (as opposed to subgames, "outer" games", restarted games, or unrelated games), exceptions are specifically stated on the card. None of the subgame cards (Shaharazad, The Countdown is at One, Enter the Dungeon) have such clauses, though.
TheRealWormbo Are... Are there cards with such clauses? *sweating profusely*

My sadistic side now want them to print a shaharazad with storm.
Please never bring this up again. PLEASE DON'T.
Woah, calm down Satan!
You Monster
This comment has the power to make a little part of every Magic player die! If you can feel joy at the concept of that card, there is something very wrong with you!
It costs 0 mana not to mention this ever again
I was wondering why this video was 1 hour 15 minutes. then I heard "could you pass me that shaharazade"
"good 5, have luck"
"... Wut?"
"Yes"
This is what I watch LRR for.
"Go." "Fair!"
can we talk about how great the quality of the overlay and understandability of the board even with the crazy ness i want to see this on a pro tour coveradge
"It's a Hydra Human Fish."
RAVNICA ALLEGIANCE CONFIRMED
I have never in my life seen anything as crazy as that shaharizad / two-headed giant / gain teammate thing
2 years later; re-watching this masterpiece again.
There will never be a set of magic games quite like this one. Magic is over, we've peaked, go home, that's it.
This was the most tech set of Magic: The Gathering that I have ever watched.
Bravo, LRR. Bravo
“Could you hand me that Shaharazad behind you?”
Famous quotes moments before disaster
Multi-headed Jellyfish card graphics were amazing! Nice work, Paul.
I know many more have said it, but this is the single best match of Magic I have ever seen, and I've been playing since OG Ravnica.
9:55 The moment Cam was lost to the Aether
"Shellefant is a 1/4... Shellefant is a 1/4." may be the saddest, yet funniest way to end a game ever. This madness was a thing of beauty.
Paul's scream at around 31:40 is just spectacular.
"The magic word is:"
Absolutely *savage* move from Cam there XD

I bet if you add some cash to his patron he might come back in a few months for a video.

Cameron went from getting trounced here to winning the entire PPR this year. What a character arc!
I like how they are having their fun with it. Wedge could have just activated spike, get mana drain and won some turns earlier. But he had his fun, which was good to see.
hans günter
Depends if he actually physically had a mana drain
1:10:47
"I find it kinda funny...I find it kinda sad..."
What an appropriate response for the mad world that allowed this game to be.
“Could you hand me the shaharazad behind you?”
Everyone else: WEDGE NO
Wedge: WEDGE YES
Wow I can't believe I watched the entire brutal murder of a poor Canadian boy.
9:44 legendary moment.
Thank you for helping me rewatch what might just be the most epic match of Unstable ever played.
the magic word........ is shahrazad
2:43 That's funny, you attempted to draw humor from the juxtaposition between an adorable small thing and the trope of being the first to attack, but when it played out, it just made too much sense to even be a joke lol. Adorable kittens are always the ones to draw first blood. I recently got a kitten, she's earned herself the nickname of skinrender, for slashing through people's flesh in groupings of 3
To this day, if you listen closely, Cameron can still be heard saying "Shellephant is a 1/4.."
Are we sure we aren't just watching a sketch for the next Friday Nights?
ARABIAN NIIIIIIIGHTS
NEATH ARABIAN MOOOOOOOOONS
This is how you break a man in both mind and spirit.
1:05:40 I was really hoping Wedge would spike for a mana drain to counter the Time Out. It would've given him the mana on his second main phase, but still, he had UU up.
Cam fought like a hero against the craziest game to be on camera. Incredible game.
I'm so glad this has been caught on video. Top notch entertainment, better than most movies I've seen.
LRR moonbase staff did not prepare properly for Shaharazad
To be fair, nobody can really prepare for Shaharazad, let alone in a Two-Headed Giant handicap game.
Real talk, Adorable Kitten unironically combos with Spike because you go T1 Kitten to gain life, T2 Spike for 4 life, T3-4 Pay 16 life to grab Time Vault and Voltaic Key and go infinite.
Or just fetch the Jitte. I've had people scoop when I successfully fetched jitte.

god damn unstable + shaharazad ? this is a funny mess
The "sub-" ("under") game is, ironically, being played *over* the main game.
That was amazing! I love all you guys. Great to see Wedge
This game is like time and space folded and twisted in the Magic gods' malicious plan to screw with Cam.
Only in Unstable is the highlight AN ENTIRE ROUND.
And epicness continues on 19:34
This is one of those games that goes down in the history books as one of the best games of all time
This is still the best game of magic ever played.
I'm so glad I have finally seen Shahrazad resolve.
43:50 that would be the wrong ruling, "If anything refers to your library, choose one of your libraries for it". You would only keep one library.
"Wedge Rosewater" I'm here for that fanfic.
I will note that one time, I played a two headed giant game cross format: each team had a Standard and a Modern deck.
But it's not as crazy bullshit.
That two-headed giant sub game was so much fun!
Wedge is such a fantastic guest! Love seeing him everywhere haha
This was the perfect game of magic for Unstable.
Every day we stray further from Richard Garfield's light.
I think he'd love this. Shahrazad is his favourite card, apparently.
What are you talking about this is clearly a round of good, honest Magic the way Richard Garfield intended it.
40:04 this is magic. It's odd how many players decide they know what magic should be like better than the developers, usually the same players who dislike specific colors
Now that was magic as its meant to be played
This might just be the greatest game of Magic ever played.
Imagine if Snapcaster Mage was involved...
You stop that
Mission Briefing as well xD
As well as Thousand Year Storm. Name the deck Jeskai's 1001 Games
You know what'd be better? Double Mnemonic Wall + Ghostly Flicker. INFINITE SHAHRAZADS.
Cameron stood his ground against a wedge rose water storm admirable
And that's when the day went from good to great
I call it ' Camerons slow descend into Madness'
GO Cameron! Wedge didn't search for a Plains off of selfie preservation and Cast spike into Shahrazad on turn 4, 0/10 disappointed
I basically never comment, but honestly this video is pure gold!
I'm still convinced Shaharazad was Wedge's retribution for the Sword of Dungeons & Dragons reveal 😂
What a coincidence that Cam plays the Defective Detective, while Wedge is playing "Snitches get Stitches".
I drafted Spike and backed it up with a playset of lingering souls :D. Fun magic
I think my choice would've been a contraption deck with ravager and plating. :D :D
And of course: Putting that sweet sweet mana drain in my collection in use! :D
I brought umezwa jitte for my card with spike
"For the record, I had a contraption."
Thank you, Cameron!
Game 1 is the best game of magic I have watched entertainment wise ever
What are the black and white sleeves? If I remember correctly it was a sketch of an artist that passed away that were made into a mat and sleeves but I would like to know if anyone knows where to purchase them.

wedge not spikeing for mana drain in response to time out FeelsBadMan
That Bob Ross behind Cam xD
Its so nice to see Wedge having a good time
I absolutely loved the histrionic personality of Lauder.
If you cast Shaharazad, play Spike in the subgame, put Shaharazad into your hand, then end the game whichever way, does your Shaharazad go back into your library, and if so does that mean you can play infinite double-nested subgames until someone dies?
What happened to the white balance around 23:33? The blue is red, green is dark blue and white is cyan?
oh thank gods, I really needed that laugh
This was awesome !
OMG!!!!!! That's amazing!!!!! That twist!!!!
