This is PURE COUNTRY!! Every morning when I turn the horses out to pasture, feed the cows and chickens and whatever else needs doing on the farm, Weedeater is among the bands on rotation on my mp3 player.
It's funny, Dixie Dave in an interview said that he listened to a lot of COC growing up, they were a big influence in his sound. Now their front man's helping him put the strap back on his bass while he's playing. Pretty funny stuff
In this vid, they're playing the first 5 tracks off 'Jason The Dragon'. 00:13 - The Great Unfurling (Intro); 02:27 - Hammerhandle; 05:18 - Mancoon; 07:30 - Turkey Warlock; 10:17 - Jason... The Dragon
Thats fucking sludge drumming!! You can play technical bullshit all day long and still not have the feeling this drummer has.. Ive been there.. I loooove the feelin' its like church!
I was about to day "Is that Pepper"? Lol. I met him outside of the 930 club a few years back and he was a gentlemen to me and my very intoxicated girlfriend
I asked Dixie about that little episode at a show once. He just said that Pep is a dear friend! Hats off to Pepper and Pat for helping an old buddy out! That’s how you show class boys and girls!
VNNV most definitely, man. If I ever make it within the metal community with my band, I hope to see all people of all backgrounds as the other up-and-comers in the metal community. the dream, bruh
June Francis lmao I saw that shit too, definitely one of their grooviest songs tho. if your band ever makes it we need to tour together man I'm tryna make a shitty band that's nothing more then a mixture of pure sabbath, electric wizard, sleep, weedeater, bongzilla, and eyehategod worship
Usually opening bands will set their drums up in front of the headliner's drum kit so they don't have to change over two full kits between sets. Depending on stage size, it can sometimes get pretty "in line." However, Travis definitely pushes as close to the crowd as possible on purpose and the sideways thing is unique to him.
Dear Dixie, my name is Maurice. I am eight years old. I am your biggest fan. How come you are not so drunk anymore? My daddy says you were never drunk, but just a Hollywood phony. I told him he was wrong and he beat the shit out of me. Love, Maurice.
I'm actually straight edge and love weedeater, acid king, electric wizard, and bongripper. Straight edge isn't about music, its about being clean. STRAIGHT EDGE POR VIDA!!!
First, a bottle of Jack (straight), then what looks to be a Schlitz Blue Bull, and then a bottle of wine…all in the first song…I feel sorry for this guy’s liver…
This is PURE COUNTRY!! Every morning when I turn the horses out to pasture, feed the cows and chickens and whatever else needs doing on the farm, Weedeater is among the bands on rotation on my mp3 player.
I milk to this and fetal sludge, the goats like it better than NPR.
You still use a mp3?
@@whatthecrapdude564 What's wrong with mp3 son
Do the chickens and cows look like they freebase cocaine for a living? I mean it's fucking sludge but they may want to eat some too...
A weed eater sounds better than this

Just seeing this for the first time, and was thinking, "man that looks like Pepper ".
That was the COC singer?

I wonder if they played the whole album.
Thats fucking sludge drumming!! You can play technical bullshit all day long and still not have the feeling this drummer has.. Ive been there.. I loooove the feelin' its like church!

The bass player is a beast. He wouldn't stop even though his equipment was failing.Played through.Excellent.

Their drummer is a god damn blast to watch.
One of the most entertaining.
THE DRUMMER IS A FUCKING MANIAC!!!

Don't forget C.o.C
I was about to day "Is that Pepper"? Lol. I met him outside of the 930 club a few years back and he was a gentlemen to me and my very intoxicated girlfriend
Dixie is one of the best frontmen i've ever seen. He enjoys every second of it and it shows
I asked Dixie about that little episode at a show once. He just said that Pep is a dear friend! Hats off to Pepper and Pat for helping an old buddy out! That’s how you show class boys and girls!

eh. its fine the way it is.
The most charismatic frontman ever!))
That drummer is how I feel after my first cup of coffee in the morning.
After you stir in a half gram of red phosphorus super hillbilly dope...
Yeah, coffee. That's what it is.
Check out the drummers face at 4:03.....Musical communication.
hahaha nice one mate, i lost it!
That dude on drums is savage. The vocals are incredible. The music ain't bad either.
Travis Owen is a badass! I saw him in Nashville with Artimus Pyledriver. He'll beat your brains out live
Wow, 3 years ago.. time goes so fast... Awesome set that day!!!
Esteban B word man.i caught that one,MDF 15 & I'M going to see MDF 16 in a few months
So sick, bunch of 40 years playing heavy fuckin music drunk as shit. Keep slaying the riff.
That what they call being geeked up nowadays? Drunk???
Unique stage setup!! Don't think I've seen the drum set up right in the middle vs just behind the guitars. But it works!

@@joeb5773 Does he play like this in his other band?
@@DirtyFrankDahmer he did when he was in Whores. Can't remember the band he was in before that or if he sat sideways back then.
@@joeb5773 I just watched him with Artimus Pyledriver and he played sideways, but behind the band.

Dave for President.
HEY MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love Dixie’s bass tone

Jamey Jasta on Security
Lmao
Pepper the ultimate tech guy
They didn't say why, but apparently Shep and Dixie had a falling out with Keko.
I think Dixie Dave scares me a little bit.
Was that Pepper fixing Dixie's bass?
Yeah lol
When these guys become more recognized I would hope they have an actual weed-eater on stage.
ChthonianAlliance I volunteer myself.
There’s 3 of them up there.
HOOOOOOOLY FUCK THE DRUMMER THO
That's Travis fuckin Owen on drums. He definitely doesn't suck. know your southern metal and listen to Artimus Pyledriver.
Am I right in thinking Dave uses a guitar mic instead of a vocal mic
Shure SM57. Can be used for vocals but is most commonly used for mic'ing up snares and amp speakers.
he uses guitar mics, it adds grit to vocals
@@jacobcousins4234 An SM57 would not add 'grit' to any vocals.
6:22 a wild chicken appears!
He used to be in Artimus Pyledriver...great band.
Are those two techs that came out the guitar players from Down!?
Haha class. Down are the shit.
Is that Mitch from Dazed and Confused on guitar?
New drummer's killin it!
That's fucken boss Dixie👊
3:35 Down crew powah! 8)
Maybe, but no denying it's fucking awesome to see live and not skip a beat.
How many techs does it take to change a guitar strap?
2 and a roll of duct tape
Is Pepper Keenan their new guitar tech?? lol
Reminds me of Sunday morning breakfast out on the farm.
holy fuck, this shit is SICK
PJK such a great guy
Pepper is basically a superhero.
I love how Dixie also had strap problems when they played MDF again a few years later! Such a great band, live and on record.
Do some1 knows the cymbal's set up of drums?
Pepper from "Down" is now a Bass tech😄
lol I cannot tell who is the most hilarious ; the band ,the crew or the crowd.
i think the drummer left during the Vitus tour last year
Digging the Nati Boh in the video.
I laughed as soon as I saw it, but it’s Maryland, so go figure. That stuff is awful.
