    btw for clarification the bulldog and sidekick pistol in halo infinite are not the classic magnum and shotgun from previous halo games they are just new additions to the archetypes and 343 has stated that at some point in the future the magnum and classic shotgun will come back but they are just taking time to make sure they get it looking, sounding and feeling right before they chuck it into this fresh new sandbox

      If you want to get technical about it, most weapons across the series aren't the same as earlier counterparts in one way or another. Reach's AR for instance isn't even an MA5 series, the BR in Halo 4 and 5 is wholly new production model, and there are very little similarities across the many different M6 series Magnums.

      I still feel like the way the Bulldog works could just been the standard one. Think Bulldog fits more the role Mauler had in Halo 3

      @@voicingdragoon7 It's actually much more in line with how the Shotgun worked in CE. With its respectable effective range for 2-3 shot kills, high rate of fire, but very low one-hit kill potential.
      The Mauler was more of a "melee support" weapon. It's effective range was about as far away as the tip of your nose, and it was completely ineffective if you didn't follow up with a melee attack, or didn't have another weapon dual wielded to soften them up with first while you closed the gap.

      @@LordEmpyreal the sidekick and bulldog are both higher rate of fire but lower damage versions of the classic shotgun and pistol. Because of that, they could have still worked well in a sandbox with the new weapons and classic weapons, so I dont know why they didnt just keep the classic magnum and shotgun

      @@LiftYagami The spike grenade is amazing. It's just not a grenade.
      Sick it to walls, not people. Use it when making a tactical retreat to bait and even hide it. Got consistent kills on bots and players with it, just a few shots before while baiting them gets them in kill range.

    The magnum in Halo Infinite is not necessarily the magnum we all know and love. It's just a regular new handgun in Halo.

    Fun fact: due to increasing graphics of halo 4 ,343 had to compensate for almost every other thing ,level design , sound compression and quality , weapons sounds etc.

      Thankfully the Bulldog shotgun in infinite isn’t technically a successor. 343 could just add a more og shotgun in their 10 year halo plan.

    2 minutes in and I see two mistakes.
    1. You didn't show off the H2A MP Magnum's second melee animation.
    2. You showed the CEA Magnum's firing segment twice.

      In most halo 5 weapons he only showed one of the melee animations, in infinite he wasn't comparing the weapon change animation but the pick up one.
      There's also no tactical reload.

    Infinite seems to have reused a lot of animations from Halo 5. Not necessarily a bad thing because I actually like the animation work in Halo 5, especially on the weapons. Just something I noticed.

    The weapon firing sounds in Infinite so far are pretty decent, for the most part. The reloading sound effects, however, leave a bit to be desired. But seeing as this is from a technical preview, I'm optimistic that 343 will improve them in the meantime before launch.

    Infinite weapons sounds really good for the most part. The only weapons that sound bad imo are the needler and gravity hammer. Needler straight up sounds like a stock machine gun sound effect. Halo 4's was much better. Gravity hammer needs that "WOOOOOoooom!"

    Halo really has some of the least consistent art direction I've seen in any franchise. Sure, 1-3 it's not too bad but then you have Reach, CEA, H4, H2A, H5 and now Infinite all sporting their own or mixing art styles.

    There are different animations for empty vs tac reloads, and differences between weapon pick up and unholster animations.
    I feel like these should have been included.

    I just wish the plasma pistol wasn't using the 343 era Covenant design of "probably filled with tumors".
    Classic plasma pistol has always been a good design.

    Weapon sounds is something that I felt was a big part of Halo. Apart from the unique looks, the unique sounds of Halo guns made the game stand out from other shooters. I think that might be why I have a problem with them using actual existing guns for audio in Halo Infinite, they sound more real, but they're no longer unique, they sound just like any other generic shooter now.

