    Hi friends. This video was long overdue, and I'm happy to finally post it. There are more ways to reach Pattaya from DMK, but none as efficient as this one. Please share your views.

      Hi. These are my reasons for recommending Ekkamai instead of Mo Chit: The last time I checked, the frequency of Pattaya bus from Mo Chit was once in two hours. I have taken that bus a couple of times, but every time my wait time at Mo Chit was too long. From Ekkamai, officially the buses go every hour, but during busy time, they add extra services. That makes the trip to Pattaya from Ekkamai quicker compared to Mo Chit. Another reason for suggesting Ekkamai is that I want new tourists coming to Thailand to know about Ekkamai Bus Station because it is attached to a Skytrain station. When someone has to come back from Pattaya to Bangkok, Ekkamai is a smarter choice. I have seen tourists coming to Bangkok from Pattaya buying a ticket to Mo Chit, and then they end up regretting it. Going from Mo Chit to Bangkok city is a pain unless someone is familiar with everything or takes a taxi all the way. Mo Chit Bus Station is also a scam terminal. Minivan operators at Mo Chit always try to misguide tourists, telling them that there is no bus to Pattaya, so they can take a van only. Later, that scam van drops tourists in some obscure place on the Sukhumvit highway near Pattaya. From there, the tourists have to again take a taxi to their hotel. There is another reason. The Bus No. A1 drops passengers at a particular place on Mo Chit terminal ground, from where one has to walk to the terminal building. The passenger has to know the way to the terminal building. And if they don't know, asking around is difficult because of the language problem. Personally, I have never had a happy travel experience at Mo Chit Bus Station. I am a frequent traveler to Thailand, and have suggested this route to Pattaya keeping all the factors in mind.

    Without going to Ekamai, from A1 bus you can get down to MO-CHIT Busstation, from thair directly bus availabe as same as Ekamai

      Hi. Yes, there is a bus from Mochit-2 Bus Terminal. Before this video became popular, the bus company was operating buses from Mochit every two hours. Recently they have changed timings to 90 minutes gap, and added some services in the morning. However, it is still good for a first timer to Thailand to know about Ekkamai Bus Terminal, particularly when traveling back from Pattaya to Bangkok city. Ekkamai Bus Terminal is also easier to navigate. On top of that, the bus company operates extra unscheduled bus trips from Ekkamai resulting in a shorter wait time compared to Mochit.

      Hi. What is the frequency of buses to Pattaya from Mo Chit? Is it every hour or is it every two hours? And do they operate additional services when the demand is more?

    • @rakeshanand8609
      @rakeshanand8609 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@desiyatri well it's after every hour time same like Ekkamai bus station.

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually I have travelled from Mo Chit to Pattaya a couple of times. Both the times, the next available bus was going after more than two hours. I had to wait a long time. But whenever I am going via Ekkamai, I am usually getting the next bus in less than an hour. They always add extra services when demand is more. Now, personally I prefer Ekkamai. Other than that, the A1 bus dropped me at a particular place on Mo Chit terminal ground from where, I would have to know the way to the Pattaya bus ticket counter. Due to the language problem, asking other people there is difficult. For a new person, it is easier to walk from Ekkamai BTS station to Ekkamai bus terminal. Also, for a first timer, it is important to know about Ekkamai bus terminal because it is attached to a BTS station. That knowledge helps when someone has to come back from Pattaya to Bangkok. About the cost and time, the ticket price from Ekkamai is less by a few Baht. And it saves a lot of time compared to Mo Chit. The next time you have to travel from DMK to Pattaya, try to go via Ekkamai. You will know the difference. Actually I am waiting for a regular bus service to start from DMK itself to Pattaya, similar to BKK. I hope someone tells me about that.

