Just had one from Dr. Thomas Salzer in navasota texas. My results are just about the same but I didn't have a drain tube.9 days post surgery and I'm doin good
Any treatment for relief of post-surgey inability to open jaw due to inner scar tissue from tumor, nerve and parotid gland removal, besides more surgery?
If your surgery went well, I would say to expect about 4-6 months before your facial muscles react evenly and sensation in your cheek starts to normalize. I had some slight stretching / movement of the facial nerve during surgery so my whole ear and corner of my cheek around my jawline were numb for a few months. My eyebrow, eyelid strength and corner of my mouth didn't respond quite as powerfully as on the other side either. However as the nerve has recovered, I'm now basically back to normal except for the permanently numb earlobe on I the side of the operation, as expected. My ear is also less rigid than the ear on the unaffected side, and folds forward more easily (like when I'm wearing a mask), likely due to the change in tension under the skin with how all the skin, cartilage and sinew was bound together more tightly before the surgery. But if that's the only permanent change, I can deal with that. Hopefully you're now nicely recovered, I thought I'd post my experience for other people researching this operation before they have it. 👍
@@ChristopherWoodshi there I had my surgery on March 29,2024 it’s been about two weeks everything went well but I got paralysis on my right side of the face ! My eye wasn’t blinking now it’s improving my eyebrow won’t go up yet and my mouth it’s improving a little too ! I’m doing some face exercises ! By your experience how long do you think I can be fully recovered? It has been hard on me ! Thank you ! God bless you !
@@ChristopherWoodsis there any way you can share with me your email ? I do have some questions and concerns about my paratoid surgery thank you again !
I had mine 6 years ago. Now i am abit worried becoz I can feel pain in the area and it feels like the operated area was hardened . Every time i eat, the sweats are visible on the area. Is this normal?
I'm also suffering from parotid tumor and I'm from India but I didn't get any expertise in parotid surgeon here can you tell me how much fees for outsider?
Gotta get the same surgery. I’m scared. But will go through with it anyway. Thank you and am glad you recovered well.
My surgery was done on 25 November 2020. I'm on recovery process.. THERE is numbness on surgery side....But It's improving

I was just diagnosed with a parotid cyst through an incidental finding. How did you find out that you had it?

My surgeon warned me about potential sweats in the area when you eat. It is normal and a long term side effect of the procedure.
