- This videos is to help new truck drivers learn how to set up and backup a semi tractor trailer.
In CDL trucking schools the training is usually aimed at helping you get your CDL. The real world hands on training comes when you’re paired with a truck driver trainer.
The most intimidating part of driving a truck for new truck drivers is backing up. But to learn how to backup a tractor trailer takes some time.
So I hope the videos I share with you can help you learn the tips and tricks you can use along the way.

One question...once you pass space and you do 12 and then 9 oclock and stop...can you be more specific where the back of the trailer should be?? It seems like the back driver side corner of bumper should be in the middle of the space your going in...or should it just be a lil bit past the driver side line of the space your backing in?? Its very hard for me to imagine the direction of the path my trailer need to go....so im either way pass the space or start cutting to soon...so this is the best video for getting in the hole...i just need a better idea of a starting point....

I guess this is kind of stupid, but I'm having trouble with recognizing which direction I need to be turning the wheel in the middle of backing up. I'm in CDL classes, and been driving for two days now, but I am having hell with backing up.
You will get it. It takes a bit of time for your mind to grasp what you want the trailer to do and to know the timing of when to turn and how much to turn but you will get it. Just take it slow, don’t turn to much and give the trailer time to respond before making another turn

Is this a 90 degree maneuver? Because I really have hard time with I fail my test for these