      Hi. Yes, I know that shared van from Central Festival. They operate from 9.30 AM to 7.00 PM, and used to cost 135 Baht. Don't know the current price. The problem with the shared vans is the luggage. If you are carrying a small bag which you can keep in your lap, then those vans are ok. Otherwise, if you have a big bag, they ask you to buy an extra ticket for the bag. But the Klook shuttle bus is news to me. I will find out about that. Thank you for this really useful information.

      @lilachu7654 Both buses and minivans are available from the Mochit 2 Bus Station. However, the minivan is a bad idea because it drops people in Pattaya only on Sukhumvit Highway, and does not go into the city. The bus service to Pattaya from Mochit-2 Bus Station has longer wait times, and the last bus leaves at 6.00 PM.

      1. Medical or travel insurance is not compulsory. If you want it, you can take it. It is your decision.
      2. About Air tickets, you may like to search on easemytrip and skyscanner also. You may find better deals. On easemytrip, try coupon code EASEFLY, you may get a good discount.
      3. There is no requirement of vaccine or booster dose for Thailand. But when coming back to India, they may ask your vaccine status. Double dose is enough. Carry your vaccination certificate print.
      4. About money to be carried to Thailand, you need 10,000 Baht per person or 20,000 Baht per family. Visa on arrival fee is to be carried extra. For 2 persons, better carry at least 25,000 Baht. You should have confirmed return air tickets, and confirmed hotel bookings.

    Take a taxi. this is not worth the hassle unless you are on a very tight budget. taxi's are so cheap in Thailand. Often will collect you from inside the terminal too. I've taken 4 in the 4 weeks in Thailand recently. Good video regardless!

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @MrRawUK Thank you for sharing. My last taxi experience at DMK was bad. I booked on Bolt, and to go to Pattaya, it showed a price of 1400 Baht. Then the taxi driver sent a message and demanded 2000 Baht for the same ride, and asked me to cancel the ride if I did not want to pay 2000. I think if you are at DMK in the morning hours, it is easy to get a cab at a good price. But in the evening, it all becomes more expensive.

      Hi. I will share the info I could find online. In the A1 bus from DMK to Mochit, the adult ticket price is 30 Baht, and the adult ticket price from Ekkamai to Pattaya is 131 Baht. About child tickets, it is mentioned somewhere in the BKK-PAT bus company website that for a small child, who can sit in your lap, a ticket is not required. And if you need a seat for the child, then a full ticket has to be purchased. I am not sure of this info. In the A1 bus, children under 3 years can travel free, and older than 3 years will need a ticket. It is possible that A1 bus ticket will be discounted by 50% for children aged 3 to 12 years, but again, not sure of the info.

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Edwin. Before my video became popular, those buses from Mochit used to depart once every two hours. Now they have changed the timings because I was sending people to Ekkamai. Anyway, for a first-time visitor on a Bangkok/Pattaya trip, it helps to know Ekkamai, particularly when they have to come back from Pattaya to Bangkok. Ekkamai bus station is attached to Skytrain, and is the most convenient. It is also easy to navigate. As for suggesting Mochit, I will review the scheduled bus timings in December 2023 and make a new video at that time.

If you want to be sure, choose any LK group hotel. Right now, I am considering Pattaya Blue Sky hotel for my next trip. Looks good from the reviews. But usually, I stay at Red Planet. That one is basic but ok.

    u have bus station at mo chit to pattaya directly and cost effective also 119 baht, am i rite?

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi. The Mo Chit I show in this video is the Mo Chit BTS station. Mo Chit Bus Terminal, also known as Northern Bus Terminal, is a different place. The A1 bus, that drops people at Mo Chit BTS, then goes onwards to Mo Chit Bus Terminal. From that bus terminal, buses are available for Pattaya, but they depart every two hours, and cost 141 Baht. From Ekkamai, buses are available every hour. So, in my own personal experience, I have found going to Ekkamai more convenient. That is the reason I suggest Ekkamai for everyone. The other reason for suggesting Ekkamai is, for the tourists who are coming back from Pattaya to Bangkok, coming to Ekkamai is better because it is connected to a BTS station. My objective is to familiarize people with the Ekkamai bus terminal. In my first comment on this video, I wrote that there are other ways to travel to Pattaya from DMK. I just suggested the one that is the most convenient.

