Thanks again for asking my question Greg, and thanks to Carrie and Gabe for answering! Avowed is a Top 5 most anticipated game for me and this developer insight is part of the reason!
I hope it's good. I could use a short and tight RPG experience. I've been chipping away at Dragon's Dogma 2 and Baldur's Gate 3 when I have time, but those are incredibly meaty experiences. I want something I can get in and out pretty quickly for any given play session.
@@darksteel78Yeah, I’m excited that it should be a bit lighter than those games, like an Outer Worlds, but in a darker Fantasy/Magic setting. Obsidian delivers I think this will be good.
I know I’m probably the millionth person to say this but I love the new format for everything. Keeps me much more engaged and even better content than before. I’d say it’s about time I sub to that Patreon 😏
Outlaws is coming out in August. Avowed is aiming for holiday time, their internally leaked date was November 12. Plenty of time between those two, you’ll have to be worry about AC shadows.
What I would give for Parris to have been Zavala's voice in the final shape and going forward. Very few people would respect the content the way he would.
The talk about the last boss in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC yep that boss is ridiculous. Took me about 18 tries with other people online and legit I got lucky with the final hit. I just started new game plus. So I look forward to getting back into the dlc area.
Obsidian games with a serious tone never promo well with trailers . You have to sit down and play them and then you “get it”. Never not liked an Obsidian game and Avowed will prob be my GOTY.
Have you considered: A: How long the games Barrett is already actively wanting to play this year are going to be B: Considered how much Barrett is going to have to work this autumn/winter with Kev on paternity leave and Rog away on holiday. Stop with the console war nonsense, it ain't that deep
@@Parkesview you must be new here if you haven’t picked up on how often he takes a jab at anything Xbox. Sure, he’s got limited time but lists of a dozen games he’s excited to play but the Xbox one is the one he’s purposely resisting. I’m not trying to play any console wars, that’s the whole point.. I own all 3 and he always takes the shots. You’re right, It’s not that deep.. he has his right to if he enjoys console war’ing and I can point it out that it’s lame, like many others have other times.

@@BarrettCourtney There’s a reason it’s brought up fairly often in KF videos and other people like it/agree with them about it. Don’t be ashamed that you still play console wars in 2024. You make it known how you feel pretty often, weird move to pretend you don’t now. Btw, not asking that you stop.. do you. Just interesting you don’t want people acknowledging it.
The Outer Worlds started out fresh and fun... but after the first 10 hours, you realize it's small world zones with very little exploration. There's nothing really new to find, and you eventually find out there's nothing more to do. The game gets stale and you find yourself just completing it to move on to your next game. Avowed is nothing more than a copy and paste of The Outer Worlds. All of the marketing and media hype for this game is overdone because a day after release, people are going to find out it just sucks.s
Because at any moment before the game goes gold they might need to delay, so why would they announce a date if they’re unsure. Remember, everyone was getting pissed for the big walls of texts the last few years as devs had to delay games? Now they’re getting pissed that they’re not announcing it when they don’t have one set in stone. Also, I’m pretty sure the lady who was just interviewed, Carrie Patel, tweeted the likely release date the same day as the Xbox showcase. It’s not certain, but you can kind of gauge where it’s gonna end up.
Not everyone is beholden to Elden Ring lol. If combat is all that matters to you then this isn't the game for you, unfortunately. I wish the combat looked a little better too, but man I can't help but be excited for Avowed. I wish they kept the dark fantasy setting but I'm still excited for this.
I’m playing it. Souls games are literally played for their combat. This game offers something different, which is actual rpg mechanics and choices. As far as I know, you can’t befriend Mesmer in the dlc like you can with some of the bosses in this game.
Not every combat has to be the same as in a Souls game. We're gonna be playing this for the RPG elements, the characters, the choices, the story and the world, and not necesarily for the combat challenge or the bosses. Different strokes, yada yada.
I honestly thought I was not going to rock with the new format with no Xcast but holy shit I’m addicted to KF daily content now. Great interview!
Completely agree - I was disappointed with the news, but we've gotten high quality content with some of the Microsoft news the past few weeks

Loved the dad talk from Parris, was genuinely heartwarming
This is definitely not an interview I was expecting to happen, but I’m intrigued by the game, so I’m excited to learn more.
On point as usual with the questions fellas. Always nice to see Parris.
My most anticipated game of 2024! Sounds good to me!

I wish we got Mike to do the interview too with Parris
Man the end of the year is just so jam packed cannot wait for avowed I really hope it’s not to close to Star Wars outlaws

@@RedSpy47yea ac shadows is gonna be in the middle of a lot of games and it’s going to be big. I hope it doesn’t overshadow these
This game might be really dope. I'm excited.
Can't wait to play this
OBSIDIAN! I just found out a couple months ago that you could have robot rebellion in outer worlds. LOVE
Great interview ... cool game
This game sound so GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
Will definitely play the game

Very excited for this one
This is KFG Vol. 3, Episode 43 (Episode 527 overall)

You're right, I saw a trailer for the Eridanos DLC yesterday and it didn't capture its essence at all. I loved the murder in Eridanos DLC.
Wait, what change did they make to the final boss in Shadow of the Erdtree? They changed it from the review build?
Barrett not going to play an Xbox game and says purposely resisting it.. wow who could have seen that coming?

Console wars are stupid.
Psychonauts 2 is one of my favorite games this decade.

Al Gore Rhythm comment.
Handcrafted is getting tossed around a lot lately as a buzzword by companies
Probably because it’s in opposition to the word “ai”
Thanks for this interview, now I definitely don't want to play the game.
Outer Worlds was so disappointing and small. So my expectations aren't every high.
The outer worlds was mid. I hope they have worked out the kinks and this game comes out good

Dad
Why do they never answer what the release date is?
Because they don't know when the game will actually be done.
Because they aren't ready too
Because it’s not up to them
Because because they are afraid of falling into competition. waiting for the release date of Kingdom come 2 most likely

This game has 20 year old combat. Do you think ppl are going to play this in the same year a Shadow of the Erdtree?
This game is going bomb so hard
Uh, I started Erdtree a few days ago and I'll be done with it in a few days time.
I think I'll be fine to play Avowed in like October or November.
