I put 80mm old man oil internal shocks on. It's perfect. I still haven't flown it yet. I just replaced the Horn on the elevator because its a brittle plastic yesterday with Nylon.
Turbo08500 Would you please tell me how you mounted the shocks on the Draco? I’d like to replace mine but the old man oil shocks don’t have forks on the ends, so they will not mount on the draco gear. How did you do it? Maybe I purchased the wrong 89mm shocks, can’t find any with forked ends. Thanks
I used standard shock gear with my reinforcement plates I sell. The plates are the magic. To be honest if you want shocks put some silicon fuel tubing over the existing shock shafts.
It is a great job, but it is all articulated and they are only patches, I have one and the same thing happened to me and to avoid only rivets I made the whole piece of aluminum and I never had any problem of breaking or bending.
I know this video is quite a few months old, but I'm wondering if the factory has come up with any upgraded parts. In other words, is there a Gen2 Draco being sold currently?

This plane cost 600 beans and THIS is what you get? let me guess FOAM is getting expensive LOL!!! Demand more fellas....... this is my biggest issue with foam planes....they are pumping out a lot of junk and the prices are more then some screaming nice balsa Arf kits......
In my opinion I think you get a lot for the money. I just understand why there always seems to be just one thing that holds a model back from being perfect. That one thing drags down it’s reputation.
@@JustPlaneCrazy Foam in general is cheap thats why they use it for packing. I find it hard to find value in packing foam after throwing it away my whole life LOL
Draco landing gear really sucks, cheap plastic, not carbon, toy car shocks. tailwheel attached by flimsy plastic, all much too complicated. Wing attachment impossible without 2 people, or redesigning attachments (see thingiverse). The whole thing a triumph of hype and expectation over reality. I am so disappointed that I was taken in. It is definitely not a rough ground plane, and has so many flimsy little scale details that it is almost impossible to even pick it up without damaging it. No I havent crashed it yet, but when I do it will be on purpose!

What wheels are you using to put back on the plane?
I put the bush dubro 5.5s. They actually feel pretty good but change the cg ALOT
Maybe little lead in the receiver compartment would probably help.