      i am a gun amateur. here's my guess about what the UNSC guns would have been inspired:
      handguns: the M6D of Combat evolved has been clearly inspired by the Israeli Desert eagle, by its opening stile on the top slide, by its inox finish the Deagles are famous for , (even if some variant exist in grey or gold finish) and of course, its firepower. it's ironical how the M6D of CE was called simply a pistol while the much less powerful ones in other Halo games are called magnum, while Bungie should do the reverse. the M6D have also some resemblances to the Austrian Steyr M9 , by the form of its grip and no hammer on its back.
      the Halo 2 M6C looks more like a Walther P99 and its silenced variant in ODST kinda looks like a Maxim 9 with the barrel , a real american-made suppressed pistol. the other pistols : overly futurized in Halo 4, but the 5 one looks like a Caracal , while the Infinite Sidekick looks like a slightly visually different Caracal or a P99 once again, without the scope on the barrel bottom
      M7 Submachinegun: it looks like a thinner P90 with a magazine on its side , and the concept of caseless bullets came from the HK G11 , which was a rifle. looks like that Bungie was been inspired by Star-gate back in the 2000s. in Halo 5 , it really will looks like a P90 with the mag on the to gun, the design have also some details which reminds me of the APC9 (although it will be a coincidence) and the stock and barrel looks like a MP7
      MA5 assault rifles: fun fact, the Bungie weapon designer wanted a totally futurized rifle without any inspiration (except maybe for the rifle of the movie Aliens), but people finish to point out it finally looks like a belgian FN F2000, which will be a big coincidence. it is technically a battle rifle since it shoots 7.62mm NATO. some of its characteristics looks like they came from a HK G3 , like the 7.62mm and its handle seen in the first versions
      Battle rifles 55: apparently inspired by french Famas or Chinese QBZ 95, and unlike the MA5 , we can consider it like a true AR, it's the same ironical issue of naming than with the pistols
      shotguns: the M90 shotguns seen in the first games share the resemblances with real modern pump-shotguns made of polymer , with pistol grip and big polymer stock such as the R870 MCS , the Fabarm or the Benelli M3, the ones of Halo 4 & 5 are overly futurized, while he Bulldog of Halo Infinite looks like a SRM Arms with a pump.
      DMR: at the basis they're like variant of the BR55, but by looking closer , they looks like a Kel-tec RFB
      Snipers: they generally looks like a mix between Accuracy international rifles , such as the AS50 , and the Mechem TNW.
      grenades: generally looks like futurized M26 or M67 american military grades grenades, fun fact , they're not actually frag grenades since they detonate their explosive charge to kill the targets
      Saw Machinegun: clearly have been inspired by the Ultimax series of Singaporean machineguns
      Heavy machineguns: the ones seen mounted on Warthogs cars or stationary seems to have been based about the american GAU-19 or the M134 Dillon

      It’s halo 2 anniversary multiplayer. Campaign & multiplayer were made in separate engines.

      Because mcc made a new multiplayer for halo 2 anniversary using the halo 4 engine so some of the animations are different

      @@TheThouZands No... The halo 2 anniversary multiplayer has only one version and it's "like halo 4" both on pc and xbox. So there isn't multiplayer with the halo 2 anniversary campaign style. It seems like you're mistaken.

    the thing about having so many weapons in a game, is that it makes it so much harder to balance them.
    So mad respect to 343 for trying to add all the weapons. The Assault Rifle looks/plays amazingly in infinite

    H1 to H5 Assault rifles look the best. i like reach as much as the next but i dont get why they went back to that model for infinite. it just looks out of date and out of place compared to everything else

      Both ARs are actually different Gen. The Halo Reach Assault Rifle is a MA37 while the Halo Infinite Assault Rifle is a MA40. They're lore-based weapons so they're not like the Halo 5 AR. Just like the BR55 from Halo 2 where it now has a BR75 in Halo Infinite.
      However I did have a theory about why they went back into utilizing older/newer models.
      Ever since the created conflict, when the Guardian disabled Earth's defenses, it seemed to make sense to go back to weapons that didn't utilize technology that was vulnerable to Guardians, especially when _most_ of the UNSC's weaponry and vehicles were futuristically powered.
      But for other human colonies that weren't affected by the Guardians, I'd guess the UNSC is now limited to their pre-human/covenant war weaponry. It hasn't been established WHEN the MA40 Assault Rifle was created, but I'm hoping for it to be at least between 2556 - 25560, then that will give you an answer on why they changed it to a similar model to Reach's.

      Exactly. The reach model was made to look like it does to showcase an older version of the AR. So it doesn't make sense why it's back in Infinite.

    The BR and sniper in Infinite sound so beefy and perfect. Also, it's interesting how Bungie recycled most of the sounds so while they do kinda sound weak and outdated by today's standards, we are so used to them that they are still classics.
    P.S. A lot of 5's looks and sounds are abominations.

      @@argo9721 A few of them are fine, but overall the weapon sounds are either weak or uninspired. Better than Halo 4’s weapons sounds for sure though. The sound design of Halo 5 that I’d say was great is all the little stuff. Headshot “clicking” sound, ambient noise on maps, stuff like that is what it did well. Not the guns

    The assault rifle missed the different sound at the end of the ammo. Halo 5 made it well. Hope they update it before release

    Not showing the vanilla H5 launcher is a sin, IMO. That launcher is actually pretty cool, and the SPNKR variant came out a few years later. It makes more sense from a soldier's perspective to hold a tube rather than this huge contraption filled with tons of moving parts and that makes a ton of noise.