    Can I travel from DMK to BKK International airport to catch the Pattaya bus with my friend?

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Yes, I have seen a shared van service from DMK to BKK. I used it before the pandemic but hopefully it is still operating. Exit from gate no. 1 or 2, and turn right towards the parking. At the opposite end of the parking you should see the van boarding point. They used to charge 50 Baht, and an extra ticket for a big bag. Perhaps the price has changed now. The van used to take me to BKK in one hour. Just be careful to get down at the ground level of BKK. Ask another passenger on the van for guidance if you don't know where to get down.

    • @desiyatri

      @hassanalihusseini1717 The shuttle service between DMK and BKK is for transit passengers only. You need an air ticket for a flight taking off from the other airport. If you are going from DMK to BKK to catch the Pattaya bus, then the shuttle cannot be used.

      @TravelShorts7 Hi. It will be risky because all subsequent buses from Ekkamai may be sold out by the time you get there. If possible, try to book a ticket in advance. Search on Google for AirportPattayaBus and you may find the official company website for online bookings. Again, you will be taking the risk of delayed arrival of your flight. This is a tough one, friend.

    French proverb, why make it simple when you can make it complicated, you can take the bus to Pattaya at Mot Chit terminal bus station, why complicate life with the Sky train to Ekkamai?

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Here's why. Last time I checked, the bus to Pattaya from Mo Chit 2 goes once every two hours. Whereas, from Ekkamai, it goes every hour. I have tried traveling from Mo Chit 2, but every time it took longer than expected. My wait time at Mo Chit was too long. Suppose I reach Mo Chit 2 at 6.30 AM, and find that the 7.30 bus to Pattaya is sold out, the next bus I get will leave at 9.30. The other reason for suggesting Ekkamai is to familiarize tourists with Ekkamai bus terminal. That bus terminal is attached to a BTS station, and while returning from Pattaya, is way more convenient compared to Mo Chit 2.

    • @desiyatri
      @desiyatri  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @pedrotangtang8420 The Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya bus is not suitable for someone who is looking to travel from Don Mueang to Pattaya because going from Don Mueang to Suvarnabhumi is another hassle. About the choice between Mo Chit and Ekkamai, my video is meant for someone who is coming to Bangkok for the first time, and needs to go to Pattaya. I have personally traveled from Mo Chit to Pattaya, and at that time the bus timings were like one bus in two hours. Recently, after my video became popular, the bus company has introduced more buses in the morning from Mo Chit and reduced service during morning hours from Ekkamai. Still, during the day, many bus timings from Mo Chit are after a 90-minute gap. From Ekkamai, there is a bus every hour. And more than that, Ekkamai terminal is easy to navigate even for first timers. Mo Chit, on the other hand, is confusing. I believe that first-time visitors to Bangkok and Pattaya should know about Ekkamai terminal, and that is why I have suggested going via that route.

      @desiyatri  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @dhawalbarot3968 It is an estimate only, but I think it should be 160 Baht including airport surcharge. There are two options there, one on the normal road, and one on the toll road. If you opt for the toll road, the cost will increase, but you will avoid traffic. About the bus service from Mochit 2 to Pattaya, according to the company website, they have services every hour between 5 am and 6 pm. I can't post links here, but you can Google for "Mochit 2 to Pattaya bus schedule." In practice, however, some of those hourly services don't operate. The schedule posted at the booking counter at Mochit 2 is sometimes different from what they show on the website.

From Suvarnabhumi, bus to Pattaya is available. But this route takes too long. A lot of time gets wasted waiting for both the van and the bus. The route suggested in the video is better.
