Nice to hear a fellow Australian review and talk about these amazing glasses. Also great that you spoke about the Be My Eyes integration. Having no vision at all, it is great to see this integration happen. I’m hoping in the future we may also get some ACR features That will help when trying to read mail and menus etc.
Mine are charging at the moment, but they should already be able to read out what's in front of you if you ask! As long as the visual AI features are enabled it shouldn't have any issues with it.
So they are a camera. And they can do the same thing, my phone can. But it requires my phone if I want to do anything else than asking AI ... which my phone can do, too.
Just bought mine in the UK and it doesn't do the look and tell. It says its a voice only assistant and that feature isn't available in my region. How do we get round this?
When it was US only, I would just connect to a US VPN and relaunch Meta View a couple of times before it activated. After that, you can disconnect from the VPN and it should stay activated for a few months.
@@probablyhadesThis rocks! I bought these for an upcoming trip to Italy. Because I’m already in the US, these should work OK for using them to tell me about I see there? I wanted them to help me translate what I see as well as hopefully real time voice translation.
@@fpartidafpartida They should! I'm assuming the workaround with using a VPN is basically how it would work if you were travelling. Provided you're not travelling for over a few months there shouldn't be any issues,
I'm getting sick of them at this point, I'm 2 months in, to start look and see was working fine. Then one day I removed from the case and boom meta ai full stop stopped working, I spent 3 days going back and forwards with meta and one morning again I wake and now all services are running.. look and see everything.. I'm in the uk never used a proxy but today I get a notification from meta that look and see has again been removed.. for £379 it's starting to get boring 😴
Meta can be a bit funny with feature rollouts, but depending on your region all of the glasses branded with Meta Ray-Ban should get them shortly. If you’ve got a pair of Ray-Ban Stories, some of them may not be available.
Those are most of the core features, along with the AI integration. This video and the first review I made in January should give a pretty decent overview of absolutely everything.
When you ask Meta AI a question (such as what's the weather?) how long does it typically take to answer you? I'm so used to Alexa answering almost instantly that the 3-4 seconds it takes to respond for me on the Meta Ray Ban seems long
@@maurolinoignacio3615 It seems to be normal, considering it's essentially just an LLM in the background, unlike Alexa which would have a hardcoded response for the weather as an example.
It depends heavily on your usage. I went more in detail in my last review, but they’ll easily last a good work day if they’re just on and taking a photo or video occasionally. If you’re consistently playing media over Bluetooth or taking a lot of photos, they usually last around 3 hours from my experiences
Like some other commenters said, it absolutely can? Although, something like that where you'll be making constant requests *might* be faster with a phone and ChatGPT or even Meta AI in one of their apps.
You are nothing if not enthusiastic. Does the battery drain stop when you take the glasses off or do you have to manually turn the glasses off or put them in the case? The reason I ask is I would expect I would use these only when they’re on using them a sunglassesbut if I take them off, I don’t want them draining the battery. Have any idea about this firmware upgrade?
Hard not to be when you love what you do! The glasses have sensors in the temples that detect when you take them off your head (similar to the proximity sensors on non-Pro AirPods), and they go into a standby mode when you aren't actively wearing them. If they're in the case for an extended period of time, they go into a deeper standby mode, which takes about 30 seconds for them to turn back on and be ready for use. The battery drains at a very, very slow rate when you aren't wearing them.
the concept of keeping young kids off social platforms is great, but it’s completely unenforceable. we’re going to need to give our full IDs to every platform caught under the ban and kids will just use their parents ID so there’s really no change at all 🫤
Since this review I've heard about and tried some of the other colours that aren't as dark as the lenses in the transparent versions, and I agree that some of them could definitely be darker! If you've gotten them recently through Meta's site, you should be able to return or exchange them for another pair. You might have a better time with standard polarised lenses instead!

I will buy a pair of these when my bank account stops being empty I swear
The craziest part is there the same price as regular glasses and your vision insurance will pay a percentage for them
Mine was 200 gang
@@edwonyoungblood12 wait 200? Danggg mine was so expensive lol
I bought two pairs this week for 359 😢 😅 @@vibesxryan

Getting mine on Monday. Cannot wait. Awesome video.
i bought a second pair and cracked an arm 1.5 weeks into owning, hoping the 30 day warrenty covers

Nicely done review! good to see an Aussie for a change
Are there nose pads for better fit and hook add on
There aren’t any official add-ons, but it looks like you’re able to get third-party nose pads from other companies.
Fram which webst can i buy it ? Because could Not find it in Ray ban Webseite
Try meta.com and other Ray-Ban partnered stores in your area. If you can't find them there, they may not be available in your region.
What are the new transition lenses like? Do they work when driving etc?
Still don’t work through a car windshield unfortunately, but they get much darker in direct sunlight and in a much faster amount of time.
@@probablyhades Oh I didn't know that. Was about to pull the trigger but if transitions don't work through car glass then that defeats the purpose.
Can you not use the app ai at all and just use it for Siri, pausing and playing music, and taking videos?
Yep, you can turn off Meta AI entirely.
Great review
Are your black frame Wayfarer’s the standard size or XL?
Both of my frames are the standard fit.
I have the way farer like your first glasses. Do you think i will be able to use the new feature soon?

Wait until he discovers real smart glasses.
Which ones are you referencing here, something like the Even Realities G1? I'd love to check them out!
What is the name of the transparent smart glasses? I don't see it on the website
They were a limited edition unfortunately, and aren’t available anymore unless you visit the LA retail location before the end of the year.
@probablyhades thank u damn I want those glasses.
How did you get the preview of the picture taken by rayban meta glasses on your watch? It doesn’t work for me.
try updating the Meta View app and your glasses, there’s a setting under Notifications in the app for photo previews on mine
recently got mine and theyre amazing
so it the glasses just about camera, video, music, voice messages is that all or? considering in buying one or not

Depends on network conditions, but usually only a few seconds and occasionally almost immediately.

Nice, you’ll love them!
Did I hear you say that every Thursday the Meta store stocks 10 of the transparent frames?
Yep, up until the store closes in December IIRC.
@probablyhades dang! I wish they restocked that frame online. I don't live in L.A.
@ Yeah, it’s a shame. Just checked eBay prices too and they’re up around $1500AUD 😬

maybe try the ray-ban site instead of meta, it wasn’t available through meta until recently in australia but i could get them straight from ray-ban
