This song manages to capture the raw sound of teenage angst perfectly. I loved the show, but this tune brought me to near tears remembering the bygone days of me and my band touring every shithole dive bar that'd let us in the door. Getting paid nothing and barely making it to class the next day only to nearly flunk out because we were too tired from the night before. Thank you for sharing.
@@uncletrashero I'd argue punk is more of an energy than a genre these days. Dead Kennedy's and The Ramones are still the gold standard, but music always evolves. So long as it's angry and angsty it counts in my book and pays respects to the artists expressing themselves as passionately as the OGs.
Same, it's been my favorite song since I first heard it in game. Watching edgerunners renewed my interest for this song, I'm glad it got its chance to shine alongside stay at your house.
i really good question i have no answer for lol. im sure it falls somewhere in the very broad rock landscape but beyond that i cant get more specific. looking at the artists page on spotify doesnt help much either as he puts out everything from rap to dubstep lol
I'd say its akin to surfer rock but also kinda garage too. The vocals remind me of Wavves and Mike Kroll, specifcally songs like Nine Is God by wavves and Natural Disaster and 15 Minutes by Mike Kroll. Its cause of the chorus/distortion the vocals hace that make me say this. Another song that might scratch this itch is Friday Fire Fight off the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack too. The subgenre's definitely got a name but I am inclined to call this Surfer Garage Rock. I'm definitely on the lookout for more like this so if a playlist is eventually made I'll drop it here lol :)

Ps I wouldn't trade anything to live those days differently. Imperfectly golden.
it reminds me of a time when punk was still punk

Still shocked that, of all the groups this game could emulate, someone chose Idiot Pilot. Favorite song in the game
